Now these scammers are using the name of mr warren Thomas and saying there from
Dept of treasury and charging 215 from either checking account or on green dot card or walmart card.

Yeah , I got same phone call and they said I won grant from gov. Which is 8400.00  and I was wonder what kind grant want me to pay in order to receive the grant ? These people so retarded !!! And he called by name Warren Thomas ,

These people are calling me to say I got a grant of 8400 for school but I need to send him 250 from a credit card I told him off. People like this prey on people in need and in time when they stand with the maker they will get what the deserve. Get a real job you people are low your mom must be proud of you. How can we get these people??? Really how many people don't know not to do this!!!!

They called me last night and said that I won a grant for 8400 and needed my debit card or credit card information and I gave them a old debit card that was not working for I suspected a scam I played along to see where it was going and was told to call Amanda lee at2024703920 and she called me back and said to call tomorrow to get the information I proceeded to investigate and looked up the new your federal bank and it tells you that if anyone calling or spamming you should write them a email and if you would like to look them up it is federal bank of new york and choose contacts and them general inquires

i fell for that 8,400 grant also i never do that but i'm guilty of being stupid but when i got off phone i got smart went and emptied my bank account got my money out. before they did now gonna cancel my account get new card  saying they gov  the phone number they called from  is 202 666 9700 the number they told me to call was 202 407 7196

Got a call from this joker Larry but Susan called first but dude asked for money before I receive money. I called his a** out on his scam and he got mad.

Yup exact same amount they asked me for and it was for 8,400 as well. Why hasnt the government stopped these people yet? smt They called me today.

i also got the call  and had to call misour michelle. they had a french accent and i gave them a green dot card number. then they wanted me to pay 214.00 to get the 8,400.00 sent to me and it was a grant that i never had to repay. wow what a scam

I called them back and said hi this is bill Thompson with the FBI and the lady was really quiet for about 10 secs and then went umm who did you say you were? And I told her I was tracing the call so she hung up haha

I went through the same song and dance.  $8,400 with a $214 "tax" to get the grant.  I ask why would the US pay a TAX to a Foreign Charity?!!!  I told they to send the money minus the fee or tax and they said no can do.  I told them as far as me sending them money first, No Can Do!

I just received a phone call from 202-6662441 on my cell phone telling me it was my lucky da y. That 13,000 Americans had been chosen to receive a grant and that the money could be used for a legal thing I wanted to spend it on Let me make sure we have the right info please?.. Where upon he continued to give me my name and address, then he ask my age (I lied) and my marital status (I again lied) Then he ask if I wanted the money put in my bank or on my card?. DAH?. Like I am going to give this person any info like that?.  I told him I needed a number to call and verify all of this. That is when he said OH YES call 202-407-7196 and you will be talking to Michelle McKenzie give her all your info and this number (AO282) and then you can share with her where you would like this money to go?.. I wanted to tell him NOT TO HIS LEGAL DEFENCE but I am sure they will NEVER be caught.  Older people are fooled by this all the time so with names and numbers WHY can?t these people be tracked done and put in jail??? Of course he sounded foreign so I guess he is yet another one that is in Nigeria and we don?t seem to be able to stop any of them?By the way he told me his name was James Morgan?and the caller Id says Dist of Columbia.... I didn't bother calling Michelle as I assumed then the real scam would begin

Just talked to them today. But it appears "Amanda Lee" is no longer the person you're looking for its now "Michelle mckenzie" and I also needed to send $214 from a western union( which is a dead giveaway for the treasury dept.?)  for my 8,400 grant. Watch out for 202 407 7196

Received call from 202 666 1040 stating I would be receiving $8k in grant and I could use it any way I wanted, He wanted my bank information, didn't like every time I said mail me a check, gave him a prepaid visa card that is zero'd out and he informed me that I need to contact Amanda Lee at 202 407 7196 with approval # RT775... this is a scam

Called and said i won a grant of $8,400 and that i needed to call amanda lee. this so called amantda lee never called back.

I got the same call as Bill, and I have received a call back from "Amanda Lee" telling me that they wanted $250 in order to receive my "Grant." I would be willing to guess that this is a Scam. Lookout boys, here she comes.

I received a phone call from 202-666-8041 telling me I was to receive a government grant and that I had to call 202-407-7196 and give my information to Amanda Lee to get my $8,400.00 wired to my checking account. I played along with the first caller to get more information but did not pass out the information he wanted.  Amanda Lee had a message machine but never returned my call.  SPAMMERS!!!

I received two phone calls from D.C. 202-407-7196 and 303-248-9132 and they are scams !!! Becareful !

A man calling himself Govt. Agent Larry Gazinski from D.C.202 -407- 7196 called a friend of mine (senior)  He said he had won a prize of 450k and the company couldn't get a hold of him and that he needed to call Spencer Ingram from Prudential Insurance at 609-439-4586 they also gave him a claim number. There were also some other details but the bottom line is it's close to the other scams.I'm curious how they treat their parents and Grandparents?
