Claimed to be from the Dept of Justice. They were holding a package for me valued at $750,000. It needed security clearance. I gave him the riot act telling him he should be ashamed of himself trying to take advantage of people! The have called me twice now! Definitely foreign!

2024077255 scam number.  Said they were with Bank of America and I needed to pickup $875K in a bag at JFK airport.  They had my cell number, name, and home address.......

Rec'd. a call on my Cell Phone on 10-16-12 from Stephen Baker from the Fraud Division - he left a voicemail and asked me to call him back. When I tried to call back, no one answered the phone call - it just rang and I hung up. The Voice mail that I first got sounded like an Indian person as well.
  This definitely does sound like some type of FRAUD at that --- from them!!!!
        When I did a reverse phone number look-up, all I got was that it is a land line in Washington, DC - if I wanted to pay a fee, then I could get a name, well, I already had that from the message.

SAME THING WITH ME, STEPHEN BAKER, FRAUD DEPT OF THE DEPT. OF JUSTICE IN WASHINGTON. RIGHT AWAY I WAS SUSPECT SO I GOT FIRM WITH HIM ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF HIM ATTEMPTING TO SCAM ME, HE GOT FRESH BACK, BUT NEVER CALLED ME BACK.  IRONIC THING WAS THAT SOMEHOW HE LINKED MY CELL # WITH MY OFFICE WORK NUMBER.  KIND OF SCARY.  NOT SURE WHERE TO REPORT HIM.  CAN ANYONE HELP?

Just recieved a call from someone claiming to be from the fraud dept in washington dc. I tried to call back but keep getting a voice mail. Has anyone else had his happen? Is it a.scam?

more  than likely   (  99  %  )   the  "  202"  area  code  fraud  scams   going  around !!!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

Not sure he left a message on my phone, the message stated that he was Stephen Baker with the Fraud Dept in Washington. I blocked my number and called back only to get a voice mail, I hung up. It seemed like a scam or something was not right.
