I was told the exact same thing today, with the addition to not tell Western Union what the transaction was about! When he called me back because I didn't go I told him that I called the I.R.S. and had it checked out and that I knew it was a scam and he didn't waiver from his story a bit!  Kept pushing me!

Someone called me saying that their name was Mary and she is from the US Government and i have been approved for a grant of 1000 and i had to options to get the money. I told her that it was a scam and thatn i was going to report it to the police. She got mad with me and said that she is gooing to pay me a visit to dnt worry. She siad she knows where I am at all times. And I ask are you going to harm me and she said no I just want to meet your family I ask why and she said just to see you face to face. i felt really threaten.

Got that call today. Greens approval code CM125, lady with heavy accent, call 202-436-9001 to get my money. This happened 29 Mar 2012 @ 04:00pm. I told her I wanted my $7,000 in CASH... I am not calling the number and they better not call me back. By the way, they have some sort of auto-dailing system that calls your phone then you hear their system calling one of their representatives. I have been doing a lot of jobs searches on Dice, Indeed, and Careerbuilder website(s).. they probably obtain my phone / address information from there. YOU GET NOTHING FOR FREE.... I should of hung up cause the blabing scaming lady w/accent started to get on my nerves.

I got the same EXACT call... woman with heavy accent / CM125 / 202-436-9001. I have been job searching on DICE, INDEED, CAREERBUILDER website... they probably got my information for their... posing as a company hiring.

Yeah so the Federal government, for which I have been employed, they have my address my DNA, They certainly wouldn't get me mixxed up for someone else 1500+ miles away.... not with $7000...  being the scheme shiesty person I am... I gave them my account information for a spare bank account that never has more then $25 in it...  Baits out... Traps set.... Lets see how many fingers I get this time?? mwahahaha

same info as above except they further stated I had to use the money for Good purchases such as a new vehicle, home remodeling or catching up on bills.. I could not use it for gambling, lottery, alcohol, drugs etc.   Her name was kathy and my confo number NS125 and she sounded Asian to me.... she even lost a bit of her cool when I insisted she just send me a check...that's when I got the info about Western Union... I wonder if anyone has told Western Union about this....

I just received the same phone call. They said exactly the same thing: " I have been chosen by the governent to obtain $ 7000.00 because I did not have a criminal record, I payed my taxes on time and I had a good credit." However, I had to pay $250.00 to be donated to a children foundation for me to obtain the $7000.00. Also, he said that he would stay on the phone with me until I went to the bank and I payed the $250,00 and he will provide a confirmation number for me to obtain the  $7000.00. They gave me a confirmation number whichs is BR828 and a number to call which is 202-436-9001.
Ofcourse, this is a scam. Becareful...

The lady just called me .She ask for my card #s I told he that she was not calling from D.C she was calling from  L.A. Calif. It was the 2nd time the # Was [213] 788-7628 I she got    $7.000.00 cash on her ???

don't know which is more annoying this call or the one that says they are going to arrest me for loans that are outstanding that i never took out in the first place.  what has happened to the secure website where you put your information in order to secure a loan or obtain goods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i may be old but not that old am not that stupiddddddddddddddddddddddd

Recevied call similarly stated in other reports.  "Unknown #, lady with an accent, hard to understand as she was talking so loudly into phone and constantly bumping into her mic, wanted my employment status, etc., etc.  She was not happy when I told her I did not have a job right now.  (I do, but wasn't going to tell her that)   She told me to call immediately after hanging up with her and give them conf. #. KR146.  I told her I had to go feed my father and would call Monday morning.  She said, "Oh, you go feed him and then you call.  you can call anytime, do not have to wait til Monday"  I chuckled.  That for sure gave it away as I never heard of a US Gov't office being open for calls 24/7 unless its law enforcement.  

REPORT this to FTC...I did.

202-436-9001 a total scam they tried to explain it an i called them out on it an a man picked up an told me to f*** off an not to call there number again so i've been blowing up there number an there getting so mad that the shoes on the other foot an i'm not gonna stop i'm layed up in the hospital with nothin else to do an they are trying to threaten me for harrassment haha bring it you scamming f**** so dont fall for the government grant program for 7000 bucks dont get ripped off people!!!

SCAM FOREIGN LADY SAID GIVE 7000.00 FOR PELL GRANT AFTER I GAVE THEM 250.00.  MAXIMUM AMOUNT FOR A PELL GRANT IS 5500.00.

I jus got call from a lady name Wendy Cooper. She told me in order to get the $7,000 I had to send $250. It sound great but I told her to take the $250 out of the 7000. She told me that it couldn't be done. I'm wondering how did they get all of my information? The code they gave me was JA114. That is a very short conformation number.

I just got the call from the scam artists and I to almost fail for it. I heavy accent Indian last told me about the 7000.00 grant money from the govrnmemt and advise me to call 202 436 9001 and when I called and I started asking question about 200.00 that I needed to send in order to get it they hung up and I called bk to ask more they Hung up again. Damn scamers

same thing had happen to me but i fail for it and sent them 260 dollars..it was to good to b true and im hurt bcuz thats all i had and times r hard. i have no job wit bills. 500 a mon wit other bills... im hurt and i dont have much. i was so happy that i just sent the money thinkn God has answer my prayer.. y did yall pic me.. im a good person dat doesnt bother anyboby. plz call if this happen or b4 this happen MAYB I CAN HELP AND SAVE U SOOM MONEY;(

same here person called and said the same thing to me and gave me a code of KR146.  I looked up number and saw this respond. will not call this number and hope they done continue to call me after reading others who have been contacted by this  unavailable # then told to call 202-436-9001
