-The same scenario someone called gave me a conformation number and told me to call this number 202-470-0890 and ask for the manager (Amanda) then she told me to go to a CVS Walgreens or 7-11 to purchase a green dot prepaid debit card because I know that when you apply for a grant from the government you don't have to pay it back or taxes on it anyway
Plus if the government wanted to send me money they wouldn't have to verify my identity over the phone
They would just print my name on the check and send it to me
That's what my social security number is for

BIG TIME SCAM DON'T TRUST!!!!!!!!!

Received a call from this number today (202/470-0890). I was told about the $9000 and that I needed to call "Amanda" (because I wouldn't give them my bank account info) and give her this conf. number. After reading this, I'm not calling "Amanda".

I have received a call today.  The first call didn't show the caller #. Someone told me that I have been randomly chosen for a 9000$ grant with the government.  She asked me if I want to give them my account number or I prefer to receive my money by cash.  I said that I not going to give my account number.  She gave me this number: (202) 470 0890 to talk to the manager who was going to give me the whole information.  Amanda (the manager) said that I need to go the CVS or seven/eleven store and buy green dot money bac hard paper color copy for 300 $ but before buying I need to call her and she is going to tell me what should I do step by step.  I shouldn't ask anyone any thing because they can easily find out my information and get the money before I could get it!!!  This doesn't look real.  Could you find out what or who is behind this story?

I have received the  same call and the same number.  What is this?  Is it real?  I do not trust!  They told me to go to CVS or seven eleven and buy a Green money bac (hard paper color) for 300 dollars and I should cal them before buying and stay online and talk to them during whole transaction.  ?????

Yep ...
Just think,
* if Alexander Graham Bell did not invent the telephone, we would not be bothered by all this trash!
* If Thomas Edison had not invented the light bulb, we would be watching TV or our computer monitors via candle light.
* If Ben Franklin &/or Alexander Volta had not invented electricity, the internet might have to run on kerosene.

>>> * Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true. <<<

THAT one I don't believe, but the corollary *IS* true -- before Abraham Lincoln invented the Internet, everything was false.

They didn't call him "Honest George" for nuttin', you know.

Things to believe:

* There ain't no such thing as a free lunch (TANSTAFL)
* If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
* You have not won big bucks from an unknown government benefactor <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
* The tooth fairy really does not exist
* Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
* It is illegal to pay money for a loan, BEFORE getting the loan!
* "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you must give them your card number!
