Same old. Had several calls in recent past.
This time, I remain silent knowing what scammer is planning.
The Indian guy start to sing for a while then hangs...
Well he sound really terrible.
No wonder they have to go to extend of all these trouble and scams to make money!
Or may be McDonald needs to open branches in India too, so that they can at least have minimum wedge income even if they can't sing :) Oh BTW weren't Indian Vegetarian???!!  Now everything is getting clear.

Pure Scam ....I called back to tell them I was on the Do Not Call List but all I got was a recording saying this is a NON-WORKING NUMBER!

This number has been calling me all day and saying nothing. when i call back a message says this is not a working number

I received two calls today, at 11:00 AM and again at 3:00 PM.  Caller sounded like he was Indian or Pakistani, and said he was calling from the "U.S. Government Grants Office."  I told him he should learn to speak English if he is going to work for the U.S. Government, and hung up.

He is still using the same number. Will call DC Police to see if they can do anything.

Caller did not answer...why are these people not stopped?

Does not leave message, does not speak english, when calling back the number says not a working number please put me on the unsalisited calling list 81-309-5800.

They are using a new number 202-697-9868, they say it is the US Grant Dept.

I have received quite a few calls from this number (apparently I am a right popular person with them) today I was having a brain fart and answered it.  I was told that I had been chosen for a $9000 grant from the US Government that I didn't have to repay (WOW...how did I get so lucky) I didn't even apply for one.  We should try to get this number out to all people and let them know these people are SCAM artists....they are trying to get peoples hard earned money...while they sit on their backsides and do nothing (except talk in an accent that NO ONE can understand)...I hope everyone has a blessed day and avoid talking to people at 202-559-7648 like they are the Plague

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign call centers  /  countries !!!!
we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers mostly  in   INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

They seem to be hammering me today?

They just did the same thing again?

They call.  I ignore.  They no leave message.  

Just another day of being someone that signed up with DoNotCall.gov years ago & the calls never stop.

this number has been calling me for a few days, i finally pick up, aggravated, then thay hung up. i blocked my number and called it back, it was no longer in service. dont answer any call from this number

Received a call from this number said I could receive the money three ways bank account , debit card or western union. But I had to put down a $300 deposit and I would receive the money back totaling $9300 all while she stayed on the phone to confirm the transaction. All because I pay my bills on time. She said it was a loyalty grant. If a grant is free why would I have to pay $300? And why can't she deduct it from the money I'm supposed to receive.... Got my spider senses tingling

told the guy that I would take 10, please send to me....maybe he is from the indian computer service I have had trouble with, any of you have computer service problems?

There was just static and some mumbling that I could not understand. This called me twice today already.

if you have Verizon you can block the number.  which is what I did.  why can't the FTC stop stuff like this?

Same story as all above. Horribly accented woman ( couldn't understand) said I was to receiver 9k from govt grant. Told her to talk slower , guy got on ( Indian accent) said he'd call me back in 25 mins. I will be telling him about this report.  :)

so i just got the 7th call in two days from this number!!  When i tried to call it back after the 6th time, it says that the number is "disconnected".  I finally answered on the 7th.  Just for my own amusement (and passive-aggressive fulfillment) I entertained the caller.

The guy was almost impossible to understand.  He asked if i would like to receive a "tax free grant" that would never need repayment, and i enthusiastically replied "YES, THAT WOULD BE WONDERFUL!"  

At this point, he got a little more crisp with his speaking, and began to ask me for my "information" so he could start "getting me signed up".  I asked him if he slept ok at night, and he didn't answer.  I asked him if he thought i was a complete idiot...and he hung up.  

This is not even a fun scam to string-along.  These people are half-witted, unintelligible, and very disorganized.  I wonder how it's even worth it to them to make the calls.  They can't even pitch their deception clearly!!  What incredible moron fell for this and made them think it was worth repeating??!!  

I give it a 2 on the SCAM-SCALE, and if you get a call from this number, don't even waste your time trying to mess with them.  They are idiots.

Same deal - Got a call like 10 mins back and was told about some $9K grant. I asked them to tell me my name if it's a legit call.  The guys started threating me asking whether I wanted the money or not.  I told I don't unless he can prove the call is legit. Then his supervisor came on phone and gave me 253-220-7288 number and talk to Judie Taylor, their so call 'account manager'.  I never called and know for sure it's a scam. Beware folks.

This person seems like from India, has a strong Indian accent has called me twice today.  Very annoying, singing Indian songs and breathing heavy, IDIOT!

8 calls in one day . no one talks .. maybe gathering info not sure ..

2 calls this morning, one at 755 am and one a few minutes ago....scammers,,,called in cell phone not falling for the bottom feeders..

Got a call from 2025597648. Caller mentioned US govt is giving me back $9000 for my honesty in paying taxes  mortgages and credit card dues. I was like what??..

We are current having 17 Trillion debt and if US govt gives back money like this then the US$$ would be like Zimbabwe $$. ha ha

Who are these zombies!!...why are they in this world, we can send them into the free space.

They just call me today with that number of 202-559-7648 and told me that I was able to get $9,000 in grant money which I did NOT had to pay back. I told them I know that they was a scam that if they call me again that I was going to file a suit againist them for harassement but they was tring to tell me that it wasnt a scam so I came out telling them to f them and hang up on them. Then I decide to call the number back to see next to know that the number was disconnected lol.

Got a call form this guy today at 202-559-7648. Could not understand what he was saying, then he just laughed and hung up. Very annoying.
