The number is now 206-801-1737 and said that I won a $7000 grant from the government that I do not have to repay.  He had a very thick foreign accent and had all of my husband's information also.  He gave me a conformation number and asked me (pretending to be my husband) to write down confirmation number and this other phone number to call back and they would tell me next step of what to do about how to get my money.  That is when I looked on her for scamming info.  Sounded pretty fishy to me!!  Ah haaaa!!!  You have to get up pretty EARLY in the am to fool me!!!  ;)  Shoot...I really could have used $7 k.  Ha Ha!!!

I also got a call but no was different 202 559 7639....then told me to call 202 580 8480 an give conformation # but when they asked me for 200.00 I hung up! That was one of three ways to make sure I got the $$$  told them I would not give out any personal #s over the phone. The$ was then going to come western union but I had to send 200 00. Hey tell these scammers we don't have stupid written on our forheads!

I just had that call for the 7k just now before i posted this. And i actually called back the number like an idiot lol i didn't give any personal info. But they already had my full name number address, n employment info!!! Right after the call i went straight online to see of others had been hit by this scam. It was a 202 number

Same story = Man with heavy Indian accent "Henry" with "United States Federal Grant Dept." said I am selected for a $7000 federal grant payable to me through bank account #, a plastic card, or western union. Incoming call was from (347)166-2380 (New York). Was given the number (202)470-3243 (Washington D.C.) to call back with a verification code. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO! RED FLAG!

I received the call from a man with  an Indian accent who said that he was from the Federal Government and that I had been given a grant of $7000 -like the other callers. He told me to call the phone number, 202-586-8706 and give Eric Martin, his supervisor the confirmation number, RSC7961. I asked for a website to confirm that they are legitimate. Interestingly, he gave me, foundgrant@gmail.com a website reported previously to be from an email/ mail scam originating in Nigeria. These people have grown more sophisticated and may have an international network in place.

Received this call 2 days in a row now. The first caller was female, sounded Latina. The second call was from a man who sounded Indian. I asked the first caller what the catch was, who did I have to pay to receive my money, etc. She was audibly upset about me questioning the free money and hung up. I pressed the second caller to name the branch of the Federal Government he was with and he hung up after realizing "I am with the Federal Government" wasn't good enough.

I filled out a few forms requesting online school info and job searches recently.  I have no doubt this is where my information was farmed by these low lives.

I just got a phone call from 2022100054 and a lady with an Indian accent said I have been selected to receive $9,000 grant money for paying my bills and doing my taxes. Then she asked me for a credit or debit card number to deposit the $9000 but it seemed kinda weird so I told her I didn't have a bank account then she asked if I can open an account so they can deposit the money and I said I could open it by tomorrow so now she's gonna call back tomorrow hahaha I'm gonna tell her to stop scamming people and get a job lol

I received a call from 202-621-5429.  I was to call the manager Sam Benjamin at 202-738- and give him an account number of VS143.  I called the number but no answer.  I didn't think this was right anyway.

Yes I got the same call. He gave me a confimation number, he knew my address, whole name and number. The first guy I spoke to, I coudnt even understand than I spoke to a michael Khin who even had his direct line with and ext number. This is crazy and scary, I know alot of people are in need of some cash, I just hope no one falls for this scam.

I just got the same call from a 222-222-2245/ 202-738-1655 They told me I wont a 7k of free money from the government and the reason for this its because I have been paying my bills and not been on bankruptcy. That in order for me to receive this money at a moneygram I have to deposit $280 which I will get back along with the 7k. He said this is not a scam just to call him back when Im at a walmart. WOW how can these people get all my information. He didnt ask me for my cc but he did say to go to a walmart and deposit this fund so they can verify its me and be able to receive my fund!!!! geeee how can they make people believe all this. It will be great if we can get some cash lol

I got a call from 222-222-2245.  A guy with a heavy accent said I got a grant for $7000.  He said my name was picked because the US government appreciates me and I was one of 1500 people selected.  He said because I have no criminal backround , I pay my bills on time, and good credit my name and number was selected.  He said this money would come Western Union.  He gave me a phone number 202-407-9093 and said this was the phone number to the supervisor and I was to give him this ID number wg1012.  I called this number to find out what was going on.  The guy that answered also had a heavy accent and told me to call back in 20 minutes.   I kept asking him how he got my address, phone #, and name.  He said it was because I was selected....it seemed as if he was hesitating to answer.  I kept asking him how he got my info over and over....he kept saying because I was selected....then I noticed he was getting agitated in his tone because I wouldn't give him info to verify. SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO ME!  NEVER GIVE YOUR INFORMATION TO ANYONE EVER ON THE PHONE UNLESS YOU HAVE PROOF IT IS LIGIT!

These people call from several numbers. They called me from 202#, but today it was 2139653964. And i assume the unknown calls also. They offered me a $7000 government grant.

I received a call from (778) 455-5441 which is in British Columbia was given a confirmation number the man had an extremely heavy accent gave me another number (206) 866-5705 which is in Washington I called the woman and I asked to get the money what was the catch she sounded confused when she said there was none and hung up I called back gave her the confirmation number she put me on hold I then hung up after 10min and called back several X's and the phone just rings and rings! They had my maiden name the wrong zip code but they had my age and everything else very scary

Just got the same call 10min ago by a woman with bad english named Amy Lee, and I was told to call a Jeff Conner @ 202-738-1398 with my approval code and they wanted $220 to wire my $7000 grant. Nice try but they aren't getting any money from me!

A lady just called me from a Washington D.C. number..I was told I was selected to receive $7000 for free by the Obama administration.The money could be recieved into a bank account or cash..I did not give them bank info so they gave me a another number and told me a lady by the name of Fiona Farmer would give me the info on how to get my cash..They told me to call right away...so I waited 30 min. by that time no answer..Its a scam they want t you to call quick so they get your money fast then change to a new number..

The number was 202-738-1655. I knew it was a scam so I got the number to call and ask to have my name removed from the list. He immediately started cussing me out saying the most vulgar things I had ever heard. So I told him if this was an actual business he would not be cussing me out. Granted it was broken English and hard to understand thank goodness bc what I did get out of it was disgusting. I asked to speak to a manager and the guy actually changed his voice and started laughing half way through his greeting! So I confronted him and he threatened to come to my house and kill me and a whole bunch of other nasty stuff! Sooo angry right now! What should I do?

they been call me for four months straight and for the past 3 days been call unavailable, I have yelled at them so many times and they still keep call and wont quit. They even actually call me a f**** bloody b**** and even had the nerve to call back 4 or 5 times how do I get to stop!!!

OMG They called me so many many many times, one day they got up the grant up to 10.000 dollars and they asked me for my checking number, and I told this stuped girl how come the government is gonna ask you for money for sent me money and told send it to my address, and point, and goes no I can't 'cause this are and go all your f** are s*** and after that they not called me again. Don't give them info to this people.

I just got a call from a blocked number. Of course an Indian man, gave me a 202-657-6938 number, I never gave out my info. I never give out info over the phone and neither should you. Scams like this are happening everyday, in many different forms. Get your number put on a national do not call directory. That way scammer can't get to you, please protect your identity, its hard to get it back once its been stolen.

Do an internet search on your phone number and your full name.  You will be surprised at what shows up about yourself.

Well now they have up the grant amount. They just called me with 9000 in a grant. Gave me a certification number. Told me I had to call another 202 number and talk to Adam Foster. He is the account manager. The guy had a heavy accent. The scary thing is he knew my name, address, and age. Send these people back to their country. I received the call about winning 7000, Lord knows I need it, but the Lord also showed me it was the Devil trying to take the little I have.  LOL!!!!

I also received the same kinda call from 202-621-7457, this heavily accented dude said I was selected for a (toyally free) $7000 government grant, for no reason other than the fact that I pay my taxes on time, haven't filed for bankruptcy in the last 6months and don't have a crimal record. Then he gave me an authorization password and told me to call 206-317-1624 so they could release the money to me. At this point all they did was confirm my address, which was out dated(no surprise there). Obviously a red flag, but they hadn't asked for any personal information yet (credit card# or social) so I figured I'd see how deep the rabbit hole goes. I called the number and got ahold of another heavily accented (middle eastern or Indian) woman. I gave her the code and after congratulating me she proceeded to tell me that in order to receive the $7000, I would have to go to a Western Union and pay $330 (in cash no less) to prove that I am in fact who I say I am. Afterwards I would be refunded the $330 as well as paid the full $7000, that same day, according to her. Then she said to call from the parking lot to get further instructions  before entering western union and specifically said 'not,' to mention anything about the grant or the government to the good people of the western union establishment. At that point I laughed in their face, hung up the phone, swiftly forgot about all the amazing things I was going to do with the extra 7g's and I strongly recommended anyone who finds themselves in this or any simular situation to do the same!!!!! THIS IS A SCAM, AND REALLY ISN'T HELPPING AN ALREADY NEGATIVE STEREOTYPE EITHER... There is no such thing as something for nothing and if something is to good to be true, then ladies and gentlemen it usuall always is. There is so many things wrong about this I wouldn't know where to start.(there would be paper work in the mail, the government would have my current address, they would have a proof paper trail a mile long, western union wouldn't be involved at all, they would confirm your social, that and they know who you are, they called you after all, if there really was a grant, not only would you have had to apply for months, but they wouldn't charge you on money they were already going to give you anyway and by that time there would be no question as to the legitimacy of your identity and so on....) NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE U DON'T KNOW OVER THE PHONE OR ESSPESIALLY OVER THE INTERNET, EVER!!!my only question is how we warn and protect decent hardworking, paycheck to paycheck, honest american's (like myself) that this would appeal too and how do we penalize these fluadulent scum buckets accordingly?

I got this same call from an unavailable number. Had been getting them for xays so I finally answered. A guy with a heavy Indian accent answered saying I was eligible for a one-tkme opportunity grant for $7000 from the US govt. He said I qualified and my name and number was chosen because I paid my bills and taxes on time and I have no criminal record. He repeated this several times without me saying a word and also made sure to keep saying $7000. Before it went any further, I asked if there was any other way I can verify this other than this phone call, he says, "Yes, you can verify.... (inaudible)". Then there was silence and the guy hung up on me midsentence.

just got a call from the same people they are using 202)657-6329 now, we'll the thing is it to was a woman with broken English and said the government had 7000 dollars in grant money for me she wanted my account number I said I don't have none then she said I need to send 299$ for a security deposit for the 7000 and that I could use WESTERN UNION!!!!! YEAH RIGHT!!!! this is a scam.
