My wife and I get this kind of crap calls almost daily. We have a contest to see who can keep them on the line the longest. So far she is the winner at 37 minutes.............that was 37 minutes the A$$e$ couldn't call someone else..........you're welcome.
I have been getting calls from this number off and on for about a month. I looked it up and found out it was a scam about a $7000 grant from the government. So, I took the number off call block to put a stop to this. Within minutes I got a call. He called me by name and told me of a grant for $7000 from the government. I told him GREAT, I just received one last week for the $7000 and would like another one. He got MAD and said that there was no f****ng money and then asked if he was wasting my time. I told him yes, and he was doing a good job at it!! He then told me to have a nice day... I then told him to go f*** himself and hung up the phone. He called back in 2 minuites and told me that he was going to f*** my wife and family and hung up. NOW, he has called 10 more times in 30 minutes. I have a call blocking app for my android and turned the block back on. This is getting OLD!!
I just received a call from this number but promptly realized it was one that I did not want to answer. Hopefully someone will stop them from calling people and trying to scam them out of money!
Scam call with the free money pitch.
Male with accent said that he was calling from Washington, D.C. and that the government had awarded me a $7,000 grant and it never has to be repaid. I responded that I do not trust him and never call my telephone again. He hung up.
This number called 202-621-5429 and I answered I said 'hello" and they just hung up.
I called back but it says the number is temperarilly unavailable
Mr. Number is a good blocker
Didn't answer this, don't know number. Looked up and told a scam
I just got a call from this number and I told them to take me off their call list. This dumbass tells me that, "He can't." His name is Jason. Got his supervisor on the line and told him to take me off because they call non-stop, and I would report them to B.B.B. for harassment. Works everytime.
I too just got a call from 202-621-5429, but did not answer, and of course no message was left. I'm sick of all these calls. I just called it back and it said" the number you are calling is teporarily unavailable."I signed up for the do not call list, but I don't think it will do any good.
God!!! is there anyway I can stop these people from calling me every day!!! It's so anoying!! They use different names, but they always say they're from the US goverment Grant Departments, I can't take it anymore, they call every single day! How can I block these calls?
Started receiving phone calls from (202) 621-5429 recently, but didn't answer them. I became suspicious almost immediately because they would only ring 2 or 3 times then hang up and never leave a message. A legitimate business caller would not call persistently than only ring the phone 2 or 3 times and hang up. Also a legitimate caller would leave a message to identify themselves and the reason for calling.
Then I checked here and found they were scam calls. Thanks 800notes.com for providing this service. I live on a limited (disability) budget, so I can't afford the fees charged by all the high priced phone # look-up services!
Thanks to all of the contributors for taking the time to report their experience with these scam artists.
Received same call...same bull. Mark bowman. Its a scam...said I get 7000 bucks from government and I didn't have to pay it back. Not the U.S. Government... That automatically tells you its fraud.
I keep getting calls from this number daily. I answer and they hang up.
Once I actually talked to a person who barely spoke english and they said something about school grants. When I told them I am on the do not call list, he said I'm not on THEIR do not call list. I told them to stop calling and hung up.
Won't quit calling!
This number was claiming to be from the US Government Grant office. The woman on the other end claimed that my family and I were rewarded $7,000 worth of grants. However, the woman had a foreign accent, couldn't pronounce my name correctly, and it was noisy on the other end (definitely chattering). When she asked me if I wondered why I was selected, I told her that I don't fall for scams and hung up. This call had scam written all over it.
2nd call on my cell today from this number. Woman with heavy accent told "The Government" had selected me for a grant and all I had to do was.....
I believe this scam is being run against senior citizens who might want to believe "The Government" has selected them for grant monies to pay them back for whatever ... This needs to be shut down.
You have to put it on your reject call list if you have that option on your phone. On my phone, it's under my call settings.
I've gotten calls from this number a few times. I answered today and a man who told me I won a grant from the government for $7000 that I could use in any way I wanted. He told me to call Carol at (202)738-4217 to claim my money.
i just recieved that same exact spiel. my account managers name was sam benjermin. thank you. i knew it was to good to be true.....
Meh I got a call from this number ended up telling them to f*** off and die.
I get a call from this number three times a day. I'm looking for a job, so I run to the phone. They hang up as soon as I pick up. Frustration!
good for you, cause I got the same call, first of all I never requested the grant, secondly, the indian dialect is a instant giveaway it's not a US Government call. I swear I am going to get me a blow horn and the next time I get one I will blow their ears off.
calls - no one says anything and then hangs up... maybe if my husband who sounds likes a wolf speaks into the phone - they'll stop calling?!
I get calls from this a number like this at least every other day. Some stating they are with the government and need my bank account info or a card number so they can send me a grant. Other calls say I had a transplant surgery and am entitled to money from a lawsuit. The funny thing is I have never had a transplant surgery. The scary thing is that my number they are calling isn't even 6 months old and I haven't given it to anyone besides my employer family a couple close friends and my college. Every caller is a man with a heavy accent and can be barely understood. Once they ask for bank account information and card numbers I immoderately hang up. Just want these calls to stop already.
thanks ..im on the do not call list
They need to give money to me. that my money. and they need my id . no good
I have filled out a lot of job applications from various employment websites. Some of them have an option to talk to an education consultant. These are the only sites to which I have ever given personal information. Wish I could get a hold of some these scammers and slap 'em around a bit.
