I have been receiving calls frm this # & 2 other variations of it for the past 10 days, thnk goodness only once, mayb 2x. If I don't know or recognize the # I nvr answer. If they are truly trying to get a hold of 1 of us & legit then they would leave a vm, right? Right! I loved reading some of the other comments, vry funny. I don't understand how or why these foreigners think they can scam "US" in2 falling for this crap. For some reason they think we ALL are idiots. Well surprise MF's we're NOT! Thank you to every1 who has posted their complaints and/or experiences its vry helpful. God Bless America!!!

PS: This is the 3rd # I'm reporting on. And I am appalled by how many ppl state that they are told f*** you just for being polite or asking questions :(    These scammers are a vry sad breed indeed!

It is a scam.
The government does not offer grants to individuals for personal use.
It is a scam ran by off shore con artists to trick you into sending unrecoverable money to them, you get nothing in return.

The only legitimate avenue for government grants is through www.grants.gov which is the official US government webs site for grants.
From their FAQ concerning fraud:
http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/support/general-support/grant-fraud.html

Please note the following:

No government grant-making agency will make phone calls; send email or letters to solicit money or personal banking information from a potential grant recipient.
There are no processing fees for federal grants.
Federal grants are not issued for personal use, but are intended for institutions and non-profits to carry out projects with a public purpose.
Know who you're dealing with on the web.  Scam artists will often post a website with a name similar to a legitimate site.
If you have provided personal banking information to anyone claiming to be associated with a Federal grant agency, call your bank immediately to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

If you receive a call, mail, email, FAX, or any other form of communication soliciting you for a grant, STOP.
It is a scam.
Report it to the FTC:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0113-government-grant-scams

File a complaint with the FTC. If you think you may have been a victim of a government grant scam, file a complaint with the FTC online https://ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ , or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters Internet, telemarketing, identity theft, and other fraud-related complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure online database available to hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad.

This number is obviously a scam by ready the comments. I just got a call from a man with a heavy Indian accent and he was asking for a man's name that I know used to have this number before me (because I get calls for him alot) and I politely explained to him that man is no longer at this number. The Indian man responded F*ck You F*ck You!! And then he hung up...

If your phone has no way to block numbers, possibly your service provider does, otherwise you may need to purchase a blocking device, if the calls bother you enough. It is NOT a good idea to answer these calls, and CERTAINLY not a good idea to return their calls, as both will ASSURE you of INCREASED calls.

Have tried calling back and get the all circuits are busy recording.. it has become very annoying as it has been going on for days. This number has called me multiple times a day. Sometimes I answer and they hang up. Finally I talked to someone who tried to tell me I was getting federal grant money. After a minute of me not being able to understand what she was saying, I asked her to remove me from this calling list, and she replied "no."

they called and said I was approved to receive a $8400 grant and that they are calling from the US Treasurey Department and wanted to verify where I lived at, they then gave an address that was wrong, so I told them that IF they were from the government and I was getting this grant due to paying taxes, then they would have known the correct address and then I hung up on then before they could hang up on me. This is getting really tiring to continually have someone call and try to get personal info from me.

When this person calls, I can hear their TV playing in the background.  They ask for me by my name and not my full name.. (odd?). I've said WHO IS THIS? The woman sounds African American and she gets really cocky and hangs up on me.  But the thing is, this "District of Columbia" caller calls about 12x a day!!!???  At one point when I finally got her to have a conversation, she asks me questions that don't make any sense and I finally told her, look lady I don't know who the hell you are or what your intentions are but you have the WRONG number.  I have to call my cell provider to have this number blocked.  So sick of these fudgin' foreigners trying to rip off us Americans..

I have received several calls from them on my work phone which is a Push To Talk and is used only by drivers and managers at my work.  I always answer with my name and business and they hang up instantly I have never managed to speak to anyone in any of the dozens of calls I have received.  I am getting very irritated with the amount of times they call.

Called my cell phone, Said he was working with the U.S. Gov't issuing Grants for $8000+( heavy Indian Accent) and I was selected from 13000 ppl. to receive one, I asked how was I selected he replied:  Because of paying taxes on time, not filing bankruptcy in the past 6 months, having a credit report of over 800, I stopped him there and told him there must be a mistake, I can't afford to have my own phone, I borrowed this one from a friend, so I can have communications available for my health, and my credit rating is so bad it's way on the bottom of the chart and I am on a set income and haven't paid in taxes for 10 years, and am always late on my bills, So this must be a mistake  (lol I'm lying thru my teeth at this and screaming laughing inside).

He Hung Up On Me, How RUDE!!!! I listened to him.

Be aware and talk to them as you would a friend but make complaints about bills and health and anything they are saying like credit reports etc. If you speak on a mono-toned scale they will hang up & the best part no $$$$ for them. LOLOLOL
