Numerous call from this Number  202-733-6943, all hang ups

If you go to the DNC  List website (www.donotcall.gov) you will see that ALL PRE-RECORDED MESSAGES (with exceptions for emergencies and medical calls, for instance) ARE ILLEGAL.

I HIGHLY recommend you FILE A COMPLAINT with this website, which you CAN DO for this reason, EVEN IF your number is not registered with the DNC list.  You can also complain to the FTC.  They REALLY want to track down these calls.  So, SNITCH of these SOBs!

This number called AGAIN today but GOT ZAPPED by our new Call Blocker!  LOVE IT!  Their robodialer never will know what hit it!

Just wish our device sent 10,000 volts of electricity to zap whatever is on the other end, be it machine or human!

Mr. Number (www.mrnumber.com) reports that THIS IS NOT A VALID NUMBER, and therefore likely SPOOFED, which usually means SCAM.  Other's say that caller claimed to be representing some (PHONY) Veteran's group.
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.

We received this call Tu. 12/3/13 at 7:20.  Didn't answer; no message left.  Its interesting that they claim to be a Veteran's charity.  If they are supposedly located in FL they WHY are they using a NYS phone #?  Likely SPOOFED which smells of SCAM.
We also got a call on a PRIVATE pre-paid cell this week from 661-724-1970.  Also didn't answer but others online reported THAT one was also posing as a "Veteran's" Charity.  That area code is CA.

BEWARE this time of year especially when a lot of charities are trying to encourage end of year donations for 'the giving season' as well as people's tax donations.  SCAMMERS capitalize on this by using 'sympathy buzz words' like "Veterans", "Cancer" or other illnesses, "Babies/Children", The Elderly, etc in order to knee-jerk GUILT you into forking over your cash or credit information without thinking and without checking things out carefully.

The best policy is to (1) NOT ANSWER these calls or, if you must then (2) Tell ALL CALLERS you DO NOT GIVE to unknown, unverifiable entities over the phone.  If enough people do this then the LEGIT charities will get the message and stop using telemarketing to solicit and then the rest of the calls will all be SCAMS that we can ignore and the Feds can go after!

Calls and calls did leave a message this time via a recording telling me to hit or hit this is not what the phone was invented for it should be up to the caller to remove me after several not ans..I hope some in our so called goverment attacts this problem and stops worrong about the rest of the world.I wish criminal charges could be inforced for manitory jail for the worker on the phone and the companies chief officers.I am tired and about to give up my phone - it is getting too much DAILY and WEEKLY and MONTHY.   HEPL

I am the state president of the Vietnam Veterans of America in MA.  Some of our members have been getting calls looking for donations from this number.  All of my members are now warned this is a scam.  We will be reporting this to the state AG today.  These creeps are giving legit veterans organizations a very bad name and it is frustrating to deal with.  Please be ware.  You can check our website at VVA.org.

Called at 7:20 the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  Shame on whoever it is.  At least wait until the holiday weekend is over with.

They are incessant. Call everyday and tonight at 8:45 pm. Always "Hello"...."Hello". I never pick up this sort of call.

They called, I didn't answer, no message was left

Interesting.. you call back... you get a HELLO... then when you speak,  a recorded voice says they are Americans  Veterans support Foundation and that the call will be recorded... DEPENDING on what you say, the machine recognizes happy or angry.. I played along.. they want a pledge of $55 or $40...  When you agree to one of these, the recorded voice sounds surprised and says if your comfortable with that pledge - I said "yes".... then I got a "GREAT".. let me transfer you to our records department...  Then real operator comes on the line. You can hear the other operators in the back ground grubbing for your money....  My goodness, what a waste of voice recognition technology .......

Probably very little.  Most of the money obtained via telephone solicitations goes to the owners of the call centers and very little to the actual charity.

Call them back... Blocker your caller ID  (*67) then dial 202-733-6943 ... a guy with a heavy voice answers Hello.. (I don't say anything.). he keeps saying Hello....   that should tie him up a bit!!!

That should be 'American Veterans Support Foundation'.  So many similar names. BBB says they are really located in FL.

They say they are the Americans Veterans Foundation and linked to the Vietnam Veterans Foundation.  But it is interesting that you can't find an official website associated with this phone number. I am trying to find out what percentage of the money they take in goes where it is supposed to go.

Caller ID is Washington, DC - it might be the scammers that say you owe back taxes.   They called me from a different number before.
