Call came from Washington D.C. to Kansas 17:28 -J on 3-27-2014. Call not answered and no message left  Caller ID said Wireless Caller. Comments from others confirm slug status.

They are wasting their time!  Most people have caller ID and don't answer unknown calls.
Such an annoyance!

When I saw "wireless caller" and a '202' area code - knew it had to be a scam.  So I picked up the phone and yelled "NOT NOW, THE YANKEES ARE ON".  Then I just hung up.  I know they didn't care, but it made me feel better.

Unwanted call

I have call ID and above this phone number is V40114414500304.  Don't know what that means. But I don't answer because I don't know the number. And they never leave a message. Probably a machine that randomly calls numbers and is someone trying to scam money out of people. So sad that some people give their info to strangers and get their bank accounts emptied out. Banks should be able to stop such withdrawals. I did answer this number once months ago and no answer until after I said hello 3 times and it was a guy from India who could pronounce my first name, which is Michelle, so I yelled "stop calling me" and hung up. Still get that number every week though.

Called about 7:30 PM.  When I answered phone, there was a long pause, and a man asked for me by name.  After I said, "Yes," there was another pause.  A woman's voice on a recording said, "This call may be monitored for quality assurance"  etc., etc.  Then the spiel began, in the man's voice.  He was presenting a sorrowful list of veteran's woes, and I started talking three times, to politely tell him that I do not conduct financial matters over the telephone.  He would not stop talking to hear what I had to say, and at that point I realized I was attempting to talk with a recording, and I hung up.

Hung up when machine answered.  I never answer calls when I do not recognize calling number and/or calling
party is unidentified. I I also keep a running list of  these numbers.

Got this call on my home phone.  Didnt answer call but Googled the number and got here.  Wow!  So sad to be preying on people's altruistic natures.  For shame!!  Thank you to All who posted comments... we need more consumer advocacy in the country

How can I not receive all these calls.  It is really annoying.  Is there a number where I can call and  report now wanting to be annoyed.  Horrible!!!!!

This is just another scam where most of the money if not all goes into the pockets of the callers. If this was legit, why would the be using a cellphone to call? They would be calling from a real office and the name of the organization would come up on your caller ID. You block their number and a few months later, they are using a new number and a new name to steal yor money.

I've been getting numerous calls from this number but have not answered.  I'm at work most of the time when they call so they must also be hanging up when my answering machine kicks on.  I decided to Google the number and got here.  Glad to know it's just a scam.  

caller requesting donation to Vets Foundation....I hung-up.......Scam or No Scam, it's sad to think that anyone would blindly offer their financial information to a stranger on the phone.  Evidently there's plenty of gullible people that do .....otherwise these idiots would not be calling us.

Called several times I did not pick up.No name on caller I.D.

I have been getting multiple calls allegedly from this number. Finally answered tonight out of boredom. There was a beep noise. I said "Hello?" and put the phone on speaker. About 30 seconds later, a man's voice came on. Once he established that he had a human on the line, he claimed to be from "the American Veterans Support Foundation." I hung up. The only "Veterans Support Foundation" I could find online spent nearly as much on salaries and they granted out.
