When I answered the phone, several seconds later they hung up without saying a word. So I called them back and when he answered, I gave him the air horn. Bet he doesn't call back here again.

I have been getting these calls for over a year now. I am sick and tired of it.  I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST, so I am baffled as to why I am still getting them.

I am ready to take legal action if I continue to receive these calls.

Please fix this major problem.

Called at 3pm today. I did not answer. No voice mail.
Caller ID was some long number starting with a V.

These people from Washington, DC need to leave me the heck alone.  I got a call and they hung up.  But, seriously.

Claims to be IRS. I checked with the IRS they say they make phone calls like these. Urgent IRS matters are through certified mail.

Just got a call from them; called yesterday as well.  Did  not answer yesterday; no msg left.  Today I answered after about 3 rings.  No one was on the line.  WTF?

I called back with my # blocked after getting several calls from 202-817-2940. the man answered saying it was the American Veterans Support Foundation. He wanted a donation to help hospitalized and homeless veterans.

From what I've read, the American Veterans Support Foundation only contributed 12 % to 14% of the $4.3MM plus they received last year in contributions. I'm ALL for supporting our great veterans, but I expect more than just $7 of a $50 donation to go to veteran aid. I don't understand how 86% of the income from a 501(c)(3) organization can be designated as "operating expenses."  The two veteran organizations that have an A rate from the American Institute of Philanthropy, a national charity watchdog group.are the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and Fisher House Foundation.  That's where my donation money goes.

I did not answer as I had another call.  No caller ID, did not leave voice mail.

Seriously, do you think that if it goes to voice mail they don't make the connection that it's a good number? LOL! If you answer it or your voice mail answers it, IT'S STILL AN ANSWERED CALL!!

Just got a call.  They hung up after 5 rings.

Caller attempting to solicit donations for "veterans". Even after repeated requests for caller to stop and clearly identify himself and the organization he was speaking for I simply hung up. Nothing but a motor mouthing con artist! Caller ID showed out-of-area.

I'm on the do not call register.  How do you report these callers?  Is there no penalty if abused?  What good is the register if there is no way to report or stop the calls.

This number called me about 1 he ago.  Did not leave message.  The ID said " out of area"

It is also a scam where the person claims to be from Microsoft and that your computer is messed up, has a virus, all that good stuff.  Please don't answer.  They keep calling me with different phone numbers.

Just got a call from this number ad it came across s a cell phone number.  Was one I did not recognize so let it go answering machine.  Have looked this number up and I am reading everywhere it is some Veterans wanting donations and it comes from out of DC.  I do not answer calls that cannot tell me who they are and if they come across as unknown name and number I have them blocked on my phone.  Best thing I could have done was invested in a phone that had call blocking on it.

I called the number back a a person answered. If went into a pitch to donate to veterans. I tried to stop him and finally did. Asked him who this company was and he gave me the name so fast I could write it down. After 3 tries to write it down I said take me off you list and he said he would. I doubt that will happen.

Just got a call from 202-817-2940, a Washington, DC number. Deep voiced man said he was called from the American Veteran's Support Organization. He was very persistent and while he was talking, I Googled it. Found fines and complaints from State of Tennessee. A similar-sounding group, Veteran's Support Organization exists but may not be the same.
Scanners often use titles preying on your patriotism. Charity Navigator is a good site to check on the creds of any real "charity."

on do not call list tired of bein harassed by these calls that show up on my caller id unknown caller .

got a call caller id said caller unknown dnt no who it is im on the do not call list so y r these nuts harassing me .

I have a phone where I can store up to 50 numbers. Supposed to be for friends as a directory. I put all these scammer numbers in and set the ringer to off. They can call and the phone lights up but i do not have to listen to it ringing. eventually the morons figure out nobody is going to talk to them.
