This number is part of a hacking scam.  Do not pick up on these calls.  Take a very good look at your cell phone bills, and see if you are getting extra charges.  These calls come in from all over the country and when you call them back, it is not a working number.  Prisoners used to do this many years ago, and tap into your phone for an "outside" line.  I get 10-15 calls  day from unknown numbers.  AT& T and Verizon is very well aware of this situation.  but they won't outright tell you.  I saw the story on Fox News and contacted AT& T but you have to force the situation with them.

To make the registry more effective you must actually file complaints - that is what the FTC uses to determine who the abusers are - they are not mind readers.
Complaints can be filed at the site used to register numbers and other info is there also.

Received call from this number on 2/7/2012 at 5:26 pm on my cell phone and no message was left.  Comes up Atlantic City, NJ on caller id.

I got a call on my cell, I called it back and a recording said I was called to participate in a survey, but now the survey is closed.  The message then said Press 2 not to participate or simply hang up.

They called my cell on Feb 7. I am on Do Not Call. Husband says it doesn't matter if we are or not, because automatic callers just dial randomly until they get a number that rings. Is this true? Or did someone get my number? I never use it for entry forms or anything public.

How do you know its Verizon?  I got called on 2/07 also.  Never answered because I didn't recognize the number.  I've also been getting a Verizon call (different number though) on my home phone too.  I haven't been home to answer it.

Filed a complaint, On the do not call list, never gave them authorization to call

Called me last night on my cell but i didn't answer; called the # today and it said i was called to participate in a survey but the survey time was expired; said to press 2 if i didn't want to participate in any future surveys...tried over and over pressing 2 but the message just kept repeating,.......convenient.

609-318-3363 called my cell phone at 2:30pm yesterday.  I don't answer if I don't know who it is so I hit ignore, no message was left so I have no idea who it was from.  I called the number back and it does not indicate a company but does state that it was for a survey but that the survery has expired.

Rec'd one call yesteday. Hung up.

You do not own the telephone number you lease it with the service; you can block if you have the capability; however you are probably wasting your time and equipment...these people are up to no good and most of the time if you do not answer and wait 2-3 minutes, call number back [block yours if have capability] you will find this isn't a working number...they have selected a number that is in a working aera code and nnx [nnx is the prefix of the telephone number for example  this number 609 318 3363...609 is the aera code, 318 is the nnx] they have equipment that they can program the number to send.....best thing to do is ignore call or answer with out saying anything and start depressing buttons on your telephone and the tones will make their call drop or sometimes mess up equipment and lets hope it  ruins it.....

A note on Unwanted Calls.  Our world is changing.  Sadly - The 'Do Not Call' list only works with Legitimate Telemarketers but unfortunately does not apply to. Survey's, Charities and of course, Criminals. These Criminals have various kinds of ploys.  Some hide behind Surveys and Charities and of course the two big ones are Debt Collectors and Low Interest offers.The only way to avoid these calls is DO NOT RESPOND because if you do respond you will not only continue to be harassed by the same caller but your number will be sold to other harassers now that they know you are a live Human Being with a real phone number.  Another sad note is that even if you do respond to a legitimate Survey or Charity - you will be placed on what I refer to as a 'Sucker List' and your number will be passed to and fro for all to enjoy, including the criminals.  Again, our world has changed and responding to any of these callers only places us at risk for who knows what?" The only way to avoid is Caller ID and/or a phone that can 'Block' callers who will not stop.

Good luck with that! I think they use the DNC list for active numbers! Anyway DNC won't or can't do anything!!

Cell numbers are now covered by the Do Not Call List.  Getting them to enforce reported violations is another matter.
