I have been getting same messages but with diff # 202-827-0660 her name is Tami Hages I'm calling the federal trade commission..

Do not accept any calls from these people. It is a scam. They will call and threaten u saying a sheriff will come to your home and arrest you if you do not send the money to them. A lady may call by the name of "jennifer lee". I felt eery after the fact i didnt get a email or regular mail from her confirming she got the money we sent. Now we are out of 700.00. Dont take those calls!!!!!!!

Got a call this morning stating i was going to be arrested for check fraud if i dont pay them 504.00 within two hurs but refuse to give info just said something about a payday loan.i ask this lady where she from she said district 12 washington dc. She also said i was going to be arrested at my job or hoise anybody got info on them

My call was from Mike Carter at 202-827-0702 but everything else was the same. Thanks for all the info here cause nothing came back when I searched my number. I guess they are trying a new one. With me they never asked a person in the voicemail when I kept asking who they were calling they said disregard the voicemail and hung up on me.  Just not all the way, he clicked over and said hello. When I said hello he hung up again.

Got a phone call from Jennifer Goodwin, on my daughter I haven't seen in 4 years. Said they were sending paperwork in to prosecute today.... Name of company or whatever is J.P. Associates. She said my daughter wrote a bad check in the state of Illinois, but she never had a checking account in Illinois. I was very nice to her, and she was very rude. PLEASE STOP THESE PEOPLE FROM HARRASSING ME AND OTHER PEOPLE OVER ALL 50 STATES. More especially when you know it is a scam call............... HELP!!!!

Try something funny like when she calls, tell her to hold on a sec while you patch your Attorney in on this call.

Also, a bull horn (as loud as possible) in the the phone works as well.

Just received a message as well.  Sounds like a scam!  I'm not calling them back. The messsage, said "refer to your file number" and left no further information?  This means, if I call back I must give them my personal information etc.
not playing into their game!

Keep getting this harassing voice recorded message for some sort of check recovery deal.

Left message on my machine from Check Recovery Group. Called back and message box was full. Checked around the net and others are getting harassed by these guys for no good reason. General consensus has been it's some kind of scam. If you get a call from this number DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION!
And you might want to report it to your local attorney general just for good measure.

Got the same message as many did but it was left electronically but the content was the same.   Totally unrelated but I was offered an interview within a two hour window the an account that I'd never heard of.

Got a call from a Jennifer Goodwin stating that I had a bad check that was returned (from who I dont know she would not state from where) and that I should  have my attorney present the next time I called.  I tried calling from another phone and got a v/m which stated that her inbox was full.  The last time I called a woman picked up with a "yea" instead of announcing the place of business and put me on hold for over 5min so I just hung up.  I dont know who this woman is but she will not get a penny out of me.

I received a call first from Obrian wexler and associates claiming the same thing. I asked for the. Paperwork and they emailed me a phony email with nothing on it.. coincidentally I received a call from 202-837-0700 and its the same thing from a different person.. this morning someone called my number private and she said she had a court order for me.. that I was being sued.. then she asked for my address.. my understanding is that if u were getting served they'll just show up and serve u..

Got the same call.  Report this number to the Fair Trade Commission immediately!  I've received TWO!  Real legit companies will send you a letter.

I got the same call. And when I returned it, got a VM recording of "Jennifer Goodwin".
Message left was a recording of a male saying in a ponderous voice, meant to intimidate, that he was from the "Check Recovery Group" calling about a check returned by my bank (not legit) and to return the call "with counsel on line".

Also told me to refer to my file number, but gave no file number to refer to - as if I would know what the file number was.

Just called Jeniffer. Did not give her any personal information. She wanted my phone number to remove it from the call que. Did not give it. I then asked for her business name and address. She asked why I needed that. I said I like to know who I'm dealing with. She gave this informstion:

Glad i checked up on this number. I was worried because i got a call from 2028270700, they left a message and it scared me. I called back but just got a voicemail and the lady's name was Jennifer Goodwin so i hung up. I dont write checks but i thought i screwed up somewhere. Thanks all, im just going to avoid this number.

I got a call this morning at 8am...from this number.  When I answered I got a recording that said i needed to contact the bad check division immediately and that it was not a soliciation call.
I was worried of course and contacted my bank.  There were no bad checks stated on my account.
Be careful if you give out info to these people...im sure its a scam!

Well lets tell Ms. Goodwin that she is violating the Fair Debt Collections & Practices Act by threatening people first of all, by not providing any information secondly so lets stop being bullied by these rip off artists.

I did receive a call right after I signed up for Google Voice (coincidence?), didnt say who they were calling for and also said to refer to file # but did not give it. So let them call me back.. I left a message and will tell her I will sue her for violating my rights under Ohio's Fair Debt Collection & Practices Act in accordance with the Statutes of the State of Ohio.  Hahahaha bring it on b****h...

I was called by Katherine Harrington from a 202 827 1010 number she left a message stating she was from the fraud department and that I could have my lawyer present. I called back and was then transferred to this guy who goes by the name Adam Frost I was told I had 2hrs to pay the money or I would be arrested. This freaked me the hell out but after talking to family and friends and reading the different posts on here this has to be an action of fraud. My question is who do I report this to?

So one named Jennifer Goodwin called my number for my son, when I called her and asked to be put on the do not call list she said that they would keep calling, she then hung up on me. I called back and asked her if she hung up on me and she stated that she did and I told her that I was going to report her and hung up on her.  My son doesn't have a checking account and does not write checks so i know it's a lie.

This is a fraud. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT give Jennifer ANY personal information.

I have received the same call. I have talked to several people who say she cannot do what she is saying she will do.  I'm not too worried about it. She threatens to prosecute if you don't pay the amount due within 2 hours. As far as I know...they have to give you a longer time frame to pay.
