When I asked for the call back number they gave the right IRS number, but urged me that it has to resolved in another 45 minutes. IRS will never do that.

I received a call yesterday that says it coming from Washington D.C and the number is 202 864- 1159 and there's a guy named Shyam Davis and he says he's from the I.R.S and he was saying that we were doing tax return fraud which apparently we never did that. He was talking so brutally and harsh to my mother and making her thinking that she had done tax return fraud. He has said we have to pay $3800 by going to walmart and pay them. It is all fake the real I.R.S wouldn't do that for a fact. Just make sure a guy names Shyam Davis with a thick Indian accent is calling you with a Washington D.C area code and name. he speaks with a thick Indian accent. Don't listen to him or give any personal information.

Call was from Dist. of Columbia, claiming to be from IRS with a case against me. I have received 5 calls from this number of which I had not answered and they did not leave a message. Some of the calls were from 202-864-1159. When I did answer, they said they had sent me 3 letters, to my correct address. I ask for a name and number to call back, I said I had a bad line. They gave me the number on the caller ID and said with a heavy Indian accent his name was "Shawn Davis". At this point we both hung up.

These people are scammers. I told them that I will call the Police on them and they told me to go ahead and went on hold. I called my local Police department's detective but it took me 3 minutes to get hold of him. The caller waited for about 2 minutes and then hung up. The detective told me that he cannot do anything and it is a misdemeanor not a felony when someone threatens you over the phone with non body harming consequences. He advised me to call Better business bureau.

Others are right about the origin. The accent was very Indian and there was a lot of background noise like a call center would have. Don't talk to these people at all. If it was IRS, they would send you a legal notice or letter, not give your number to a call center operated collection agency.

I have been getting calls from this number for the past week, no one is on the line.

I just received a voice mail from 202-864-1136 claiming to be from the IRS and that the matter is urgent and I need to call back and not take the matter lightly.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I have been getting calls from this number. they are speaking hindi in the background. and they have thick indian accents. they threatened me and told me i'll be arrested if I don't pay them $2500.00 right then. WHAT THE HELL! who are these ppl?
