Your scummy calls are the least of the problem.

Charity navigator rates your outfit 0 out of 5 stars. And the real purpose of the calls is to line the pockets of the scum that run the boiler room errr I mean "call center" (LOL). According to them, your fundraising eats more than 54% of your take, with the rest going to "administrative expenses" and so forth (BTW is that before or after the boiler room operation gets its cut) --with maybe a few cents left over so you can publish some fluffy press releases to make it look like you're a real charity. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting. Shame on you for coming on this site and LYING about it.

Caller id came up as anonymous, but it was the AICR scammers, who take money away from legitimate charities.This is a  "cancer charity" scam!!!

Seeing you don't know who the caller was I will tell you. It was the "American Institute For Cancer Research" (AICR), a very questionable "charity", where the chariman "Melvin" Hutson and the boys  use little or any of the donated monies for the advertised purpose. Where the great majority of the donated money goes to is a question that would have to be presented to "Melvin"

Also received Calls from this area code. Don't know anyone from this area code so I blocked the whole area code.

This number  202 888-2764  AICR call several times avery day, no mesages,.

Mine said private caller and the the phone rung 3 minutes later and it was AICR same bunch I'm pretty sure.

Got a call too from this idiot, don't know how to leave a message I presume but not a legitmate business person or would leave message, I never answer these calls anyway.

I also received a call from the above number. But, my caller ID said: Private Caller(as if that would make me pick up the phone). No message left..just the usual annoying hangup. Remember the good old days before telemarketers when the phone would ring and you were excited because someone was calling? Oh....never mind..that was in 1950(LOL).

AICR says they are cancer research.  They say they do not want money but want me to send letters to others living on my street to get money from them.    AICR should get an office staff to do this; I am not their personal secretary.  I didn't retire to sit at home and get calls like this from charities, medical organizations, etc.   I have a lift!  GET A REAL JOB YOU FREAKING IDIOTS.  Every time they call, I say "no" and do not call again but they ignore me.

That's how it was set up and what it was intended to do.   Legitimate and registered with the FTC Businesses purchase the list so that they can honor it.  Those exempt don't have to.   Scofflaws will never honor it because they don't have to.

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!
