Verizon trying to get you back as a customer. Did you recently cancel an account with them?  They're pulling the same stunt on me.  Don't answer your phone, they'll go away eventually.  Annoying though.

been calling for the past 2 days, no message

I thought it was a wrong number, but now I will keep an eye out for repeat calls and hang-ups.

They just called my ATT cell number, only they left a message. Was for someone else and left a call back number 800-523-8573. Lady was actually pleasant and said she'd remove the number from the call list.

It's Verizon Wireless, and the odd thing is that they call my home number, not my cellphone number. I cancelled Verizon Wireless and switched to AT&T because of the iPhone. Now they are harrassing me to come back. SOOOO annoying.

I just got a call from this number, it was a Verizon courtesy call regarding my recent upgrade to a Blackberry.  Just asked if I was happy with it, and if I was told about such and such function and so forth.

It was a real person (passed my push-a-button to leave voicemail test) from Verizon Wireless calling to thank me for activating my new modem and thank me for being such a valuable customer. Gave their return number for any questions as 800-669-4642.

I haven't done business with verizon in 8 years, and never with my current phone number. Must be a wrong number.

got this call today, it is verizon wireless, my contract with them is almost over (thank goodness) They want to talk me into another 2 years i think.

I got a call from Verizon that I did not pick up (I do not pick up calls from unrecognized numbers). A message was left thanking me for activating a Blackberry and asking me to call back and answer some questions. I did not activate a Blackberry and was concerned that somebody made an account in my name (which is 100% unique, I am the only one with my name in the world at the moment). I called back and explained that I wanted to check if there was an active account in my name (I used to have an account with Verizon but not for the last couple years). I gave my name and state and then the rep wanted my other information. I was hesitant and asked him why they need my address and social to simply let me know if there was an active account in my name. He stated that Verizon does not give out account information without completing the security procedure of taking all your personal information. I explained that I was sure that I was the only person with this name and just wanted to make sure no sort of fraudulent activity took place in my name. He again stated that without giving more personal information he would not tell me. I asked him his name, he said Chad. I asked him his last name and he said that he will not tell me. Then I asked him for his address and social security number and hung up. Afterwards I looked up their number online, 203 514 5000, and found out that they are Verizon telemarketers that call former customers. What really bugged me was that they entice you to call back by alarming you to possible fraud. So not cool.

Haven't cancelled, or got a new phone. Called the number back. It's the main number for Verizon, they have three divisions, where they try to win back cancelled accounts, promotional stuff and quality assurance of something like that.

My plan expired back in October and haven't gone to renew since. Waiting until the phone dies before I figure out what I want to do....

Just recived the call as well. Cancelled my verizon plan on friday after work. Missed the call at work, they left no message, and no call back yet..

Please stop calling.

Got the call just now.  Don't know who it is because no message was left.  It might be Verizon...? I have not canceled my account but will in 5 days when my contract is over.  I can't wait! I have not mentioned the cancellation to Verizon yet though.  Maybe they are aware of my contract date and wants to keep me as a customer.  No thanks!!!

I recently had received a call from this number. It was a reprentative from verizon calling to practically thank me for my purchase/extending my plan. I was asked if i had any questions or needed help with my new smartphone, as well as informed of several services with free trials.

Overall the call was very pleasant. Very nice and helpful representative.

I canceled my plan as well and got the call a couple days later. I didn't answer either.

The "data team" called because I just got a new phone.  The strange part was that they didn't call my cell phone.

It's Veri$on hassling me after I cancelled their lousy plan. VERIZON WIRELESS SUCKS especially around Philly.

I cancelled my Verizon Wireless to go account because my first bill was huge! Had no idea it would be so high. It was my last day to cancel and thank goodness I did because I would have had to pay a $175 fee on top of that the next day.  How evil.  Now they are harrassing me every day by calling but not leaving any messages.  Gotta love corporations and their disrespectful methods of trying to win you back.

It is verzion and they are calling to try to win you back a customer. They are offering some sweet deals and cash to come back. It is almost worth it to cancel and let them call you back

Verizon wireless re: cancellation

Was called today (Wed, Feb 27) at 01:14 PM (EST).  I did not pick up.  The call may pertain to the cancellation of my service plan on Mon, Feb 25.

Same here. They called at 11AM and I didn't answer it. No message was left.
