I also keep getting this number on my caller ID. I don't answer but it shows they leave a voicemail only to find no message. I decided to call it back and ask them to stop calling but all I got was a recording, male voice saying, "CCT 52". Does this make sense to anyone else?

I recieved a call from my mother this morning and almost didn't answer it because the caller ID showed 203-740-5522 CCT.  She only lives 5 miles from me.  I had her call me back and the caller ID showed her number but it said unknown name. She has Vonage as a telephone company. Does anybody have any answers to this mystery?

My mother is getting calls from this number.  Found out by accident as my niece uses the call back number to see if her boyfriend called while mom was at lunch.  My concern is that how do we stop this.  My mother is legally blind and  will hurry to get to the phone.  Am concerned she may injure herself thinking that it is an emergency from her kids or grandkids.

I just received a call at work from home and it shows this number on my caller ID.  We have VOIP at home, so I am thinking it has to do with that?  I guess we will wait and see if it happens again!

I checked this number out as I too have gotten calls from it with no message left. Our small business has been riddled with miscellaneous calls of questionable nature from various areas. It seems the phone rings constantly!It is a VOIP Connecticut Gateway that calls are processed through. So is not actually a phone you can call.

I also have received several calls from this same number. On my caller ID the name Nancy Owens comes up. I have no idea who this person is as I have never been to Connecticut.

Someone or something called, and when I answered it, I received dead air on the phone line after a few minutes. So, in the past I have worked on Telemarketing systems. These autodialers will call from a computer database. If it is working "correctly" you will get a call, then there will be a pause for about 3 sec. before you hear a click and then you are transfered to an agent... or a recorded message of some sort. I waited to hear the "click" on my phone call and there was none. The "click" happens only when your call is switched to an agent. If it doesn't happen, then the dialer is just running and making these calls. This is done sometimes by some companies to "validate" if the phone number is a "working" number or not. The computer will record this information as it is working from a list of numbers to call.
The "Caller ID" is a joke, because the company can display anything that they want displayed... even "IRS" or something like "Bank One Collections" for your "Caller ID" to display. I called the number back and received the "CTT 52" message that others have reported. Oh, by the way, "Area Codes" are not always where the call came from (e.g. Brookfield, CT (203)740-5522). - Remember, you can have your "Caller ID" message displayed as anything! This falls in the area of "Locks are only keep honest people honest"...the same with the "Caller ID" message you receive. -Cheers R.

I received a call from my sister. She lives in North Carolina.  The caller id said-Private Caller-1-203-740-5522.  This is not her number.  What is going on.  I don't like this.

I keep getting calls from this number , and no one says anything. After awhile they just hang up, and hours later they call back.

When I make a call, 203-740-5522 CCT-Gateway  shows up on the caller ID of the person I called,

I saw a lost call tonigh and the number was 203-740-5522, I call back and just heard the message cct52 and then hung up. They called to my cellphone.

Update I called Southern New England Telecommunications Corporation
310 Orange St.New Haven, CT 06510CT Tel. 203-771-5200 who is the Subsitary of AT&T which reffered me to AT&T Complaint department. They reffered me to FCC which stated that they can't do anything unless there is Telemarketer. It is no wonder people like this keep going and going. I going to keep a lound whisle handy for the next call from this Jerk.

I called them but they were closed. Igoing to call them they should be able to look up the information or disconnect the number.

My brother is on medicaid and just got a call from these people saying that they were medicaid. They wanted his bank acct #. From my online searches they are scammers and crooks

CCT is short for Circuit. Obviously its a scam, and other long distance numbers get caught in the circuit and show up as CCT52 and its a friend.  The frauders use CCT 52 with no answering service so they can scam you and you cant call back.

I got the same call on my cell this morning and I live in virginia beach.  i called it back and got that same message....I think i'm going to change my cell phone number............If anyone finds out what this is let us know

Recieved a call between 5 and 6 o'clock.  They asked to speak with me and then hung up.  I work for a voip company and will report it tom. morn.  It appeared to be telemarketing call.  I to returned the phone call and got cct52 and a hang up.  Not sure what is up with it.

recvd on business phone that was forwarded to cell. no message but looked up area code it is in connecticut and looked up prefix and it is in brookfield.

When I call someone with my number blocked it shows 230-740-5522 on the persons caller ID

I responded to an add on craigslist for a 1 week sublet 2 bedroom condo.  When I arranged to speak with this person, he called from this number: 203.740.5522.  Thanks for posting, I obviously won't sublet from this dude.

We get a call from this number several times a week, but no one ever answers back when we answer or when we try to call them back.  It is getting annoying.

I got two calls from my mom with the phone number but didn't answer because it was an odd number. She left messages on my answering machine wondering why I didn't pick up. The third time she called me it came up as a regular phone number. She uses Vonage.

I got a call last night from 1-203-740-5522. He said he was contacted by a fraud agent in Germany and said that my Name, My Street address(but he said the country was in the U.K. not the U.S.), My DOB, My mother's maiden name and my SSN  were being used to get credit cards and mortgage loans totaling over $200,000. **He knew all of the above information**. He suggested that a make a police report, do a credit check on myself and call my credit card company and have a fraud alert placed on my account. I called his number back this morning and got "CCT52".
  Six weeks ago someone called my credit card company claiming to be me. He had my card #, My address, My SSN and My mother's Maiden name. He could not verify previous addresses so the credit card company closed the account.
  I think this is related to the phone call last night. He may have been phishing and verifying information that he already had. He said he would call back today with more information for me to go to the police with. No  call so far

Basically it's either from phone card, vonage or any voip, and it varies based on the connection line.

have been receiving calls from this number for months now... just tried returning the call today... ANNOYING--- CCT52, hang up...

I received a call from this number today (Thursday, July 19, 2007) while I was not home. This number showed on my caller ID but the message on my answering machine was blank. I called back but only heard CCT52 and then the call disconnected. I've been searching online and I believe this to be a telemarketing scam or something of that nature. I think the number should be traced and the caller stopped.
