This people call and don't speak. What is going on?

We received two call yesterday. I did not recognize the phone number on my caller Id so I did not answer. Try to call this morning to see who they are?????

I just got a call from this number and they did not say anything.... why waste my  minutes!!!!!!!!

They called three times and hung up without saying anything in the same day starting in the early morning and into the late evening.

I just received a hang-up call from this number, "unknown name" showed up in the caller id.  I called them back and they identified themselves as Discount Power, a new electric generation company.  The yapologized when I told them I wasn't interested.

I will just stop answering now that I've seen this.  I just called the number after getting about 10 calls over the last few days and got a message that the number was not a "legitimate extension".  What a pain.

I have been getting calls from this number for two months.  Same issues; no response on the line and if you call back you are put on hold "...you are third in line and your wait is only 15 seconds...etc., etc.,etc..." Then you are disconnected.  I finally called Discount Power in Shelton Ct. and was able to talk to a company executive: Steve Howser -203-929-3200 X-1934.  He apologized and said that the person making the calls is an agent of Discount Power who is soliciting discounted  rates lower than CL&P and UI. I informed him that I am on the no-call list and he said that
my name must have "...slipped through the cracks." Call him directly to end all calls!!!
I asked him for his home number and he refused?

As they fumbled over their script, they asked for the person that handles the UI (or "insert electric company name") bill.  When I told them they called a cell phone (my house phone forwards to my cell and I assume that is the number they called), the person hung up.  When I dialed the number back, the same person picked up, started the schpeel and then corrected herself to answer "Customer Service, how may I ..."  CLICK ON MY END!

I want them put on a do not call list! They call
my home phone several times a day.

The company is" Discount Power."  Called us several times.  We are on the No-Call list.  Asked to be taken off the call list.

I've been getting calls from this number everyday three times a day for a month when I answer no one says anything so I decided to call the number back and stay on hold for 10 minutes it was Discount Power an electrical company trying to get me to swith from United Illuminating the man got real nasty with me when I told him i would stick with who i already have and hung up on me. Oh well I hope this stops them from calling.me!

Wife had a call from this number listed as "unknown" on caller ID asking for the person in charge of electricity..    My wife answered I have electricity and hung up..    have been getting several electric providers calling this week and had one come to my door last week.   Must be trying to get customers for 1st of year..    I have a contract with Public Power located in Danbury for .0875 per kwh until next November,  hopefully its a good competitive rate which was better than CL&P's a couple months ago...

Called me twice today no answer

Got two calls this morning said hello multiple times and then the line disconnected. Seems to be some deal to try and get people to switch electric companies. Don't bother picking up.

Finally! They called again. We answered. Someone was there. Apparently, it's a solicitor trying to get you to switch your electric provider.

Some authority needs to find out who this is and take appropriate action.

They are a PIA told me that Jesus would not want me to be so rude, I told HIM that Jesus has
nothing to do with him being a BIG PIA.  I am on a DO NOT CALL LIST, why is this company
able to get through.  I will go to that web site and report this number now.

Same thing.  Went to call back to tell them to stop calling and found that they keep you on line telling you you are 3rd, 2nd, first in line only to say Goodbye when you reach next caller.

I received a call (third in the past few days) and I decided to answer.  When I said hello the woman on the other end said something like "oh" and hung up.  I called back and got that 3rd in line, 2 minute wait message so I hung up.

talked to CL&P.  These people are not calling on behalf on CL&P - they are calling to get your to switch companies.  Once you give them your name, address and reference number from your CL&P bill they can automatically switch you.  The CL&P rep gave me a website that you can go to to verify legitimate companies, see if they have been reported, if they have fixed/variable rates, etc.

said they were calling about our electric bill and we were getting a lower rate and needed to verify my information... they had my name, but then asked me to state my address. I told her to tell me what she had.  She got really nasty, telling me she could look it up in the phone book and it wasn't my SS# so just tell her the address. I said no. she said fine, not important.  Then she asked for some ref # from my CL&P bill. I said i didn't have a bill here (my husband files them at work) and couldn't... she was all revved up and said she would call back when i could give her all of this information.  Right - like I am going to tell her anything.  I am calling CL&P to verify/report these calls.
