don't know who they are or why they are calling for the elderly lady who had my number 3 years ago.  I've told the truth (she no longer has this #), I've ignored, I've told them she's dead (don't *think* that's true...) but ALABAMA has called religiously 2-3 times a week for the past 17 months!

It's an Alabama highway patrol/sherrif's department/state trooper and they'll ask for money. If you say no they will call you heartless. I feel confident in labeling them the scum of the earth.

Don't know who they are.  They call alot, most of the time I don't answer.  But when I do they will not say anything.

I personally use the word "Speaking" when an unknown caller asks for me.    So far that has worked for me.  I have yet to have anyone try to get me to say "Yes"  if they ask again looking for a yes - I will tell them you already asked that and I already answered it.

Never say yes - scammers can and DO edit their recordings to move the YES to where they want it to be in the conversation.

Just a helpful hint - NEVER say "Yes" if someone you don't know asks if you are who you are.  Say, "It is," or anything other than "yes".  If people want to be sneaky, they can tape your response and then use voice recognition technology against you.  It's tough at first, but you get used to not using the "yes" word while talking to strangers.  :-)

I just received a call from this number. They asked for me and I said "yes". Then they just hung up on me. I called the number back and it rang once and went to a cellphone voicemail.

I receive calls continuously, never leaves a message. I ignore them, if it isn't important enough to leave a message then it must be a telemarketer.

my husband answered and they asked for me, he asked who it was and thought they said Hoover Police and then they hung up on him. This umber calls constantly. I ignore the call when I see it pop up on caller id. More AL police solicitations again.

I thought charities and telemarketers weren't supposed to call on Sunday, but this number just called me, I answered because it looked like a local number and I thought it could be someone I knew, even though it said unknown name on the caller id. I said hello and got a hang up. This number will go on my list of blocked calls.

I keep getting calls from this number as well.  I say "hello" no one ever says anything.

After many hangups, someone finally talked to me asking for a donation for battered women and children.  This organization *don't remember specifically who they are* is NOT on my list of donations.  I asked to be removed from their calling list.  I just received another hangup from them!  One more and I'll call the police.  They take care of it as they have in similar situations.  Very annoying!

Caller ID says phone number and "Bessemer, Alabama"  I just hang up on them.

Caller ID reads "Alabama", I don't even answer anymore because the caller asks for someone unknown to the members of my family.
