keep getting calls from truck central

My duaghter answered and they told her it was the FBI calling about burglers in the neighborhood. They had her upset. I see other people have been getting calls from the same number trying to sell security systems. Great company that tries to scare children to sell a security system!!!!!!!

I've gotten this call several different ocassions, just now at 1537hr. They will not leave a name or message for who they want. I would like to squeeze my fist through the receiver and punch their *&#@!^+ lights out. And that goes for the others that call. Until they leave a name and who they want the answering machine will the j-o-b.

this number has called several times recently, but I always answer by clicking the # sign repeatedly (I read somewhere that this tells the caller that this is not a working number). Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work, and a few days later they call again. It is very annoying and frustrating.

I've gotten a call from these people twice this month. I am in Mobile, AL. I guess cancer really does spread if it goes unchecked!

Called, left no message. I didn't bother trying to call back after reading these posts and if they call again I'll know to register my disapproval with a brief blast from my small marine air horn directly into the mic on the handset (my standard procedure for such calls). It seems to work best when I speak very softly and act interested; the hope is that they turn up the volume on their headset to hear me better before I "express" myself.

I am in Birmingham and received the latest call on 11/29/11 @ 1:29 PM with Birmingham  AL on caller ID.  This is not the first time that this number has called me.  I guess it is time to get the PSC involved again.

Got the same phone call everyone else is getting and like everyone attempted to call back so I called 1-877-853 8083 and told them to stop the phone calls and that I was reporting them to the FTC and if I got another call from this number the next person would be an attorney.  They have even showed up at my house.

Have received several calls from 205-917-5786 for selling ADT Home Security System.
The person was asking too many Personal Information Questions about - Do I currently have a Security system, do I have spouse and kids - Really ?  Fishing for Who is home when.  Just got the feeling this is a setup.  

I did ask where the caller was from - Florida, the Number on Caller ID Birmingham, AL.  I Did notice on this post they called me back in July with GE Home Security system.

This is a SCAM - Don't give them any information, or allow them to have someone come to your house for a review.  Call the Local ADT office if you want the service/system.


And I am on the DNC List, which they seem to ignore.

I asked them why they do not pay attention to the do not call list so they called me back 5x within 30 minutes. Trying to find out how to report them for harrassment now

I am in Birmingham and have received multiple calls from this telephone number.  I was receiving repeated calls from a carpet cleaning cleaning company a couple of years ago.  I wrote to the company with no results as well as the Public Service Commission.  Only after the 2010 election cleaned out the do nothing PSC members, did I finally get results.  I wrote to the PSC as soon as the tide changed at the beginning of this year.  The folks now in power down there finally got the calling stopped.

Something needs to be done about this caller.  I am retired and feel that I deserve to have some peace in my own home.  This number calls mine excessively both day and night.  I am in Birmingham.
I am registered on the do not call list.  The list seems to make no difference. Making a complaint on the list site has no effect.   Is there no enforcement associated with this list?

Hello, We have received 2 calls from ADT after being told to have us removed from their call list. They continue to call because we are not the "Home Owners". The home owners are my grandparents. My grandparents are not interested in ADT services and do not need extra solicitation at this time from ADT. The last representative that called was EXTREMELY rude. If ADT likes to disrespect the wishes of people and be rude, we certainly would never use them even if we were interested.

Side Note: My grandfather, one of the home owners, is in the hospital. Almost died less than a week ago. When we said that my grandparents were not interested in their services, we were serious and do not appreciate having our request to be removed from ADT's mailing list lightly.

we got a call from this number. we live in calhoun county. as was stated the number stays busy.

Automated male voice trying to sell GE Home Security systems (if I put the sign out) and the system was free.

Pressing 9 to Opt out - Does Nothing, calling the 205-917-5786 back only gets you a Busy signal.

This is a SCAM.  They are not using the Do not call list (which I am on)

I have received calls from this number, too, on several occasions. I do not answer the call. And I, too, have been on the Do Not Call Registry since its inception. If, indeed, the calls are coming from ADT, or a telemarketing company working for them, then those who do not like receiving these calls, myself included, should contact the company directly. Also, keep in mind that American Express, along with more and more banks, and other companies are selling their membership lists, including information about your buying habits to other companies. These companies, in turn, feel free to call you, too, unless you contact them directly, and tell them you do not wish to receive these calls. Even then, I regret to say, there is no guarantee that they will stop the practice. Send complaints to your state's Attorney General's office, or directly to the company making the unsolicited calls. You may also file a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry, if you are receiving such calls.

The "goodbye" could be a predictive dialer. Either that or they are calling ALL numbers to see which ones are valid for future calls.

I guess the "do not call list" means nothing to them.

They called at 11:42 am on the 4th of July. Did not leave a message.  

When I later called back, got a fast busy signal.

no one spoke, then after a pause, heard a computer voice say Good bye.  I called the number back and got a fast busy signal several times.

We are getting so many calls from this number and others, who will not answer a call back or leave a message. I would very much like to have them leave me alone. This is my private phone and it is not their right or obligation to pester me, constantly!

Caller Id just says Birmingham AL, no answer. Saved the number in my phone with the ID of Pest, they'll call back.

got a call in bham from this number. I heard a loud beep then an automated voice said "goodbye"

I just got a call in Huntsville AL. Like others, no response when I answered the call.  I called back and got a busy signal.
