I have gotten @ 10 calls today and get hung up on if I answer.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

These people are so annoying it is not even funny, I have even thought about changing my phone # behind all of the harrassing calls I have been receiving from them. There has to be something that can be done, these people are clearly non american and dont give a f*** about what we think and just want our american dollars. Somehow some way this has got to stop!

If you have an iPhone 5, there is an option to block the number by pressing on that symbol to the right of the number on your list of phone numbers recently called/answered. Then the block this caller option will be the last one on the list.

they called stating i was approved for a loan and that i needed to put $150 on a vanilla reloaded card and then 1500.00 would be transferred into my account, anyway he said that they had been in business since 1997 and they were legit. His claimed his name was shawn cooper and he is clearly from india with the thick accent!!!!Why cant we stop this from happening? what about the better business bureau? I was actually dumb enough to believe the guy from the day before and lost $135 this way, anyway I am going to investigate what can be  done about this and take action, I am a single mother and this was a lot of money to me I am beyond devastated about this and hope that no one else loses money like I did!!!!!

Your number was pulled from an application for a payday advance.  

"But I never applied for a cash advance...."

Drop it, either you did or someone who used to have your number did.  It happened.  Get over it.

You probably didn't apply with them directly.  Did you submit an application and get rejected, or go to a broker type site that "partners with hundreds of lenders online" to get a loan after being turned down multiple times?  If you hit a second or third chance finance site this is probably how your information was acquired.  

"What next?"

If they have your cell number, you can block the numbers as they call you.  If you own an iPhone, there is built-in call blocking that you can use.  The caveat is they will have to call you once, or you will have to manually add the numbers one by one to your contact list and block the contact that way.  Their calls will go to voice mail, and you will have the option to listen to their messages or simply delete them.  Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy series have this function built in as well.  There are also many third-party applications and pay per use services that will provide the same or extended functionality.  

Wireless carriers may also offer limited to unlimited call restrictions for an addtional cost.  If you applied for a lot of loans, you may run out of numbers you can block.  I know AT&T, for example, only lets you block 20 at a time.  Keep in mind that restrictions rely on Caller ID to function.  Some services allow you to restrict blocked calls from coming through as well, but other times blocked calls can be made by the very people you are trying to avoid.  

If you are paranoid, change your number and never give out the new one.  Use Google Voice to make and receive phone calls, that way you can use that particular service's feature set to manage unwanted callers.  If you cannot change your number, exercise some due dilligence and research the hardware/software/service that is right for you and implement it.

A GUY CALLING FROM  THIS NUMBER 206-317-1774 CLAIMING TO BE JOHN SMITH AT EXTENSION 211 ALSO THE CALL CENTER SUPERVISOR HAS BEEN CALLING MY PHONE FOR SEVERAL DAYS!  WELL TODAY MY 10 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER ANSWERED MY PHONE AND WHEN SHE TOLD THE GUY THAT I WASNT AVAILABLE HE PROCEEDED TO TELL HER SHE IS A "STUPID LIL BI***, THAT HE COULD SEE EVERYTHING THAT WE WERE DOING AND THAT HE WAS GOING TO COME INTO OUR HOUSE AND RAPE HER AND I THEN SLIT OUR THROATS AND CUM IN OUR FACES!!!!!"
THAT IT BEYOND CALLED FOR! EVERYTHING HE SAID IS A THREAT AND THERE HAS TO BE A WAY TO GET THE FBI OR SOME AGENCY HIGHER THAN OUR LOCAL SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT INVOLVED!!!!!!

I receive numerous of Harassing phone calls from 206-317-1774. Stating I have been approved for a loan even through on my voice mail it states " Don't call me regarding any Loans as I'm not interested and don't wish to be harassed everyday

This number called several times. I eventually answered and told them to take me off their list and the guy was like no no no...I'm like what do you mean no...then he told me to take my shirt off he wanted to see my breast and nipples and some other s***. Like how do u go from loans to to just straight up being disrespectful...like that's sexual harassment!

Unfortunately, to my knowledge, there isn't anyone that we can report this to, and have something done about it.  One thing I have been doing lately, and it has been somewhat effective, is to call the numbers back...repeatedly.  I mean like 20 times, one call after the other, and hang up just as they answer.  They get tired of the hang-up calls, and have now blocked my number!  So very many of the numbers, when I call them back, are not valid numbers and I get the recordings "the number you have called is not in service," or "the Magic Jack customer you have called...."  But, occasionally, I get lucky and get a number that calls directly back to these jack***es.  So, I harass them by calling them a gazillion times, just as they do calling us.  Give them a dose of their own annoying medicine...
