This guy calling himself "officer Roy Wilson" has been calling my work with the same bit. For sure a scam! But we decided to have some fun with this guy! Doesn't take much to get him angry! He has called me some interesting names too! Haven't had a call back since but I've made sure to keep calling him! Sucks to deal with it at work but sometimes you gotta have fun with it! Beat around the bush with them and try to get them mad at you! Lots of fun to hear their reaction, always gets a good laugh! Officer Roy Wilson has actually made my work days fun now! Anybody else having any fun with this guy?

I ;had a call at work when I was really busy with people in my office from a Roy Wilson who claimed to be with the sheriff's office and gave this same # to contact him back.  The number was 206-400-6861.  He keeps calling my job harrassing me at work to the point that I can not attend to the legitimate people that need my services.  If there is anyway to stop this person, please do so.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

?Notify your banking institutions.
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

?Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
?Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
?Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
?Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
?Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
?When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

An update to this situation. The person called me back and made it look as though he was calling from the local police department. He also stated himself as being Sargent Mike Reese of that department. I told him he was impersonating someone he is not and that I would be contacting the local authorities myself. He called back again and left a voice mail stating the same information. I went to my bank as well as the local police department and the officer called the number to which the man answered. She let him know he has been reported and that he will be found as he is impersonating law enforcement and he is to not call again. Hopefully something will happen with this and it will be stopped. One can only hope.

I just had the same thing happen and I was told to pay off a debt or I would have police come to my house and arrest me. I asked to speak to his supervisor and was out on hold. The same guy came back and stated he was Supervisor Justin Walker. I argued that I wanted badge numbers as I wanted to see if they were legit. He ended up raising his voice and threatening me and then hanging up. It scares me that people like this can get your personal information and make threats such as this.

I have been receiving calls saying that someone was filing a lasuit against me and that if I didn't call back they wished me luck with what ever legal action was to take place. I don't know who would sue me. They even knew the last four digits of my social security number. There was also another number in addition to the 206 number. The 206 number was invalid and the other number (63141980500) was busy every time that I called it... What's up with this? Am I in legal trouble or is this a scam?

We just got a call for my husband from 911 on our caller ID. The caller said he was 'Officer Frank Martin' from Washington. I said my husband was unavailable, and could I take a message. The caller (with English accented from India) stated my DH needed to, "Call back immediately," and gave 206-400-6861 as his 'direct line.' I checked google right away and found this site. What the heck is this scam?! My husband said to get a badge number if the "Officer" calls again....

I also received a call @ work from "Henry Calvin" , my co worker told him no one by that name works here!!!  I have lodged many complaints!!  This has been going on for over a year and they are people with thick Indian Accents, hard to understand, and often abusive in their language when you tell them to stop calling!  Even the local FBI told me they knew about it!!!
