Scammers calling our pre-paid phones. [insert favorite explicative]

I put it in the call-reject list, like I do with all of the area codes and numbers I don't recognize that keep calling and not leaving a message. That way it doesn't ring, just rejects the call.

I work for the phone company. I just got a call from a customer that was frantic. She is 95 and she is getting calls every 2 mins from people yelling at her. She has the tn 376-5000. This is not a company you are calling back this is a poor old lady. DONT CALL THE TN BACK. This is a telemarketing scam and now this old lady has to pay for it. She has had this # for over 30 years and doesnt want to change it.

June 11, 2-013 9:48pm ET call.  I picked up at the same time they hung up.  I called back.  automated voice said it was an inactive voicemail account.  offered to let me sign up for something.

Recorded voice:  "If you or loved one smokes" then started solicitation for e-cigs.  Like PO'd in Seattle, got the same message when I attempted to call back: "This is an inactive lazer voice mail account. If you would like to sign up for your own free account please hang up and dial 376-5000."

I find it singularly peculiar that this call came about 10 minutes AFTER receiving robo call from 307-316-7479, allegedly offering 'free' home security system (also reported)

Called me on 5-17-13 at 6:05 p.m. (Caller ID read UNASSIGNED). Called the number back within seconds and told the female who answered to remove my name from their telephone list and she hung up on me. Called back again within seconds and this time I encountered the following recording: "This is an inactive lazer voice mail account. If you would like to sign up for your own free account please hang up and dial 376-5000."

The fact that this all occured in a matter of seconds along with this female's STRANGE response (e.g., didn't use a company name, immediately asked me about a purchase yet I didn't even know specifics about their supposed product beyond e-cigs, rudely hung up) indicates to me that whoever this number belongs to is most likely a SCAMMER seeking out VICTIMS. As none of this fits the protocol of legitimate businesses.

I've also considered that some of these IDIOTS may be disgruntled telemarketer's acting out because I'm on the federal do not call list (a factor to include in complaints, as it may possibly be a common denominator in selection of calls). Because, in most cases when I call the number back (right away if I'm home), I either get a similar recording as above (e.g., the account is closed or inoperable), or that the call cannot go through, or a fast busy signal.

According to the White pages, this number is an International Telecom landline from Seattle, WA. (http://www.whitepages.com/ phone/1-206-424-1061).

Apparently, something's ROTTEN as hell in this state -- and, more specifically in Seattle. Because, I have never been INUNDATED by these robo-type calls until moving here three years ago from the East coast -- as far as I'm concerned, it is tantamount to telephone STALKING!!

Ironically, I'm compelled to pay a phone bill yet cannot even control who I want or do want to call me -- in reality it's for the benefit of all types of UNSOLICITED calls (similar to postal and email). And, of course, there will NEVER be recourse for us consumers since both the federal and state government's sold the people out years ago!! Beware, the worse is yet to come...

Received a call from this number at 7:30 pm EDT, on 14 May.  The answering machine picked up and a message began in a loud female voice.  I disconnected.  What a pain!

Called at 8:30pm. no one on line. A***oles better NOT call again!

Stated they were Rowe industries, attempting to sell electronic cigarettes.  Hung up when reminded of Donotcall.gov registration.
