LOL, Love that response!

It most certainly is NOT a debt collector. It's Gilmore Research Group, though now they're called Northwest Insights. I've done a study for them before, in their downtown Seattle office. It took about an hour, and I got paid $60 cash. I get emails from them periodically about studies they need people for. The most recent one is paying $100 to qualified participants. As far as I know the only reason they call you is if you signed up to be in their "call me if you have a study in my area" pool, or if someone wrote a number down wrong and it was yours. This company is absolutely legit, and I really hope they call me again!

This is a debt collector. They're the only ones who would call my cell phone multiple times without leaving a message.

I received a call from this number last night - no msg left - I did not answer.  I live in Seattle but have a Bay Area phone number.  I've been This is the 6th call or text I've received from different numbers like this.  I'm sick of it!

dont bother asking 'where did you get my phone number", since the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT was passed...(and dont blame obama, he had nothing to do with it..it has been there for years), you can get ANY PUBLIC INFO ON YOU, WHERE YOU LIVE, HOW YOU LIVE, ETC...just look at ANCESTRY.COM, how do you think you are able to find out about old great grandma...and where she came from?  LOL

This number has been calling me for several weeks.... never leaves a message....
Then last night they called at 1:00 in the morning!!!!

Wow.... lay off the meth dude.... these guys are just normal people who pay good money for about an hour of your time. Ive done it and got a free lunch catered by Quiznos and 100 bucks just to sit at a table with other folks and give my opinions... it was actually fun. DEFINITELY NOT a home invasion attempt.... jeez, and we wonder how lame rumors get started....

Listen carefully, each survey may have its own number list. There is no list to be permanent number list to be removed from. The interviewer will normally say who they are calling on behalf of and how the numbers are chosen. Some surveys might require cell respondents because they are younger. A cell phone is just a more expensive type of phone it does not grant special powers.

They have been calling several times a day, but I don't answer unknown numbers.

Recieved a call from them today. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer.

I am sick and cant sleep.  So i am awaken several times this week early in the morning from a call on my cell phone by 206 72 5555.  She stated that she was calling from Gilmore Research at 2101 4th Ave, Suite 800 Seattle Washington, 98101.  I asked Mary to take my name off the calling list.  She stated she was hired by Puget Sound Energy to conduct a suvery from their customers.  I told her that's strange because I am not a customer.  Please remove my cell phone from her suvery.  After I told her I will write a letter to request that removal she assured me she was going to get up and remove my cell phone number and asked for the number.  I gave her the number and Now i do not feel comfortable.

I will file official complaints with both the State Attorney General & Better Business Bureau for invading my privacy & calling my personal phone when I have an unlisted phone number, have not signed up for anything & am on a DO Not Call list. I suggest others do the same for this Gilmore Research group & 206 746 5555 phone #. Laws are way too flexible & democratic regarding unsolicited advertisements (wasted resources) arriving at our homes & marketers contacting us via email & telephone. Absolute invasion of the little privacy we have in this crazy, overpopulated, fast paced world.

& honestly there are people who are going to make mistakes or not be clear in how they introduce themselves or even come off rude but people don't listen if your called it's ALWAYS on behalf of whatever company has hired Gilmore to do research and surveys. IT IS ALL LEGIT and nobody is going to call you 20 times in one week but you may get called a few times but there is a certain amount of times they are allowed to call before the number is automatically dropped from the system, oh and don't ARRANGE for them to call back on a later date because GUESS WHAT THEY'LL KEEP CALLING BECAUSE YOU SAID SO. And people in Alaska again it's whoever has contracted Gilmore to do these surveys so they call all over the country. It is a very tedious job and while you all complain about getting these calls especially when they could be over and done with in anywhere to 5-20 minutes depending on how much YOU talk it is a job for somebody out there.
I know some people here will disagree and all that but please keep in mind nobody that works their takes pleasure in annoying people and having to deal with rude assholish peoples, the people that work their range from disabled people, to students, parents and more.
So with my little speal said I just felt I should give some insight to why/how Gilmore does what it does and I hope that at least a couple of you unhappy customers will remember we are people too.

They keep calling me over and over and I finally answered and they hung up. I'm going to try to block them through Comcast. I hate hearing the phone ring--especially by unwanted callers. I wish there was legislation that didn't allow autodialing.

For all you people who say you are not on the DO NOT CALL LIST or don't know who Gilmore Research is need to find out. Gilmore Research Group is a local marketing research company. They call to see if you are interested in getting paid in cash for your time and opinions to participate in a focus group and it could be about any time of subject like diapers, kitchen appliances, cell phones. You can get $50-300 for doing this. They also have another side that just calls people to do surveys over the phone. For the people who say they are on the do not call list, it does not apply to Gilmore. They are not telemarketers! If you don't want them to call you answer your phone and say I want to be taken off the list that way they won't keeping calling mutliple times. And for the other people you people could have signed up before to do a survey over the phone are do a focus group and didn't remember. Or maybe they just had someones number that is old and now you have it. Why don't you check out the website they are real and legit.

The do not call list is for telemarkerters. Gilmore research is not a telemarketing company they are a research company that pays you cash money for your time and opinions on any type of subject matter like; health, educations, mock jurys, kitchen appliances etc... If you don't want them to call you ask them to take you off the list.

Some guy named Gus asked me if I called the power company.
I got a weird feeling since that's all the information he wanted. I know people who've been cased before for information and scammed, and this felt the same.
Felt like a scammer.

gilmore has been in business for 50yrs and is a legitimate survey co. mostly wknk for gov. health dept concerns

I guarantee this company was hired by our gov't (Dept. of Health in this case) to compile data files on us and for some blank in the time-space continuum I answered the extremely personal questions, even though I had recently seen Jesse Ventura's Big Brother episode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=181I4HmO6Ow, I am a jack*** and all my info is sitting in my local fusion center now... dumb.

Is there no way to stop these unwanted calls? I am elderly and really bothered by nuisance calls. I have my answering machine on, but they, for the most part, will not enter a word. Nor will I answer unless they do.

Go Kara!!  I too am from Alaska and have been getting calls from these people for weeks.  I do not do surveys and am getting real tired of them calling.  They call at anytime during the day or evening and never leave a message.
