Of course this place is illegitimate. The only way you can stop this is by using selective call forwarding. Most phone providers provide this service for up to ~10-15 numbers. Just Re-route your number to the google voice number. 760-705-8888. You will never hear a ring again!

Received another call from this number again at 8:08pm.  This time they asked for my husband by name.  How did they get his name and from where.  I told them to take my number off their call list and do not call again and hung up.  This has been going on for a few years now and more frequently.  Is this place legitimate?

They will just call you from a different number next time.  I get about one call a day from the same company and all come from phone numbers all over the country.  Not really sure how to make it stop.

This call is from an entity who goes by the name "Card Services". They are out to get your credit card information and social security number. It is an illegal scam they are doing. The number they call from changes frequently and the can call up to several times a day. When I got a call from this number, I played along and was able to get some info. You are first connected to an incoming call center with operators whose job is determine your "eligibility" for their offer. Once they determine your eligibility(>$10,000) credit card debt, they transfer your call. In my case I was transferred to Associated Financial Services, based out of Florida. Two phone #'s that seem to be for that business are 1-877-982-7526 and 772-344-2556. They, btw are part of the scam. I continued to play along and provided the man I spoke to with a phony credit card number and ssn(He never asked me my name during the call).
The way to confront these people is to play along with them, probe them for info. With a bit of work, I think that it is possible to eventually gain enough info about them to do something to put them to a stop once and for all

You can block them on your landline if your phone has that capability and most of the portable ones do.  Our set of 4 phones cost around $60 for all 4 and we have caller ID & call blocking (20 numbers can be programed in) along with several other nice features.
Not sure how to block on the cell phone - we chose not to have voice mail set up on our for that very reason...they can't leave a message and we don't answer numbers we don't recognize.

Caller ID is  wonderful and call blocking is even better!  We get these calls every day but never have to deal with them - one ring is all that comes through and the ID lets me know who.  Thanks to those of you who post on sites like this one - we have a place to chek out these numbers...if we want to.
This stuff is one of the main reasons we do not have voice mail set up on our cell phones - they can't leave a message and use up our minutes, and we don't have to deal with them.

Got a calll from these folks, "Card Holder Services" telling me that there is nothing wrong with my credit-card [which one?] and to "press one" to get a lower interest rate.
I did, and got a male voice who I told that this was not the cardholder anymore and before I could finish he hung-up on me. Likely a scam. I will block the number.

Have been getting these calls too (Nashville, TN).  How can I block them?? Can I do it online at AT&T.com or similar?

I just don't answer and usually these scammers go away - for a while.  But like a bad penny, they're always back.  Sigh.

I too filed complaints on both these websites.  I feel better knowing at least I'm trying to do something to stop these extremely annoying calls; whether or not the complaints work, that's another matter.

I just received a call from this number and they left the following recording: "This Is this your final notice. Please press the number one on your phone now to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rates, or press the number 3. To discontinue further notices. Thank you. Have a great day."  I didn't answer the call and my phone captured the text.

Oddly enough, I received the same phone call on January 11,2012 from another telephone number.  This time, the call came from 302-394-9659. I answered the call (which had the same recorded message as the one I posted in this message) and when prompted, pressed the #1 (knowing I had no credit card but wanting to know who the call was from) "to speak to a live operator."  The phone went blank and I was never connected to anyone.  Sadly, I was unable to give them a piece of my mind.

If you receive a call from either of these numbers (302-394-9659 or 206-743-0203), know that they are the same credit card sales outfit and probably not worth answering.

They just called my cell.  I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer but looked it up here.  I've received numerous credit card scam calls like this from other numbers.  I'll report it to the FCC now.  If they receive enough complaints hopefully they'll do something.  It's sad that there are people out there who fall for these scams.

WHY! WHY! WHY!
How do these people get your numbers??? I am listed on the no call thing but it doesn't seem to matter. I just don't answer unknown numbers anymore. I really thought my cell phone was for me not for someone to try to sell me something and cost me minutes! AND they won't even leave a message!!

I filed a complaint with the FCC ref Number 12-T00858304.  I encourage others to do the same....

http://www.fcc.gov/complaints

"Ashley" from "Card Holder Services" called me, telling me that there is nothing wrong with my credit-card [which one?] and to "press one" to get a lower interest rate.
I did, and Ashley-the-auto-dialer forwarded my call to the pool of employees, of which one answered, and asked "how I was doing?"  I hung up!

This is a scam, to get your card information, and clean out your credit card.  Do not talk to these people!
