This is a telemarketer, or otherwise unwelcome caller.
that gal 2014-01-02 18:14:05 Unknown
it's a scam folks. pressing what ever number to opt out will not keep them from calling, it only validates your phone number. pressing the number to speak to a representative will get you a real person that promptly hangs up the phone. it's just a phone number harvesting scenario. don't press any buttons, just hang up or don't answer at all. report the contact to ic3.gov

it's a scam to harvest live phone number. pressing what ever number to opt out doesn't work, it just validates your number for them. attempting to speak to real person will get you a real person that immediately hangs up phone. phone number that comes up is not a valid number. report the contact to ic3.gov

Pressed 1 and still waiting after 15 minutes for a live operator. How can they take my money if they don't answer the phone!
Paul 2013-12-23 20:37:10 Unknown
If a thief knocks on your door, do you say "Oh, I don't allow you here", does he say "OK" and leaves !
The "Do Not Call List" was "The Tail that Waged the Dog".
Congress did something for the "benefit of the public good", their job was done.
Whether is was good or not, their job was done.

Received same call on my work line. cannot call back the #. pressed 9 to be removed from the list which immediately terminated the call. Pressing 9 will relay back to them that the user who answered the phone interacted with the call which now confirms they have a valid working #. Best bet is to lure a person into believing you are interested in their scam and get a call back #, name, anything you can to shut these scum down.

I keep getting these calls from this number and a lot of others.
Lady T 2013-12-20 05:22:42 Unknown
I got that same call today.
siteguy 2013-12-19 18:27:35 Telemarketer
I got the same call asking if I, or a loved one, has a drug or alcohol problem that they can help with. You press 1 to speak to a live rep. I pressed 1 and played with him for about 10 minutes and had him hooked when I said I was financially well set and addicted to opiates. He wanted me to travel for treatment. Said the company was National Crisis, (a non profit) and he gave me his name as Bob Sugar. He said he was in Ft Lauderdale. I got a bit tired of playing with him so I told him that he called the FBI and that I knew who he was...he got a bit of a quiver in his voice and then someone in the background told him to hang up. Play with them..waste their time..take it right up to the moment they want your money. These guys are punks!

This number calls all the time. They should be rounded up, shot and hung.

Female robot called today from the oh so generic "Drug & Alcohol Center." Press 1 for info or Press 9 to be [purportedly] removed from our calling list. Pressed 1 to see who was calling, put in a call que, a man comes on the phone, says he's from the just as generic "Crisis Center." As soon as he learned that a significant other didn't have her health insurance info immediately available, click. When I called back, the AT&T operator said "the # you dialed is not in service."
Query?? Without a valid company name, how can the FCC or FTC prosecute these scammers and their robots?? Some years ago Lois Greisman, FTC attorney, told the Los Angeles Times that people needed to "interact" [in reality, to pry info from a telemarketer, one must usually feign interest - after all, the first car warranty robo-call bust occurred after an engineer played along for 30 minutes until he got the telemarketer to slip up and say which entity would appear on his credit card statement]. It seems to be common among solid 800notes.com posters that Qs about company names and addresses are met by an immediate click.
Or does the FCC/FTC have new means to find out who is really using a spoofed #?

This number keeps callings husbands work phone. He works nights so I answer during the day. Today I pressed 1 to talk to a live agent. He then proceeded to ask me why I am answering my husbands phone. And told me it was weird that I answer his phone. I asked to be taken off the list. He hung up.

Please note the new FCC policy regarding cell phones effective October 16, 2013. In summary a cell phone cannot be called without prior written consent from the individual cell phone subscriber. Unlike the DNC policy, a prior business relationship is not enough to automatically assume consent. Unlike many other statutes, where a consumer may only recover proven damages, the TCPA sets forth automatic damages per call/message ranging from $500.00 to $1,500.00. No specific or actual damages must be proven by the consumer. Considering that telemarketing campaigns often involve thousands to, in some cases, millions, of calls/text messages, potential TCPA damages may escalate very quickly. Due to the large potential payday, TCPA lawsuits are up 40-60% in 2013, compared to the same period in 2012

Unsolicited spam call asking if I, or a loved one, has a drug or alcohol problem that they can help with. You press 1 to speak to a live rep and if you ask any questions about anything other than treatment they will hang up on you. I get a call from this number at least 3 times a week and if I could locate the business or person, physical therapy would be needed, not drug and alcohol treatment.

Drug and alcohol telemarketer. I pressed one and spoke to a real person. When I asked him how he got my number he said they just randomly dial phone numbers. "Really?", I said. "Yes we help a lot of people that way". I asked to be taken off of his call list and he said something about Ferris Bueller and hung up.

Billy 2013-12-10 20:58:22 Telemarketer
After got a live person, I was told that my son had been arrested and sent to this drug and alcohol center company's clinic for drug and alcohol treatment and then commanding thousands of dollars from us before we could talk to him.
Why can't the laws be enforced to trace the numbers and arrest these scammers?

Unsolicited spam call asking if I, or a loved one, has a drug or alcohol problem that they can help with - if so, I could have pressed "1" to be connected to a live agent.
They call my business weekly. If you try to call back, you get a recording saying that the number is not in service.
206 743 0913 shows up on the caller id though.
Tom 2013-12-10 17:09:19 Unknown
They call my cell phone, why they call & how they got my number I have no idea because I don't answer. If I do they know it's a good number & I have to pay for the calls. I guess the do not call list means nothing to them !!
Jimmy 2013-12-10 16:11:46 Telemarketer
Same thing - recorded message about a drug and alcohol center.
Pressed 1, waited, finally got an male op who said something and I said "what are we signing up for" and the op hung up.
