It's a fake check.

I got same emails from a brittani wilson trying rent a room from me! She did send a check!! I'm confused how it's a scam if she sending me the check?

This is the exact same email received in Utah from a Brittany Jackson in guam with a fraudulent cheque received by courier.........property renters beware.................................................

The response is like earlier they didn't change a damn thing.  Thank you all for this information so I could learn from your alls mistakes.  Sorry to say it that way but it's the truth.

I just posted a room for rent on Craigs List for St. Louis and have gotten about 8 of these weird responses asking if room still available etc, when all the details are on the ad! DUH!  Spelling is terrible, grammar bad, composition reeks of dum cluck scoundrels in foreign lands trying to scam us Americans.  Got 2 legitimate response from real US CItizens with verifiable data.  Can't Craigs List stop this?  Wonder how much of their band width is taken up by these criminals abroad. I either delete or for kicks  I only respond back via the Craigs List blind email response with a few choice words of what they could do to earn an honest living.  Waste of time, but again thanks to this website we can verify who these creeps are... creeps and cheats!

Hey so I received the same email today and we exchanged emails back and forth and then I gave her my bank account no and router no so that she could online transfer me the money. After that, out of curiosity I checked who this person was and found this page. Any advice on what to do now? Can this person do any damage to me now?

whenever you are in doubt about the origin of an e-mail you can always goggle the e-mail address that way you will be able to tell if this e-mail address is associated with a scam.This has helped me tremendously.
I highlight the e-mail address and right -click and you will see  where it will search it by goggle.It is a great tool to prevent you being scammed.
