Any clue where this is from?

I work for K2 Mining in Northern Alberta (a Kiewit venture) and someone called asking for someone with the name Kweem to verify thier employment. I can actually tell you this person does not exist in our employee database.

I got this email for renting my house in Oregon, after reading this post, I responded with: "Are you also Richard Jolly?  Liz M. Mendez?  Peter Adams?  Kweem Willow? and ....?"

Here is the email:

Hi ,

Thanks for your email, I will be willing to pay 1 month rent to start with plus the security deposit in order to secure this unit prior to my arrival, am coming to stay with my wife only, with NO pet.


I am an Engineer by profession and I am currently working with Wessex Survey & Design Ltd UK. I will be coming to the state for the next one year and during my stay, I will be working with Black & Veatch Incorporation a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company specializing in infrastructure development in energy, water, telecommunications, management consulting, federal and environmental markets. I will be earning  $7,000 monthly which is $84,000 per annum.  .


My sole  financier Who based in the States  will be handling the rent deposit payment on my behalf, I will instruct him to send you a Certified Check for this as soon as you give me the go ahead to make out payment to you. Due to the limited time that we have before our arrival as we are moving into the state on the 10th of September, we are making arrangements with a furniture company to supply the home with furnitures, so we will need you to provide us with the the following:

# Measurements of the living room and bedroom.

# Picture viewing the living room and the bed room(s).

# As regards the lease agreement and application, I want you to send it to me for my review. I will eventually have it filled and signed in person on my arrival in your place as I am of the opinion that such documents are best filled and signed physically by appending signatory at best physical. We can start the lease by asap and I will be doing a one year lease. You can prepare the lease in my name.


I will look forward to your e-mail with the required information.

I got similar message but now he is a lawyer from UK. I googled the refference number and got this post.
This is a scam that happened to me 2 years ago. If you engage in correspondence, at one point they will ask for your account number to make a dirrect security deposit to your account ...

I have spoken with Kiewit and they would like people to forward all correspondence to them from him @ Kathy.berezanski@Kiewit.com as they are doing an investigation on this dude. I hope they fry him.

i have receive the same exact emails from this guy and can't figure out his game either. If anyone does please list it. He did say that he was sending extra monies and I was to pay for his furniture when it arrived, but, that made me nervous. He has nothing but my name and address. What can he do with that. Maybe he is after Kiewit or gets his high from being "important". We can't figure it out either.

I am thankful I googled this person, had the exact same email from him in response to Craigslist ad.  This is horrible.  I'm glad I found this site.

I received two emails today in reference to a rental property advertised on Craig's list from a Dr. Peter Adams, who signs his name as "Petter". It is almost word-for-word like Liz Mendes. This is probably a bipolar person with schitzophrenic traits who is playing a role. No one seems to ever have concluded a transaction with these people. The website given is also very suspect.

Has anyone figured out what the scam is? How far does it go? Has anyone gotten a virus/trojan horse? Has anyone received money to close a deal soon?

I doubt it would have gone any further with emailing because I sent an application and request a copy of driver's license, 2 pay stubs, and last yrs W2 and told him that was required along with a completely filled out application.  I also said I do credit check, background check etc.  Hopefully I won't hear back. If I do, I will either ignore or tell him someone else rented the place.  Thanks to all. I was shocked to find this while googling his name.

I received an identical message about my post listing a rental in Killingworth, ct.  It started to look fishy to me so I'm glad I started googling and found this string.  I am also going to report it.  Strange!

holy cow!  i got this same email from petter adams, architect working for kiewit & sons, ontario in response to my rental posting in louisville kentucky on craigslist.  i responded with detailed info, THEN thought to do some googling, and came upon this string.  boy do i feel stupid.  but glad i caught on.  has anyone suffered any consequences from this correspondence?  now i'm nervous.  thanks for any additional info.

We have been getting messages from a Kweem Millow out of Canada asking to rent our place.  I don't understand what they get out of this scam?  It was pretty much the same letter you all have gotten.  
You would think that someone who educated could type a simple letter without so many errors.I'd love to know what they get out of this and why they are doing it?

Are you sure it is not Kweem Millow as opposed to Kweem Willow?  There is a gentleman that is supposed to be meeting my father here in about an hour named Kween Millow and now I am a little nervous...  Any information would be helpful.  Thanks.

This person is now Kweem Willow. He works for Kiewit and would like to rent a home in Wisconsin too. The letters are almost exactly cut and paste as those above.

I got the exact same letter from Richard Jolly. Apparently they want to live in Alaska too. They are getting more sophisticated. I googled two companies and his name. There are a couple of engineers by that name and the companies really exist. But this is obviously a fraud!

I have an engineer currently my roommate who has an engineer boyfriend from England.
