Same story here. The text was from 312-590-2738!

I received the same text and am so grateful to sites like this that warn a person. I also received an email from someone that claimed to want to hire me but needed my credit report because they would be issuing me a company credit card. Seeing that I was applying for a secretarial position I didn't see why such a position would need a company card, so I googled the company and found also from a site like this that  it was a scam.

got the same this morning,  I am so sick of the scammers,  I need a job not to be harassed or scammed.  Its ridiculous.

I just received the same message, the number the text came from was a 704 area code.  I am of belief, if you are interested in hiring/talking to me about a position I applied for, you would call me, not send a text message.   Thank you to all who have commented about this.  It sure saves others the hassles of dealing with them.

Just recieved same message from number 404-971-2441. I texted them to never call or text me again. So glad I didn't waste my time on them. Thanks for all the input!

Thank you for this service, 800notes.com.  Just received a text.  Traced the telephone number to Unknown in Atlanta, GA.  Text read that I must call 888-596-6735 (I traced this number to learn it is a telemarketer) for the Administrative position I applied for.  Thank all the Commentators for the heads up!  I need my energy to find legal, legitimate employment and not sell myself to scam artists!

I think this is a marketing company, I reported them to the fraud unit for review, and contacted local police to review this phone number! They do not pass along any information to an employer, they just steal your personal information.

Got a message this afternoon from 888-596-6735 for a job I hadn't applied for.  Glad I checked it out.
704-578-1699 is the originating number.  Avoid this scam

Here's a funny story.  They texted my REFERENCE "Hi, we reviewed your resume for Admin Assist position".

He then texted me saying "Uh.. I think this was supposed to go to you.." I was like "How in the WORLD did you get that text?!" Thus, leading me to google this number.

Also, what self respecting company TEXTS their applicants?

I recieved the same message asking me to call the 1-888-596-6735. The text came from a 1-512-492-2409.

I replied with 'no texts to this number'.

Yeah I received this text also, in response to a receptionist job I applied for. Craigslist freaks me the f* out sometimes.

Yep....me, too.  I didn't apply for a warehouse job (my boyfriend did) from Craig's list.  I received two text messages and checked out 800notes.com.  Sure enough, I found the info I expected to find.  BEWARE!  People need REAL jobs...not fake ones.  I sent them a reply and told them to NEVER text me again.

I just recieved a text from 704-578-1699 saying that they reviewed my application for the CSR position I applied for and to call 888-596-6735. I have never recieved a call back with a text message. I just wish I knew which job it was on craigslist so that I could warn other people applying. Glad I check the phone number. I will not be calling or responding.

Received the same generic text as everyone else here after applying for an ad on craigslist, but from the number 347-633-3018. Just to reiterate everyone's point already,
waste of time,

I got a text message from a random number (347)-633-3018, today saying "Hi Sarah, I just reviewed your application for the Legal Asst position you applied for. Please call me at 888-596-6735." Right off the bat I knew it was a scam becuase what kind of self respecting job would text message an applicant, so I googled the phone number they told me to call and read all the reviews and realised it was a scam and then 10 minutes after they texted me I received a call from another number, Orlando, Florida came up on my caller ID. Don't call or text them back, they are just a waste of time.

I got a text from a PC number. I know that because my daughter does that once in a while. I checked the senders # and it was in Austin TX. At the end of the text it gave an 888 number to call and that brought me here.  I'm so glad I started checking # on the net before calling them.

The company is Career-Network.com.  They are not an actual company looking to hire a specific position.  Heres my experience:
Got the text on Firday to call 1-888-596-6735 for the Admin asst position I applied for. (Background: I applied to a generic ad on craigslist for the position a week earlier w/ resume attached.)    
After 1 ring person comes on phone speaking very fast says my first name and asks if he could spend up to 25 mins asking me questions. wants to comfirm name email and zip code (heres were i knew something was fishyfor sure not only did i already look up the phone # on google and read your story but  my sent copy of the email with my resume to the ad on craigslist had my zip code included on the top.) I had to let him know the zip code he had was an old zip. (how did they have old info when they should only have my resume info. (my husband works in collections and told me of many profile websites that allow companies access to your basic info. appearantely mine hadnt been updated for over a year with whatever service they used to find my current zip code but it wasnt my resume obviuosly) He asked if i was currently employed which my resume also showed an end date to my last position, asked about perferred salary that wasnt on my resume and finally why i would be good for the job.  At the end he asked if he could ask an unrelated to the job questions.  the quest was would i consider enrolling in school if the job helped pay.  I explained i already had a school in mind in a few months for something.  He explained I would recieve an email within 24 hours with a link to the website were i could see all the jobs available and that my applications would be forwarded. Next day, Saturday, I hadnt got the email so I called. Got another rep trying to take my applications explained i called day before and i dont have the email. He asked that I wait a few more hours and check my spam also.  Waited till today Monday today and called spoke to a women who also started the application off bat i explained to her I called Friday no email checked spam.  She provided this address     career-network.com.  Said the user is my email and the password is my last name and apologized for the hassle.  I found the website and signed on as she said and it worked i was in the website.  However the job I applied for was not listed under the applied for section , no job was.  My profile was blank except for the basic email name zip everything else you would have to update.  I called the 1-888-596-6735 back and got another rep trying to take the application again so i just went straight to Im on the website and i dont see were i applied for the admin asst position, nothings listed.  He just started talkinf and wont stop or let me talk after that.  First he told me to apply for the position so i tried to tell him i dont see it in the list of jobs under the job search tab then he said that it must be a delay and it should appear on the top for me to apply and i should choose the contact me option because he isnt in the technical part to how it works and sorry for the trouble.  I basically ended the call with him and click on contact me.  No surprise there isnt actually a # to call you have to email them you question/concern. LOL.  Just thought I would share for anyone smart enough to check the # first and doesnt want to waste your time.

I had the same experience. They asked me to confirm information. Said they would follow up with an email that would give me access to more information about the job as well as other jobs. No email, but I've gotten the same text from them 3 times now. I have not responded to the last 2. Hoping I did not inadvertently fall victim to something...

This company says that they are responding to a job application that I sent in. However they refused to tell me where they are located, to transfer me to a supervisior to ask for that information. When I asked for information as to what job that I applied for, when it was applied for and what job board it was from they refused to give me that information. When pressed they replied that it was for an administrative asssitant position applied for on 12/12. The only problem is that I have no records that I applied for any such position on that date. The text message that I responded with this number was for a cell phone in Chicago. The information that I was told was that this firm is located in Orlando FL but that the job is within a 20 mile radius of where I am located.

Wanted lots of information that would have been on my resume which would have been included with a legitimate job application. Refused to give me any information and hung up on me twice when I asked too many questions they did not want to answer.
