This is a legitimate land line for the Bank of AMerica branch in York, Maine.  My son just called me from the bank to say that he had applied for his first car loan.

they say they are BoA., but they are not.  Called me Friday about a "problem with my account" involving fraud- when I would not give out information, they called me back Monday, evidently forgetting they told me this was about "fraud" and told me they were BOA "travel rewards."  Do not give out information to 888-503-6092 or 866-680-3848.

it is not a scam.  I applied for one of their credit cards and they were calling to request more information and they were very professional when I requested my application be canceled.  They didn't ask for any information that I didn't already supply on the application.

They call and she said they sent out three notices and they have taken one of my credit cards away. I called the number back and it was no longer in service.
This morning Card Services called but I didn't answer. So when I tried calling back you get a busy signal 10 calls, 10 busy signal.

A woman describing herself a credit analyst from bank of America called me from this number right after I applied for a BofA credit card a day ago. She just verified my identity by my date of birth but did not ask me anything else. However, it seems she knew all the details of my credit report without asking me anything. I guess this number is legit.

It's legit. That was my BofA card. It's the credit department. They fixed a derogatory account that should not have been there.

Actually, 207-338-7799 is a call from Bank of America Customer Assistance Department (which they call themselves Card Services) located in Belfast Maine.  This is the department of the bank that calls on all of their past due credit cards.  I have been employed here since Febuary 2008.  You will recieve calls from this number starting when you are 30 days past due on your card, continuing till you are 180 days past due, which once you reach that level of deliquency your card is "charged off" which means it is written off as a bad debt by the bank and sold to a debt collection agency.  Instead of just calling things a scam and lieing about them and getting mad.... WHY DONT YOU JUST MAKE ARRANGMENTS TO PAY BACK WHAT YOU BORROWED!!!!!!

My boyfriend got a call from this number today and I told them he was at work.  Oddly, about 5 minutes later my boyfriend called me from work asking what I wanted.  I had no idea what he was talking about... evidently a female called him at his job and was on hold for him at work and hung up before he got to the call.  He naturally assumed it was me.  Not sure how any company either legit or not got his work info... he doesn't include it on anything. He called the # back, busy, busy, busy.  No recent credit card applications, nothing.  He does have great credit and in good standing with all of our debt.  Not sure what this is but it sounds fishy.  I'm beginning to wonder if the # is just a general one that shows up on Caller ID.  Please for the love of God do not give out info to a company that calls YOU.  It's just not a wise idea and people make mistakes that affect them everyday.

being a past employee at the belfast mbna/BofA site, i can honestly say this is one of the most ruthless, uncaring and cold businesses in the history of this country. from credit cards to bank accounts, we were trained and REWARDED to suck every last cent from you. fell on hard times? didn't matter and you better pay up. upon calling BofA, a computer looks up your account, rates your "propensity" for spending, and then gets placed in queue. customers with large open credit lines went straight to the front of the line (marketing dept) and the people who weren't in great standing got stuck in the back of the line (tacs).

FIA/card services are owned by Banq of America. still BoaF, but for transparency reasons. we serviced more debit/credit cards than you could ever imagine. did you leave BoaF for another national bank? chances are you are still banking with them. we would open all calls with FIA card services to make sure we didn't say BoaF when it was another banks customer we were serving.

long story short.. NEVER BANK OR HAVING ANYTHING TO DO WITH BANK OF AMERICA! bank locally with a credit union or a small bank, both institutions that will APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS!

A Bank of America rep called my work phone number. A few weeks ago, I responded and applied for a Bank of America credit card invitation. This guy asked a lot of questions about my previous w-2 and why I applied for the credit card with them. I reminded him that it was them who pre-approved me and invited me to apply for one of their credit cards. His questions were introsive and I didn't answer most of his questions and told him to cancel the whole thing. His tone suddenly softened up and then he offered a $500 credit card. The days that banks sent you a $3000 a credit card without talking to a rep is long gone. Any way, I told him, in a nice way, to shove it.
By the way, I don't remember giving bank of america permission to call me at work!

This number called me on my cell. They did not leave a message. When I tried to call it back it kept giving a busy signal. So, I followed the advice of others and called 888-305-6262. They could not help me with just my name and phone number. They asked for my SSN and I didn't feel comfortable giving that out over the phone without knowing exactly who I was calling. Call came from Belfast, Maine.

I just got a call from a man this morning saying someone was at the bank last week trying to open an account in my name and he would need more information from me.  I said..you have the information why don't you tell me about myself.  I asked him to send something to my home address in writing and I would expect it in 3 days or I would report this #.  Afterwards, I got a call from the same FIA Financial Card Services???  866 459 5251, but when I call either of these #'s back it is busy...FISHY!

207-338-7799 w/ Caller ID as Card Services will not stop phoning! If this is a confirmed scam, why are they allowed to maintain this telephone number by their service provider?

Why would Bank of America, Wachovia and AMEX not take security actions to put a stop to this scam?

This is a scam. They called us and pretended to be Bank of America.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION. DO NOT EVEN CONFIRM YOUR NAME OR ADDRESS. Bank of America is aware of this scam as is Wachovia and AMEX.

personally, i had no problems or doubts.  this was a credit card i had applied to from BofA.  they called me to complete my process.  simple easy employment history and extra income questions.  They did not ask me for anything personal like my SSN or bank account numbers.  i verified the number from my application and they matched. i should be getting my card within a week.  we shall see.

So they call me yesterday at around 7pmEST and trying to pass off as BOA and they are not. They should clearly say they are not a BOA employee but they are affiliated and how they are affiliated.

They ask if my name is XY and they are on the money so I say yes. Then they want to know about an CC i opened with BOA and the interest rate. Then they say hold on to answer some questions and hang up. Seems like they are some ID theft BS. Yes, some people are saying they are legit but they don't carry themselves like they are legit.

Now if you work for BOA you would know this so why would you ask? I called BOA and although they do know FIA and are affiliated but, they don't show any record of them calling me or needing to. I called back FIA and spoke to Jennifer Rodriguez and refused to give her anything besides my phone number and name (since they already had it). I told her if she needs something from me she is to go through BOA and to never call me again(FAIL-they just called).

WTF?

They seem to be legit- if you ask for a credit line increase they will call. This is a company that credit card companies use to verfiy your income and such. It a new thing as I understand -cause so many people have lied about income to get highger credit lines.  If they call and u don't trust them tell them please do not call again (take ur # of the list- and legal action will be taken again and then call your local branch and talk to them!

I've received several calls from them.  I never answer the phone when I don't recognize the number.  They never leave any messages.  I do not have a Bank of America account nor have I asked to increase my credit line.  This appears to be a scam.
