I received the call today from 561-482-7902. Same story as everyone else. I spoke to a guy who had an American accent. I asked him for the name of this "non-profit organization" which he claimed has struck a legal deal with banks (makes no sense in reducing credit card interest rates). I asked him which credit card he's talking about and he said "all of them." Then I asked him if I can call him back and he said no, I won't be able to reach him because the phones are ringing off the hook "as you can probably hear" (I didn't hear a pin drop in the background). Then I asked him if they have a website and he got nervous and started fumbling and stuttering and saying that he's not exactly sure and it's a long story and he's not even sure what the organization is called. Not only a scammer, but an extremely retarded one. I'll be calling the FTC and reporting this to the FBI as well.

Just a thought for everyone.....all calls seem to be received on cell phones.  Are they all the same wireless company?  Has some hacker found a way to get cell phone numbers from one particular company?  I use AT&T - are these all AT&T cell phone numbers receiving the calls???  If so, we all really need to get on AT&T about security issues in their databases!

Call received from 561-482-7092, option to press 1 or 2, I opted for "person" who identified himself as being from United Debt Aid. I told him in no uncertain terms to never call again.  Call was received on my Missouri cell phone,
which is on the National and Missouri Do Not Call lists.  

Using a reverse phone search on 411.com, I found that this number is a land line, South Central Bell, Boca Raton, FL.  When I called the number, I received a recording that number is disconnected or not in service.  

Have filed complaints with National/Missouri Do Not Call, Bell South (who doesn't seem to care) and the FTC.  Will consider reporting to FBI if calls continue.  This is obviously a scam.

Just got the call today from United Debt Aid to my cell phone too.

I have gotten the call as well.   Today (4/7/08) it was to my cell phone.  Boy am I pissed!

Same calls received here, by both the alleged "debt company" and the "auto warranty company" on the 207 441 0627 and 386 409 8310 numbers.  A complaint is being filed with the FTC and my local district attorney.  All others should do the same.

Same here.  The guy got irate with me when I asked him why my Google search didn't come up with anything on them except complaints.  Beware!

i just got a similar call from 305-672-6663. they said united debt aid. they told me they could lower my interest rates to 6.9% on the prerecorded message. i thought it was one of MY credit card companies calling me, so i pressed 1 and got a human. that's when i realized it wasn't because they asked i fi had more than $4,000 in unsecured debt. i said i didn't and he said "well, you're in good shape then"....i don't know what this is, but i asked to be taken off the call list.

These people called from what looked like an internation # +3057589297
when I asked questions she hung up.

My call was similar to what most of you have reported.  I pressed '1' to get more info, but I'm at work, so I asked them to call me later.  Then I Google'd "United Debt Aid" to check them out.  The number they called from popped up as an International number on my phone, so they're getting even trickier to track down.  I'm glad I found this site, I definitely report this to the FTC (my cell number is on the "Do Not Call List") and I won't give them any personal info when they do call back!

Caller from United Debt Services called my wife's cell phone and asked for the person with the highest interest rated credit card.  My wife asked them who they where looking for and they hung up.  Definitely a scam.  Did a reverse look up and found this info:

United Debt Aid has constantly called this number for the past two weeks.  I have counted at least 4 calls where I pushed "2" to have my number deleted.  I have now taken to pushing 1 to talk to a live person.  Each time I stress the fact that they are calling a District Court Judge's office and this number must be removed immediately.  Each time, the caller has hung up on me.  I am really fed up with these people even though they assure me they are listed with the Better Business Bureau.

I actually got a call yesterday afternoon from this "company" to consolidate my credit card debt.  I don't have credit cards.  My cell phone is on the Missouri No Call List, which, unfortunately, doesn't enforce the calls to cell phone numbers.  However, the Federal Trade Commission does. (www.ftc.gov)  Also, the automated dialers are a violation of the No Call List.  There's two strikes.  I looked did a reverse telephone search and the number came up as a residential number for PETER TANG, 4684 BUTTERBOUGH AVENUE, ORLANDO, FLORIDA 32801.  When I asked what company he was calling from, and he told me United Debt Aid, I then asked for his Operator ID number, which he got pretty hostile about me asking for, and questioned my asking.  I then told him that I was on the No Call List, which he was in violation, and he became even more hostile, claiming I called him because I dialed 1.  I then reminded him that his "company" made the initial call, that I had to dial 1 to find out what company was calling me.  HELLO!  Doesn't sound like a legitimate business to me.  I then did a search for the business, but only found this site.  Hmmmm...Definately sounds like a scam to me.  

I reported this online to the No Call List through the Federal Trade Commission website, and followed up with a call to the FTC.

I just received a call on my mobile phone from 407-207-0820 claiming to be from "United Debt Aid."  After I said No I do not have $4000 or more in debt  I was promptly hung up on.

This company will also call using (442-074-82168)

Yeah this company calls me several times a week and every time I press #1 and I ask for their name and to be removed from their calling list because I am on the do not call list and I am always hung up on. I have tried to find them on the internet and they are no where to be found. I have also called my cellular provider and they said that they couldn't do anything.

That same number is also a company that claims they work with auto warranty firms. I haven't had a car in 8 years! I've been bombarded with phone calls for debt aid and car warranties on my cell.

I've repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor etc., and get hung up on.

They'll also call you from 407-207-0820. Which is Orlando, Fl. If you call that number from a land line, you get a message that the line's been disconnected!

I received a call yesterday on my cellphone from a company stating that they could lower my interest rate by 6%. It starts off as a recording, #1 to speak to a representative, #2 to be taken off of the list. Out of curiosity I pressed #2. A man answer and started to give some long speech. I stop the man in his tracks and asked him which of my credit card companies was he calling from.  he said that the company serviced all credit card companies. I then asked him for the name of the company. He said the United Debt Aid. When I asked for a phone # he hung up on me. My caller id says he called from Florida, 321-779-3962. My sister got a call from the same company for several days from the same company on her cellphone. She finally cursed the woman out and asked for a supervisor. The woman told her that she wouldn't be speaking to a supervisor and called her a w***e. The # they called from was 407-207-0820. This is definitely a scam!

I just received a call from someone claiming to be with "United Debt Aid" and the person's name was Jimmy but wouldn't give me any other info.  I hung up on him and didn't waste anymore of my time.

The same thing happend to me as the person above. The number on my caller ID was too long to be a real number and I got a failed call when I tried to call it back.

This number calls constantly with a recorded message about reducing your credit card rate.  Press 1 for info, press 2 to be removed from the list.  I have pressed 2 many times, no effect, they keep calling.  This time I pressed 1 and a lady came on the line.  I asked for the company name and she said, "United Debt Aid."  I asked where they are and she said "Florida," then after more pressing she said, "Boca Rotan."  She gave her name as "Theresa" and refused to give her last name.  She refused to give a callback number or any additional info about the company.  She claimed she will take my number off the list, but I'll believe that when the calls stop.  Definitely a scam.
