I just got the same deal with this guy calling himself Mark Cole. He also got my address, the prick, because I thought he was a potential customer as well. This guy needs to go down!

This guy has called and emailed me, and thinking he was a potential client I gave him my home address. Turns out he wants me to wire $2300 to a supposed "current owner of a home he bought" so they can send me the keys to the house. WTF!

Received email from Mark Jones on April 28th stating:
"how are you doing this Mr Mark jones i would like to know if you do interior and exterior painting,do you accept credit card for the payment ? and i will also like you to get back to me with your workshop Address and telephone number ASAP"

We responded with yes, we do lots of work here locally and asked for information so we can do an estimate. The response came back:
"Thanks for the respond and i want you to do the job on interior and exterior painting in the house i just bought a 3 Bedroom in the city it's a new house so i need the interior and exterior painting., i will like you to do me a favor due to my sickness in the hospital for my surgery due to my lung cancer and i will be very glad if you can handle everything for me, but i will love to come back to reside at the new home so i will like it to be fix before i arrive,I will be paying for the inspection of the property for proper handling and estimation Please do provide me with the total cost for of the interior and exterior painting, i will like to make a deposit of $1000 for the inspection and estimation of the property

here's the address {address of a foreclosed home inserted here} i will be making payment as soon as possible because i have less time but the most important thing here now is that the keys you will use in entering the house and do some checking are still with the initial owner and i have text-ed him and he got back to me that they will send the keys to the contractors that will handle the painting which will be you and you will need to do me a little favor about the initial owner so you can gain entrance to the house ?"

Starting to sound suspicious, we asked for them to manage a time to meet and get access to the home for an estimate and their response was:
"i was told that i still need to balance up with $2300.00 before my keys can be asked to drop with you for estimate and this is happening because there were some changes in the house that cost the agent more fee okay, so you will be filling up the space of handling everything for me and take the keys for me so that you can proceed with the painting estimate and i will be paying for the total expenses so it can be easy for you okay. so what you will do for me now is that i will give you my credit card to charge for sum of $3500 plus 85% of the credit card company and you will deduct $1000 as a deposit to prepare you ahead for my contract and assistant to help me and you will be sending $2300 wire to the initial owner through the western union money transfer near you and after they have got the balance then they can have the keys sent to your location for you to start your work and you also deduct $100 for your self for helping me with request,and the remaining $100 for the western union charges....letting me know that you understand."

When we did not respond further, we received another email with the same wording as the original but from Mark Cole (mcole112@hotmail.com) and the phone number 571-207-6324

Several calls over the last few days coming from different locations. This one was from Leesburg VA.  I did not answer.

One Mr Wilson calls and wants to talk about pending litigation and says it is time sensitive.

I got an email twice from the individual. Please see it below; It is very suspicious, looking to pay....not even knowing the price.
He send an email but yet asking for the company name??? I have no more questions...IT IS A SPAM...!!!

Yep, called back the number and it's valid (impressive since this is an illegal call).

Looks like the company is called EngageTel.  I'll be taking action against them.

Does anyone have anymore information on this? The same thing has happen as mentioned above.

2nd time i've gotten a call from this number.  didn't pick up either time.  no vm.  calling number back unsatisfactory.

This number appeared on the missed calls on my cell phone, they did not leave a message.

So you have the wrong carrier.  The number was ported away from CTC to some company called KansaTel.  Well, KansaTel doesn't really exist (from what I can tell), but at least the guy had a phone number for the company.  Calling the number was another recording (more illegal actions) but gave me the name of the provider: Telecom Management.  Sadly, the guy at CTC just transfered me so I wasn't given the number for the Telecom Management.  Worth suing I guess since it seems fairly easy to track this call.

Got a call from this number. Didn't answer and it left a voice mail. The message said people would be in my neighborhood soon installing home security systems. Then it said something like, "If you want to be *safe* and install a home security system, press one."  Bah, humbug. Don't this kind of crap.

Same. Received a call from this number.  It was an automated call saying that a business was going to be in my area giving away free alarm systems and all I needed to do was press one.

I just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  Since no one has my cell phone number, they must just be calling random numbers to see if they get a hit.

I did not answer the call.

This number has called my cell at all different hours and wont say anything!

I have gotten this twice in this week.  I decided to go out on a limb and follow the prompts.  Options are 1, then 3.  then it hangs up on you.  I am getting these calls on my cell phone.
