Received this person from my Avon page. They wanted to order products then sent me a check for 1800$ MORE than their order and written out of standford University.

Yes, this is a scam.  I received an email response from my CList ad (Portland, OR) just a few moments ago.  Always a good idea to check if others have had scam experience before responding.

With great thanks and appreciation to those who have posted their experiences I was able to avoid this scam right away!

This is the text of the scam from Jane Morgana <JaneMorgan67@yahoo.com>:

"is this item available for sale and it is ready for pick up and here is 1
(209) 227-4205 my number you can contact me by text or via email"

If you left your phone number, ignore anything from that number or any call listing as 'Unknown'.

I recieved the same exact damn email i recieved the check and tried to cash it and it never went thru i called the bank and they said it was a SCAM and they are investigating her now she is still emailing and harrassing me about this stupid check. thats crazy we all got the same email smh she need to be put away

Another scam artist!!!! Will reply to you on Craigslist asking for your name, addy, etc. to send you a check.  Says the are deaf and will be moving to you area. Once payment is received they will arrange pick up. After saying the check has been sent it was made for the wrong amount..to take your amount out send the excess back to her. SCAM!!!!
