I get called everyday, once to twice per day. They never answer, just silence. I complained to AT&T and they said they don't use that number. Funny, I never got calls from that # with caller ID saying AT&T until I cancelled my AT&T service.
harry 2013-07-15 19:15:46 Unknown
Me too.
If this is in fact AT&T and they need to harass or beg I'm dropping them
Let me know if you find out if in fact this is them?

I wanted to add a side story: I recently sought to refinance my home with my current lender; but, the request page on the website had a clause that allowed them to pester me with 'other' services I might be interested in.
I wrote on that page I wanted the information; but, decline to give them rights to do this, using a lot of legal jargon that basically said what I said take precedence over what they wrote, and their calling me was an acknowledgement of this.
For some reason, they haven't called me back with the information, and they haven't called me about anything, anymore. Go figure. I kept a copy of that document.
Here is a copy for your bemusement.
1. I am interested in HARP eligibility, process and benefits Please call me with your name, and a way to contact you.
2. a. The personal pronoun 'me' or 'I' hereafter shall represents (my name -removed for security purposes) no matter what form through which this document my be communicated.

Please express to the FTC & FCC your desire to enforce the telephone consumer protection act such that we may return to a more peaceful, safe, and functional use of telecommunications. The following statement may be understood in the spirit of which it was made, as an ernest desire and attempt to maintain privacy within the confines of the purpose of this communication as stated in paragraph 1.
5. I do not opt in to receive any calls from the company other than for the purpose stated above for a reasonable period of time.

Ironically this may be one of those 'falls through the cracks' when it comes to the law. The law allows anyone with whom you have a business relationship to call you for any reason. However, the good news is that this act has has some modifications recently; but, I've yet to read the whole thing.
http://www.fcc.gov/document/telephone-consumer-protection-act-1991
and
https://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs3-hrs2.htm#10
I think a letter telling them that you are rescinding any previous agreements and relationships with them would require they get your permission and signature in writing to allow them to call you or they would be in violation of the TCPA.
But, read it, don't quote me yet. ;-)

When someone calls you, they are in control of the line. That way, if you accidentally hung up the phone, or went to switch to another phone, your call doesn't get dropped. By not hanging up on their end, and you pick up; they can tie up your line for an indefinite time. This amount is usually define by the telephone company, and they can control the length of this before it "times out".
Inform them that this is what happened; they should not charge you for this. Normally, this does not occur on a cell phone, and once you disconnect, the line is automatically released. However, as some of the phones get older, the processor cannot handle the apps running in the background, and handle the 'real time' phone service. It should give the phone service the priority in handling; but, this is not always the case as sometimes your phone gets hung, like the computer it is. If you find your phone freezing and locking up, there are many remedies, like diabling some of the background apps. This is often easier said, than done. If that is your case, it's time for a new phone, or a reset. Also, be sure to update your roaming and software capabilities. Note: this is not required with 4G and should be handled automatically. Plus, phones using 4G are usually, as of this date, state of the art and shouldn't experience any of these issues. Hope this helps.

Punish them by making a complaint to the FCC. http://www.ftc.gov This is called a Robocall / Abandoned Call and violates the TCPA.
Trust me, they know better.
It seems like anytime you have to deal with them lately, they always say: "We are receiving unusually high call volumes", no matter when you call. I translate that as... "We are too cheap to hire more operators to handle your call; please waste your time, and not our money. Thank you for being abused by AT&T".

Have received 10 calls from this number since 6/21/13 (it's 7/03/13 today). That's what Caller ID is for. Just wondering when they'll get the message that I won't be answering this or any other number I don't recognize.
Ken in Ct 2013-06-25 21:30:10 Unknown
3rd call in last 3 days. Let it go to answering machine, no message left.
Sanchez 2013-03-01 22:24:11 Unknown
I would really like to know why you keep calling my husband an I we don't need you calling us. Grow the F*** up.
Ronald Hord 2013-02-25 22:12:31 Unknown
This # calls me once or twice a day for the last week
Laura 2013-02-18 22:23:50 Unknown
I keep receiving this call many times a day..They told me that I had to make a payment on my past due bill and that I needed to pay over the phone with them and as much as possible at once because I would be charged a $10.95 charge for each payment I made. I told them that was ridiculous and that I was calling At&T myself because I will not pay the fee. They told me that I would just be directed back to him because they are the collection company for AT&T.. I called AT&T and they said it is definitely not them. The caller is a fraud. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!

We too have been getting several calls a day from this number, and as has been said, you call it back and it's AT&T Customer care. The person I talked to said they don't have any record of calling us, so I did report this number to the Do Not Call list which I've been on since June of 2011. I had also heard that you have to re-register yearly, which is not true. Since 2008 the law was changed that once you're on the list you are permanently.

Keeps calling everyday but does not leave a message. How do you block a call on a cell phone?

This number is spam from att. F***ing annoying!
bdclark0423 2012-01-19 02:20:43 Unknown
Well, i see that I am not the only one getting these annoying messages while at work. I have recorded the call back message and all these comments and I have forwarded in to my Facility Services asking them to look into this. Our Facility Services does do business with AT&T and we have over 30,000 employees here in the States, so we will see what kind of business rapport AT&T would like to maintain as I cannot have these annoying interruptions during important business meetings...
Marguerita 2012-01-12 19:48:23 Unknown
Me too!!! Same situation. They have called 7 times already today.
sworker 2012-01-11 19:39:53 Unknown
I am also getting a call from this number from past 2 days, not message. Unfortunately I called them back, they said ATT but I doubt if its ATT because I can hear some wired noices in back. DO NOT PICK UP THIS CALL OR DO NOT CALL THEM back, its definitely some kind of crap.
Gijs 2012-01-09 17:05:07 Telemarketer
Another call today and I picked up. Apparently computer-generated dialing, as there was a pause before a woman came on. It's definitely ATT and a marketing call of some sort. I told the woman -- who sounded like she was talking from inside a tin can -- that I'm on the Do Not Call List, that I have no prior business relationship with ATT, and that I do not want to receive their calls. She said "Okay, sir."
Howard 2012-01-09 16:35:45 Telemarketer
A computer dialed my number first. When I answered, after a few seconds, it switched to a live person trying to selling me some ATT service. I was furious and asked to be removed from their call list.
Gijs 2012-01-07 23:20:59 Unknown
Called, left no message. Caller ID says ATT. I don't have ATT for either cell or land line.

They call several times a day and will not leave a message. I picked up once to verify that is was a solicitation, to them my house is being taken away in foreclosure and they hung up. Ha. Then I blocked the number.
Sarah 2012-01-04 19:46:56 Telemarketer
FINALLY found out this is AT&T trying to solicit us for phone service! I am so angry! I told these idiots LAST YEAR when I dropped them, NOT to call me! I have told them since then too. They just call from a different number. This time I answered the phone and told them they WILL be reported for violating the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY if they EVER call me again. Even if they offered free phone service, I would never again do business with AT&T!
Sher 2011-12-30 20:23:09 Unknown
If you have ATT cell they are probably calling to try to get you to upgrade. I didn't answer when they called, but if they call back I will tell them it's annoying and one more call and I'll switch cell providers.
infoman 2011-12-16 01:05:53 Unknown
Just do not answer, this guys and their robo-calls are verifying if you answer the phone, if you do, then you are just giving them the time that somebody is at home and can answer the phone, so they very happily, sell your data, to other companies including the time that somebody can answer the phone at the giving phone number, the other information related to your phone, they already they got it!!, (we are their customers). This is for more accurate time, a seller, or a charity company or a collection can call to ask for your money money money!
