This is a phishing scam. They want your personal information for identity theft.

These are scam artists trying to get your personal information.  It's called "phishing".

Stay FAR AWAY!  Do not answer them!

Received a phone call from this number from a voice (pleasand-sounding and with a British accent) that said his name was Oliver and he wanted to talk to Anne.  That is my name and when I asked him who he was, the line went dead.

Their number is blocked, so they get cut off and don't even get to leave their message about a free SEO.  Yet, they continue to call anyway.  They called again here in Calgary about ten minutes ago.

Well, I guess they don't like being blocked and are just going to keep on calling.  They called again here in Calgary about 20 minutes ago.  They are still blocked so they got cut off.  I wonder how long this will keep up?

Got a call again today from this number, but I have them on call block (from past calls) so they didn't get the chance to leave a message.  Hopefully they won't call again now that they know they are being blocked.

I received a call from 212-235-1880 at work.  There was no reply after I said hello.  After I said hello for the 2nd time, they had hung up.

saw the number on call display and answered it "Department of National Defense, how can I help you".... no reply... then after a few seconds, I get the... "hello... blah blah blah... who am I talking too" I told him "you have reached the department of national defense"... he sat quiet for a second, then asked me again who I was... told him again, he said sorry and hung up... calls stopped finally... no calls in 5 days now... Heee Haw!

Caller with Indian accent claimed they were from Bigstone or Big Store or something, found issues with our website, were able to name which website when I asked them.  Wanted to talk to the financial decision maker.  I told them I could help them.  They asked for my name.  Instead of giving it I insisted they tell me what was wrong with our website.  They ended the call.  Next time I will tell them that I have contacts in India presently, and would like to arrange a meeting face to face before we conduct any business, and would they please supply their business address so that we can "take care" of them.

Asked to speak to the person who manages our website. Wanted to help us "optimize our organic profit". We are a non-profit, so I hung up.

I got this number today...  I did what I've been doing lately.. I did a whole slapstick routine with them...
Keep in mind, I recognise numbers like this almost instantly... so am ready to go for broke.. til I frustrate them no end.

Me: So you DO want to sell me something
Them: No sir, not calling to sell you anything
Me: So your calling to buy something from my website?
Them:No sir, Im not calling to buy anything, Im calling to talk to you about your website performance
Me: So, whats the point of your call, you dont want to sell me anything but just to talk about website performance?
Them: Sir..
Me: So your telling me you just want to 'shoot the s***' about my website.. come on, tell me, you are really trying to sell me something right?
Them: No sir..We just want to..
Me: Sell me something?
Them: No sir..
Me: I don't believe it...

* what I did NOT get to say is, so you get paid to call me right? you get paid to just call up people and not sell them anything? You dont have a single offer to provide to me after we discuss my website performance?
Now come on... someone that could handle MY questions, should DESERVE to get the sale... tho, not that website performance is really high on my list of priorities atm, and I do all that myself but sheeeeeesh!

I said hello couple times, then it hung up.  No one there.

India call center -  Website and SEO scammers.. Spoofing VOIP number to appear from The USA.  They have no knowledge about what they are selling, they cant give you any samples of their work.  

u would think they would get the idea when you never answer their call.... twice a day now.

I got this almost everyday and went on my voice message said "....you don't want to miss the chance, Call back at 212-235-1880 for your free SEO Analysis report"

Called yet again here in Calgary yesterday at around 3:15 pm.    Again, I didn't answer and they left a message for me to call them back for a free SEO.  When will they stop!!!

same here - indian sounding guy, choppy line that sounds like a skype call, used public DNS to get my info and wanted to redo my "website".  Must have called 5 times over the past month.

I just have that number programmed to forward to a local SEO company lol.

Has been calling me for weeks so I finally answered. Was an Indian man, but voice was so muffled I could barely hear him. Asked for me by name, then mumbled something about my website (I don't have one)? I was so confused I just paused and then said... I'm sorry what? and they hung up.

They called again a few minutes ago.  This time the caller ID read "V12715095700033".  I guess they don't take no one answering as a sign to stop calling.  Same message as last time.  Call them back for my free SEO analysis report.  Did just as you said Rob, and what I normally do.  I ignored the call and deleted the message.

Got 4-5 call from them since 7 months. English is not my first language but I can usually answer to english call. This time, I can't understand what he wants. Talks about a website? He finally decides to hang out the phone by himself when he found that I don't understand him...

It's a company robo calling people and businesses trying to get Search Engine Optimization (SEO) work. Ignore it.

Well, they just called again about 20 minutes ago.  This time the caller ID showed "V126122609" which I have no idea what that means.  Didn't answer and it went to voice mail.  This time they did leave a message.  A woman's recorded voice, but obviously a recorded message.  It was partially cut off because of the intro of my voice mail.  Anyway, the part of the message I got said something like "Call back at 212-235-1880 for your free SEO Analysis report.".  Whatever that is, I have no idea.  I'm definitely NOT calling back.

I answered, they wanted to speak with the person that handles our website. Almost couldn't understand him, heavy accent.

They just called me here in Calgary, Canada.  Caller ID just said "New York".  I didn't know the number and didn't bother answering.  As usual, when they went to voicemail, they didn't leave a message.  I'm starting to get frustrated with these calls.  It used to be I'd get a call like this one or twice a month, but recently I've been getting them daily.  Don't these scam artists have something better to do with their time, then bother people?

Was asking me all kinds of personal information and when I asked what it was regarding said that they wanted to let me know that my website was working properly.

I think it came from  212-235-1880 but they are blocking their name.  Got the phone number from a voicemail they left.  They want to give me my free SEO analysis report.  Really....who would do business with a scammer like this???????????????
