I got a call from this number. He said his name was JACK KIDD. He said he was a tech for PRONERDS, INC. located in Australia, but that he was located in India, and worked for the Australian Government and needed to clean viruses from my computers. He wanted to correct my computer of viruses and error reporting. He did the "slight of hand" by asking me to RUN the event viewer (eventvwr) and the errors log. It showed a lot on the list, however, only since I cleaned my computer with my Norton Anti-Virus and then he wanted to take control of my computer. I guess that he thought I was an idiot on the computer. However, I have taken many computer repair classes at CCSF and can repair my own computers. Everything he said sounded suspicious and after researching and talking with the Federal Trades Commission, I come to know that THIS IS A SCAM! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM, REPORT IT TO THE FEDERAL TRADES COMMISSION AND YOUR LOCAL STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL!

A legit question for the spoofed Bryan Anderson here. If a bunch of people called you on a random basis trying to rip you off, how would YOU feel? Since you claim to have a daughter, or a family you should have some feelings. If you are trying to feed your family, you are in the wrong profession. In fact scamming isn't even a profession.

Illiteracy and incoherence is the norm for shills, but when it says that a cold call from somebody to fix your computer is legit, that nails it. No call like that is EVER legit.

This site is really hurting these crooks!

The nuber doesn't show up in caller ID, but when I asked to give me a call back number they gave me 888-666-7552 and the website www.pronerds.com.
A different guy every time call me and identify them selves as pronerds.com service telemarketing. I have been denying their service every time, And I have also requested them to remove my contact from their marketing call list. I still receive calls from them.

A caller from this number, who did not provide his name, when I answered my cell phone, asked if I was the owner of my phone.  When I continued to ask who he was, he identified himself as someone working for a temp agency I was working with last month.  Oddly enough, I answered the call only because the number that displayed when he called matched the number of someone at the temp agency, although I do not believe there is any relationship that exists between them.  I asked why he was calling, and he said it was because he had information that my computer was infected with several viruses, and he was calling to help me save my machine.  When I said, "I'll call you back, what is your number?" he provided me this number "888-666-7552" which was NOT the number displayed on my telephone.  Again, the weird thing is this:  The number that displayed on my phone matched the number of someone I worked with at a temp agency, and absolutely no relationship exists between that person and the person who called claiming he wanted to save my machine.  Very scary.

Just received a call (888-666-7552) from a man claiming to be from Pronert and saying he was a Microsoft Certified technician. Heavily accented. He asked if I was Mrs. Robert (not my name). He claimed my computer was sending out numerous messages whenever I accessed  email. I told him I had up to date antivirus software and he said he knew I had Intel antivirus. I use a different antivirus software.  I told him I am not interested and will have my own tech support check out his claim. Then hung up.

A man by the name of Jason called me speaking "bery bad english" (hard to understand), with a Pakistan/indian/indonesian accent. He stated he was calling from the Microsoft Support Team. He said that my computer is having problems and he started telling me what to do. I interrupted him and asked "what exactly is wrong and how is this affecting me?" He said that there were two issues with my system. First, he said that my ISP reported to Microsoft that they have received so many kickbacks from my system that it's beginning to affect their servers and, in turn,  the other customers of my ISP. HE continued saying that my ISP had  asked the Technical Support Team at Microsoft to resolve the problem. Second, upon their investigation of my IP address and email, they discovered that my computer had been sending an excessive amount of windows 7 error reports to the Microsoft Technical Support Team. I asked him what problems were identified by the error reports sent from my computer,  and what repercussions could occur if they weren't corrected. He said that he had indications that I was going to lose everything on my computer in a matter of days due to various malicious software attacking and taking over my computer. He said that this was a new form of computer attack and that even the best antivirus/anti-malware (like Avast and AVG) couldn't stop it. I told him that there was nothing wrong with my computer but he insisted that there was numerous system  errors and that I needed to let him help me find the errors.  He was becoming increasingly upset when I insisted that there's nothing wrong. He insisted that I look at the Windows 7 event viewer (by typing Windows R, and then "eventvwr") and tried to tell me that the red dots were viruses and malware that were undetectable by even the best malware  detectors and virus scanners. Knowing this to not be true, I now knew that this was a ploy to gain control of my computer and steal all my information! The caller ID didn't show any number, it says 'no id-unknown'. I asked him how did I know he was legit, he then gave the number 1-888-666-7552 and said 'make sure you ask for Jason'. I could hear a lot of people on phones in the background giving what sounded like the same spiel to others. I finally just hung up on him. Since then I have received at least eight additional phone calls from an 'unknown' number. The REAL Microsoft Technical Support Team warns users about this scam here:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fo ... m=1332209454415

A REAL Microsoft Technical Support Team member consulted with me regarding this situation and HIGHLY recommended that I inform the Internet Security Task Force Division of the FBI by filling out an incident report on this website here:
