Got  a sales call from a Mr Warberg, who idenified himself as securities trader that want to give me a hot tip of the day. I was in the middle of a sentence telling him I was busy and he hung up on me. I then call back and told him in a polite way that I way in the middle of a sentence and he hung up again. What a b hole, Spartan Capital better retrain their sales jerks if they want to get any business.

People it's not a scam, stockbrokers call potential clients over the phone, what's wrong with you?

We are in Cheltenham, England and we have had various calls from these people, again asking for the Director by his first name as though he's a long lost buddy or something.
Up til now they haven't been rude but hey there's always the next time.
They won't get past me :o)

Someone have done the business proposal that they offer?

Calls have been hitting people in our state from Spartan Capitial. A different number is being used 212-293-0004. So far the caller has been polite, with the first recommendation last fall being Goodyear stock, and just today the stock recommendation bring Alcoha aluminum. These guys are good, I'd like to get them to sell for my company. My suggestion is take their advice and invest what ever money you can afford to lose with your own broker and see if their right. I didn't take time to track goodyear, but am going to ask my broker about Alcoha and maybe invest. Don't deal with people unless you can do it face to face.

These were the rudest people that I have encountered. Plus that can't pronounce a simple name.That is when the flag should go up.Is there anyone that can stop these cons.

212-293-0004 calls for our President. I told him to put me on their do not call list. He starts talking over me and hangs up. 3rd time he's called.

I spoke to this company in detail today. They were trying to get me to buy stock. They always start with, remember that company that I recommended two months ago?Look at them now. Next they say let me sell you another company, you pay no commission. I just need you full name, birth date, and social. Of course this is when I put the brakes on. When you question them and there intentions they get deffencive and try to talk over top of you. I can't say for sure what there intentions are, but they do not have good business ethics and there fore will never earn my business.

but thats how stockbrokers make a living...all those millionair billionair brokers out there, 90% of them started out cold calling for the first 5 years of their career

Our company has been on the call list for over a year.  They have been rude hung up on me and yelled at me.  Each time they call I ask to be taken off the list.  I told a person calling himself Dean Kajouras that I had previously requested our name and number taken off the list and he said there is no way that you requested to be taken off the list.  What am I crazy?  I have asked at least three times this guy was so rude I will  be filing a complaint.

Just received a call from a telemarketer that was shouting in my ear how we had talked on the phone before and that I should buy his securities because of this and that. I told him that I had no idea what he was talking about. I was in the middle of asking him to take me off his list and he hung up on me. This is ridiculous.

they keep calling and asking for the owner by name and asking for him like they now the guy.  and they are not even nice maybe if they were they would get more business and could stop cold calling people. and being jackholes about it.

Just received a call from this number which I googled and found that it is Spartan Capital Holdings.  The caller is male and has called several times before.  He always hangs up on me when I ask to take a message for our company President.  Today he has called twice with back -to-back calls.

I know times are hard, but this is a sad job to have. Maybe that's why they don't have real jobs.

Same deal, called and asked for the old president by first name. When I informed him that person no longer worked here he exclaimed "good job secretary!" and hung up. Nice.

Just received a call from a lowlife at this number. He asked for an owner by name and I said he was not available and could I take a message? He responded "Oh, so you DO have someone by that name there?" and hung up on me! It's amazing how incredibly rude these people are allowed to be!

I just recieved a call from a rude man from this number. He asked for the owner of the company by his first name and when I said that he could not be reached in the office may I help you with something. He said, "no b***h it is personal, why are you so nosey, I will call his cell" and he hung up... how rude!

Just got the same call, as soon as I answered I was hung up on. Someone needs to wipe this phone number out!

Yes, I just had one of these calls - he aasked for mike, one of our owners who never takes calls in the office.  I said he didn't work here, and hung up - we get plenty of these calls each week.  He immediately called back and said "did you just hang up on me?"  I said yes, and he said "b***h you don't have any idea who I am.  I'm going to call Mike on his cell - I don't give a s**t about you..." He asked my name and said he was calling him...Until I googled the number I didn't know what to think.

These are low life brokers from NYC drumming up business.  The MO is they buy client lists from other low life stock brokers/companies ie Gunn Allen & Co. then make cold calls promising the moon, stars and wealth.  They have been calling me on my work phone which I'm about to put on the do not call list.  Next time they get reported.  The fines for calling start at about $50k.  Looking forward to busting these jerks!

This morning, 4/7/2009, at approximately 8:45 a.m., PST, a gentleman called for Mr. Langton.  As the Legal Assistant, I am instructed to SCREEN ALL INCOMING CALLS to this office for Mr. Langton.  The man identified himself as "Nick" from Capital Financial.  Our telephone system has caller ID and, therefore, I was able to obtain the number, google it, and found there have been many, many complaints about this call.  The person who identified himself as Nick was the rudest person I've ever talked to on the telephone.  He will never be put through to Mr. Langton as we never put calls of this nature, (persons who refuse to identify their business with Mr. Langton).

We receive calls from companies like this on a monthly basis. They are very rude and when I inquire on the nature of their phone call, they hang up or get nasty with me. Is there anything we can do against companies like this? I have placed our number on the do not call list and they continue to call. The worst part is they call early in the morning, being based out of the East coast, and wake me up.
