Received a call from this number on 4/6/2012 at 12:42PM.  When I answered, no sound or disconnect fron the other end.  When I try call back, the line is busy.

they did a robo call about switching my electricity provider...pressed five to talk to someone who who get me to switch who was clearly not in New York...told them to remove my name...they said they would...I'll believe it when I see it.

Well ... They just called ... the number id: 212-566-3344. Prior to this call, I was contacted by the same sleazy outfit using a (206) area code. There are two companies that have been calling and leaving messages on my "Do Not Call" listed home phone. "Utility Supply" & the "Gas Savings Center". Scum ..... Message claims they have something to do with Con Edison or your electric provider and that you "qualified" for some kind of discount. They start by asking for your utility bill account numbers. My guess is a sleazy boiler room outfit ...... and I hope they can wake up in the morning and look at their reflections in a mirror with a clear conscience.

I keep receiving calls from this number but when i dial it back its a busy signal...i would like to know if this is a payphone this person is calling from

Received a call from this number on 4-3-12 at 4:45 PM. Since my caller ID showed only "New YorK",  I did not pick up. The caller left no message. Since 212 is the area code for Manhattan, I was curious as to who was calling me, but not leaving a message. I called the number back almost immediately. I received a busy signal. About a minute later, I tried calling the number back a second time. On my second try, I got a recording telling me that "the number you called is not in service" (same as did the poster "new_york_night" above). Must be a Scammer using an automated calling system. But they don't want you CALLING THEM back.

Just missed a call from 212-566-3344 they did not leave a message.  I tried to call back several times and its either a non-working number or a busy signal or some other tone.  They also called me on April 3rd, 2012 and I tried calling back that day also.  Does anyone know who this number belongs too or what they want??  Its so annoying!

Mobile phones appear to be devices for waking people up.

I did not answer.  Nothing was left on my answering device.  If it was General Patton demanding more tanks, beer, and ammunition, try telephoning instead of using your mobile phone.

Agree with Concerned in Harlem.  Caller id is "New York." Electric reseller or Scammer,  Automated message.  Sounds more like a scammer because they name drop 'con ed and federal de-regs' in msg.  says Press 3 to delist or press 5 to talk to agent.  Ok sure.  Ah no.

Forgot to mention that they just called me (again), this time with the recorded "Con Ed Discount Program" crap, which is how I know what the caller is now.

Another "Con Ed discount" scammer.  No, it's not Con Ed, it's a "telemarketer/telescammer boiler room" calling to offer you cheaper utilities if you will just fork over your personal information and your Con Ed account number.  They can then change your Con Ed billing without your approval; good luck fixing it after that.

Didn't answer.  Called back.  Busy signal.  Am also on the do not call list, but to no avail.

Today at 11:15 AM someone  rang  my number, I picked up my phone,  then I said hello, then after the person hung up me.Who called me and why hung up on me? After that, I called the number few times, the line was busy.

Most be new, all of a sudden all these calls.
Called back, no answer.

They are starting to go west and dial Chicago - fast buzy when I tried to call back.

They calloed about an hour ago.  I didn't pick up, and no message was left.  The only ID shown was "New York".  If this is from the New Yorker - I've sent them several emails to stop emailing me with their spam and to stop calling me.  I blocked their emails, but can't block their phone calls.
