This link takes you to a site that advertises "FREE" cell phone look-up searches.  The "SEARCHES" are "FREE"--the information they retrieve is NOT FREE!
Essentially, the "FREE" part is to find out if you can PAY them for as-yet undisclosed information.
It's kind of like Best Buy putting up a banner on their stores saying "FREE BLUE-RAY PLAYERS!," meaning you are freely allowed to come in and look at the merchandise for free.  The only difference is that at Best Buy, you actually get the chance to inspect the product first!

Called and disconnected when I answered--what a pain!  Who are these jerks?

Why oh Why won't congress pass a law to prohibit the unauthorized sale of all ph #'s & personal info unless I've specifically given consent !!! This is ridiculous !!

Another annoying call! They don't answer, but a recorded message finally said "Goodbye!"  I hope they can be tracked down, and FINED for ignoring California's "Do Not Call" List!

We just received a call from this same number w/CID name of California. No one replied when we said "hello?" and kept saying "hello?" to no replies. Then after more silence what sounded like a recording said "goodbye" and call was ended. Strange crap. Our number is not listed and CID is Private Name/Private Number and has also been registered w/the DNC list. The Do Not Call registry is a great thing but it just seems that those individuals or companies that really want to get to you will find a way to circumvent the DNC list.

I talked to a guy named Mark Rivers and he said he was from "The Home Improvement Center"  I asked if he had a do not call list and he said no. LOL I reported to the DO NOT Call Registry

Same as everyone else.  Caller ID says California and they didn't leave a message.

I am having the same problem. They leave no message. When I answered the call, I told them I diod not wish to purchase anything and then the guy got smart and said ," OH you jumped the gun, I was calling you tot tell you abotu your street closure." Then he hung up. Interesting when I do not even live in the 213 area code.

Yes of course...because only republican political organizations call from the 213 area code right?? moron

The caller I.D. said California.  They didn't leave a message.  First time I see this number come up.

The caller I.D. just said, "California".  They did not leave a message on the answering device.  Since I've received calls from this area code and with a similar prefix from the Republican GOP, I suspect that it is a call from a political organization (probably Republican) seeking donations.
