They had my all my information, my name, debit card number and my address. I could barely understand them and they were trying to send me free "gifts" from their brothering companies. They never would give me a clear answer what company they were and said they were associated with walmart and home depot. I told them not to call me and not to send me anything. I don't know how they got my information and they wouldn't give me a straight answer on that either when I asked. I just canceled my card and I'm getting a new one just in case they try to charge me something. It's all too risky and frankly its got me in a pissed mood.

The call came from a company called Global Reward. The callers are all foreign and hard to understand.  They are telling me that I have earned $120 in gas rebates because I am a credit card holder.  They knew my name, last four numbers of my cc, home address and work number.  This is a company cc so I am not sure where they got the information.  They also called from 316-448-4250.  They do not take no for an answer.  I reported it to my cc company but I got a hold of a foreign person there and they didn't seem to understand that I wanted to report it as a scam.  This company has called me at least 10 times in the last 2 weeks. They are very insistent that this is something that they have to send.  When I tell them that I am not interested they basically tell me that isn't an option!

The guy that called had an accent and asked me questions. At first I thought it was one of my friends messing with me then the guy started telling me my mothers first and last name and I told him to not call hear again and hung up. 20 minutes later the same person called and I said what do you want and they then said they want me and they hung up. Now I laugh about it.

Telemarketer
They called me with my information, my name, card number, and address. Said they were a brothering company of walmart and home depot. Said they were going to mail me free "gifts." I asked them how they got my information and they couldn't give me a straight answer. I asked them what business they were and they never answered. I had to cancel my card in fear of someone trying to steal from me. How did they know my card number?

Lately, I've been bombarded with telemarketing calls from many different sources.  So, I did some research on how to file complaints with the Do-Not-Call registry and the Federal Communications Commission.  I found that it was easy to file a complaint on-line with each agency.  Please file complaints using the following web links.  I am going to start doing this for every unwanted telemarketing call I receive.

Got a call before 8:00 a.m. this morning, (12/18/09), by someone with a heavy accent asking for my son who hasn't lived here for over 3 years now. They said that since I was the father they would send me the package with $125.00 in discounts. I told them to put me on their "do not call" list. Then the person started prattling on so I hung up. The same person called back 15 minutes later and said he would put me on the list but I needed to write down the confirmation number. Unfortunately he had such a heavy accent the letters he gave me, which I read back to him, were wrong a couple of times. Then, finally, I figured out what he was trying to pronounce. He said the letters are EMETIB. Then he said "now read it backwards" and he hung up abruptly. It spells out: BITE ME. I must admit that's pretty funny. Too bad he had such a poor accent that he couldn't enunciate the letters properly. The joke would have been much better.

Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY

The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free.

Attention sellers and telemarketers: Go to https://telemarketing.donotcall.gov to subscribe to the National Do Not Call Registry.

If you are an exempt organization, and you wish to scrub your call lists, you may subscribe, but are not required to do so.

They're calling people that are registered or not. I get about 10-20 calls from this company a day. They're changing their phone number so you can't call them back or report them.

Also forgot to mention that the following is also free..
How do we escape telemarketeers.?
1.Go into https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
and register your number there.  After 31 days, none of them should call you (by law).  If they do, you file a complaint on that site and they will take care of it...
2. An unpublished number is not an unlisted number.  Having the number UNLISTED forbids the phone company from automatically giving it out!!!
Take care

I've been recieving calls from this number as well, and have always let the answering machine catch them. Usually it's in the evening, and normally at least 2 times per day. I figure that it's just a system to see which numbers actually get a live person to answer, or call back, so they can then give that number to another company.
I wonder if the vehicle warranty you've mentioned they talk about would cover a 1968 Chevy Nova?

As I suspected this might be a telemarketing call, I answered the call but said nothing, since many automated telemarketing systems wait for the sound of a voice before playing their recorded message. There was no sound or background noise on the other end.  After about 30 seconds, the call automatically ended.

I received this call 9/6 and after many calls answered them and the guy said that the warranty was expired when I have a 100,000 mile warranty and new that it wasn't right. When asked for his name and number so that I could call back after talking to general motors warranty, he then hung up. When I call the general motors warranty company they confirmed that they had numerous inquires the past couple of days

Ok, same as everyone else, I decided to press 2, got ahold of someone and just went apesh-t on them and told them how I don't have a license because my vision sucks, and how I'm not married or how anyone in my house has a vehicle. I told them to remove me and asked them why they were calling me to begin with... no answer and I told them yeah, that's what I thought.

Been receiving calls from this number as well. Decided to answer it. Some, sounded like an, austrailian fella asked me for the make and model of my latest vehicle. Did not tell him anything of my vehicles, told him i didn't have a new vehicle. Still he wanted to know my latest vehicle. Told him I will not tell him anything unless he tells me something, regarding this warrenty that has expired.?
He mocked me....(idiot)......then said goodbye and hung up on me
