I'm on a do not call registry myself.  Why is the phone number 213-48-9393 being allowed to call my cell number?

Call originated in Los Angeles area. I didn't answer this call and no message left on my machine. This follows 2 unidentified number calls from 2 different males with foreign accents who used my last name. They said my computer was sending messages indicating internal problems and was going to crash. Said they were windows techs (Windows techs don't call you, you have to call support). Guy #2 said he could fix my problem (by typing in some commands) since I was already on the computer.

I'm probably on so many lists by now it doesn't really matter. I'm getting a new phone soon and although it is a hastle, I will chaqnge the number and share it with a few people I know. Shame, Ii've had this number for over 10 years and old friends may not be able to find me, that''s the only reason I've kept it for so long. And by "Shame" I mean shame on the government and the phone companies for not stopping  this illegal activity - too busy censoring the internet and finding ways to take more of my money I guess...

I get these all the time and I had a feeling this is something that feeds on itself i.e. if I answer the phone or call them back, I just add myself to yet another list. If you really work for the government, why isn't anything being done to stop this illegal activity? I've been subject to this abuse (YES ABUSE THIS COSTS ME TIME AND MONEY) for over a year.

Just got a call from this number.  I was outside, but the answering machine picked up on it, but it hung up on the machine.  I got a busy signal recorded to my machine.  Looked it up, see it appears to be a scam.  I'm on the do not call list, as well.  Will report.  f

To the guy above, you probably shouldn't have pressed 2, you probably just added yourself to like 8 more surveys.  Just a thought.  I gather that from spending so much time on emails by clicking unsubscribe to things I never subscribed to, but the more I did that the more I received.

Just got the call on my cell too and they hung up. I redialed the number and the robot said I was asked to enter a suvey theat has expired and to press 2 to not get any more surveys. I pressed 2 and it just repeated the same f*&% cking message1
! over and over again. I once got one of these from Missouri at 4:00 AM on a Monday. I am on the federal no call list, this is illegal and they still get away with it. And yet the feds are too busy censoring the iinternet to bother with tis bs. IM SICK OF IT!

Although I am on the national do not call registry this number continues to call with no one on the other end.

Bob, they just did the exact same thing to me!  Just now. I googled the number and up came this website.

If someone from a "government agency" knows that random phone numbers are being sold then why doesn't someone do something to stop it?  This is absolute bull**it!!!!  I'm tired of this wasteful abuse of our private phone numbers and cell phone minutes!!!  The practice is illegal, is it not?!?  What a bunch of s**t!  Let me call their home on a sunday, see how they like it!!!

Ive had this number call before. If you listen to prompts it will say push (two) I beleive to be removed from these calls. Funny I've pressed it before and they continue to call. I'm on the do not call list as well. I don't think it applies to cell phones only land lines for do not call.

Un wanted call, left no message. Called my cell #, and I do not give my cell # to any one  that is not on my contact list.

Thanks for the info. This is the only site I could find with actual info on the number. Glad I didn't waste my time answering the call to my cell phone. How do they get cell numbers anyway? So annoying!
