Credit card "litigation"

Person on other end very threating. Would not give out any information.

Received a call at work from this number.  He said his name was Jacob Meyers. (May not be correct spelling.) Claimed to be an attorney from California and that there was a suit against me in my local court system (I live in Chicago, Ill.) This suit had been filed by CitiCorp and was bouncing around from 2006.  First I heard of it was March 27, 2009 when this guy called me.  He said that if I didn't come up with $5,000 in the next few days, I was subject to arrest, wage garnishment, and who knows what else.  He did't get anything from me.  I think the whole thing is a scam.  I'm talking to an attorney.

Same story as Bob. Jacob Meyer said he is an attorney and that I owed $5000 to Citibank past due from 2004! Very threatening. Again, same as Bob. Threatened with jail, wage garnishment, the whole bit. Yelled at me every time I wanted to ask a question. When we checked our credit report and called Citibank and confirmed that we didn't owe money, Mr. Meyer changed it to Bank of America and said it was from 2006. We called Bank of America and they confirmed that we do not owe this money. When we told Mr. Meyer of our findings he became even more threatening. He told us that he was going to make it his personal mission to make an example out of us. I have filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission, put a security alert on my Social Security number, and filed a report with my local police department. Hopefully the FTC will make an example out of Mr. Meyer!!  What a scumbag!

Hi.  We are searching for these guys for a client who sues on credit collection fraud cases.  Can you tell me exactly where you mailed your check, to whom it was made out, etc.  They could use assumed names but not cash checks in those names and they have to receive the check.  Was it a PO Box?  Would you please email me at:

HI. If anyone has sent Jacob Maier and Harmon, attorneys, 515 South Flower Street, Los Angeles, CA money for debts not owed. Please contact the California State Bar Association at B-96 Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, 500 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Please contact: County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer Affairs, B-96 Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, 500 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Also, contact the California Attorney General's office. These people will promise to return the money they collected under false pretenses, but always have an excuse for not sending the money. If you contact these offices; they will look into it. If enough people file complaints, maybe they can be prosecuted.

Same people did the same thing to me. I was stupid enough to pay them $5000. I have contacted the BBB,Police,Riverside County of CA DA, and I am trying to get the media to listen to me. Nothing has happened yet.

WE CONTACTED THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IN CALIFORNIA AND FILED A COMPLAINT. WONDER WHERE THESE TYPE OF PEOPLE GET THEIR VALUES AND ETHICS FROM:EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN CONTACTED BY THESE PEOPLE NEED TO CONT. Keith Harmon was the name of the so called attorney.

The same thing happened to me got calls just like everyone else. I sent money because I was in the process of settling my credit cards debts. Then I found out that the credit card was not paid.  Have made a police report, so don't know what is going to happen.

This happened to me yesterday.  Same guys  called saying I was going to be arrested on a warrant for a judgement on a credit card debt.  Harmon and Maier, address 515 S. Flower St. 36th Floor, Los Angeles CA 90071.  The number they gave was different it was 213-596-9295.  The first guy that called me actually said he was a deputy from the Duval County Sheriff's Dept and that he was coming to arrest me and that I needed to call the attorney of record in California to clear it up.  They ALMOST got my money.  A friend alerted me that she had heard of this scheme and I went to the post office and got my envelope out of the mail before it got sent out overnight!!!!!  Please do not give any money to these scammers.  I am reporting them to the police and the state attorney today!

Since I first wrote this on anther site, I understand therte are other people with a similar story about this Jacob Meyers.  Be careful and don't send him ANY money.
