Caller ID is nothing, I have a sip trunk, you can enter your own number and call display info, to what ever you want in it.

I'm going to contact my SIP trunk provider to see if they can block calls from the sip provider that they called from, or trace it to find it and terminate thier service.

I got a call from them as well, call is from india, the woman told me, that they think we british as stupid, im in canada, and they like taking all of our money and that we are stupid and give it to them, something about us going to thier country and dancing naked on tv.. call was about 10 minutes long, and she wouldnt stop saying how much they enjoyed taking our british money cause we were so stupid.

I was totaly amazed at the mouth she had on her.

Same deal here.  I played along to see what the end game would be...and had some fun with it.

Told the guy on the other end, I only have a Mac.  He tells me this is impossible, everyone owns a Windows machine (guess he doesn't read/follow the news these days), and I am registered with Microsoft(I do have several MS Windows machines btw).  I tell him yes this is true, but I run Windows on my Mac.  He tells me this is my problem. "Ah this would be your problem then ...Windows does run on a Mac sir". Oh brother, don't they teach these idiots anything? I ask what I should do, and the bait is out.  

Drum Roll....

I can pre-pay via a credit card for them to send a technicain to me. BINGO! Click. I hang up.

I've been working in computers for 25 years.  This had to be one of the worst thought up scams I've ever come across. Worst than Duct Cleaning by far. Indian accent was a dead give away.  NOt technical enough to know a MAC address, and IP address and so on. That he would not tell me where he was calling from either.  

REALLY Enjoyed the laugh afterwards!

'Sean' wants to fix my windows computer.  I told Sean I have 6 computers and I need an IP adress so I can go to the correct one when I have time as I am cleaning my basement [really I am, it's cooler down there].  He kept saying "Madam, you need to go right away to your computer" and I kept asking which one?  Kept him going like this for about 5mins before he got frustrated with me & hung up.   I did ask what country he was calling from and he kept repeating Windows Technical Dept.   I don't have an airhorn but I do have budgies that love to squawk - will put the phone on speaker next time and leave it in their cage.

Have had two calls in two days - Women said that she was responding to my request for a security check on my computer. I explained that as we were speaking, I googled the number and knew it was a scam. She insisted that I had requested  assistance from Windows Messenger - REALLY? How can they do this?

Okay the weird thing is that this number is registered to Casey's Irish Pub in LA.

When the "Windows" computer repair man phones, ask him to read off your Windows 7 product key to identify which computer it is. Every real copy of windows (1 to 8) has one. Don't let them off the hook so easy! India has GOT to get better jails!

We just heard from these guys, same story. Receiving errors from "A" Windows computer, but couldn't provide 1 shred of verifiable information as to which computer was affected. I told the guy that he was wasting my time and hung up the phone.

Have you thought to try talking to me? Or at the very least, did you have to put up a wall every time I tried?

They like to rape people and then mock them about it. It's called cleaning, like rolling in your own s***, clean.

I got the call from them here in Calgary this morning. After I told them I would call the police, they called  back two more times just to swear at me. They told me that they were calling me from Newfoundland, Canada rather than Los Angeles, CA. That they weren't really from Canada was pretty clear since they weren't aware of the heavy fines telephone solicitors can receive when they call unauthorized numbers (and yes I'm on the list).

Called and said that they were from Microsoft and that I had an issue with my computer to which I replied that I didn't have a computer (I have gotten these called befoer too)....silence.....click.

BWA-HA-HA.

Just had the same call, I tried to pull them along to see what they were up to and then they got all pissy and started swearing at me.  Called me a motherf....  The concerning part is they knew my last name and my address.  Although I guess you could just get that out of the phone book.

Guy told me he was calling from Windows technical assistance.  They've been getting reports of errors, and he wanted to help me get rid of the junk mail of my computer.  Totally sounded trustworthy... Ahahaha!!
