i got the exact same message from the exact same number...

I got four of these non-sensical text message from 416-555-2121 all at the same time.

please stop sending messages to my cell phone 778-549-6145

i get these messages as well, and i think they signify when somebody sends you a picture message, but you don't have a plan that allows you to receive them as a picture.

I just got some of these texts too.. I replied "STOP", and it replied back (but the number was 4123) and it said "Sorry your message to 416-555-2121 could not be delivered. We tried to deliver the message 3X with no answer. Please try again later."

The fact that the reply doesn't sound professional (at all) gives it away to be some sort of scam or something.

I get the same messages. I have no idea why. Are you with Virgin Mobile? Because it might be one of their messages, but it has no meaning so I don't understand why they would send it.

I'm in Montreal, I have a Samsung cell with Virgin, incoming texts are free, and I just got two of those garbled messages. The fake 555 number looked suspicious. I've had my cell for over 5 years this is the first time it happened. Weird. If this is because someone is trying to send a picture why does this 'glitch' give that fake number?

This text is an error text meaning that someone has tried to send you a photo message and your phone is not compatible with the format in which the photo was sent.

What does this mean on my itemised calls?  the number called is 2121, SMSReceiveReply0Branded, 1 event (cost=0).

Yes this is happening to me to, 3 at a time every few days. I also pay for text messages.

I got 4 text messages of the same sort and i'm with Virgin using a Blackberry 8530. if this costs me anything i'm definately reporting this.

I have the same problem ! I recently bought the Samsung vice from Virgin Mobile and got 7 of these strange text ! It's particulary strange because number with 555 are use in movies because they don't exist at all, so I don't Know why this is happen

Well it is ovbious that this is only effecting mainly virgin mobile and some bell users(since virgin uses bells network, it makes sense). And it is obvious that this is only happening when someone tries to send a photo. I had my friend send one to me and that same message would show in two parts. It also seems that this is only happening to certain phones, samsung, blackberries, LG, and sanyo. So I think everyone should call virgin mobile or bell, if u haven't already, and explain that this is happening. Also everyone should get a friend to send them a photo and see if you get that two part nonsense message. Why it comes from the same number for all of us, 4165552121(except the one person from montreal who had area code 512 I think but the rest of the number was the same), I'm still not sure of. I wonder if everyone is from ontario that this is happening to, since its a 416 number (toronto). Well that's all I could figure out for now, still not sure why its happening. If I figure it out I'll be sure to post it. Hope this helped.

I got 4 of the same encrypted messages.  When I tryed texting the number i recieved this message: "Your message will be sent to landline phone number 416-555-2121.  Pour envoyer message en francais au 416 555 2121, repondez f a ce message."  So this is from a home phone, so this is really confusing..  It sounds like so far its a home line phone that attempts to send pictures through your carrier and onto your phone, but for some reason during this proccess the picture gets encryted.  Purhaps a computer program designed to piss people off?  Im not sure, but im not liking this.  If anyone has any anwsers please email me at bretster_15@hotmail.com.  I gotta get rid of this.  Oh and i am on virgin, on samsung link .  thanks :)

what does it mean? i texted back but it said the text had failed

I just received 4 crypted txt msg from the same number (416-555-2121). I'm with Bell and I have a Sanyo SCP-7050. I'm filing a complaint about the matter.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have solved the mystery of this number.

I had a friend tell me through text that shewas going to send me a picture from her phone. I am on virgin mobile using a blackberry, she is on Koodo with an LG. Right after she said that, I got 2 messages of  //WWSDFVS... so on. Hours later she asked if I had received a picture file from her, I said no, she said she would try again. Right after she said they were sent, I received 2 more of those texts.

and virgin mobile is based off of bell mobility.  coincidence that bell and virgin users are being texted.  I activated my phone online by myself.  I don't receive any of these bu***hit calls.  when you activate your phone at the kiosk(s) They send your number off to the marketers.

it seems everyone who got this text messages owns a virgin mobile phone, is it possible that everyone had them activated at their kiosks? by some over dressed piece of stool? could be the cause..

girlfriend got the same thing, must be some east indian pranksters.  haha.. oh man their good.

I got the same thing on a Samsung Instinct.  And only my dad has my number as it is brand new.  Got for in a row - same script as above.  Very odd.  Plus I have free incoming text - so i doubt that its a money grabbing scam by providers.
Very strange!  Even more strange is the 3 websites with this discussion about the same number that doesn't exist!
