Received a call from 214-256-4680.  Caller id said 'Private Name'.  I didn't answer, as I don't want their system to recognize that someone actually responds to the called number. I pressed *67 and then dialed the number.  I received a recorded message thanking me for calling the American Heart Association about their 'Dear Neighbor' campaign.

how do you block these stupid calls.  Yes, it's a charity.  But it doesn't allow them to harass you. Had the same thing happen with the children's thing. Ended up calling the local charity and telling them that I know they 'farm' out to call centers, but they need to be more careful who that is what their policies are.

I have a Down's grandchild. I donate locally.  I do not appreciate harassing calls.  And told them so. It still went on for awhile, but I haven't gotten any lately. They used to call 3-4 times a DAY!  I didn't answer and they kept calling.

Same thing is going on with the AHA neighborhood.

I would add that if AHA Neighbor doesn't get a response, they call back with a different number.  Charity or not, they are using questionable calling tactics. I am blocking each number they call on. I will see what they use tomorrow.

picked up the phone, I said nothing,  after a few moments of silence, the call was terminated.....

"This is a legitimate charity, so please treat them with respect."  No.  If they respected me, they would not robocall my number and not be on the line when I pick up.  They would not call me over and over when I've asked them not to in the past.  They should be treated as the annoying intruders they are, "legitimate charity" or otherwise.  Hang up in their ear.

this number says "anonymous". if they were for real, they wouldn't have that caller ID.

TIRED of AHA NEIGHBOR (214-256-4680) calling EVERY DAY... it's Sunday, and we just got a call...  you answer and they hang up or don't talk... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO aggravating..

Don't sit waiting for "the government" to shutter what the casual observer will find to be a legitimate charity not grossly violating any laws. Never mind that closer examination shows the "charity" is a closet profit enterprise using sly sales tactics and hiding barely behind the DNC registry exemption.

In a comment from Nov 2012 linked below, find the simple steps I took to rid myself of a major pain boiler room by politely rubbing its face in federal laws. It is in fact the place that once hassled us for American Heart among other fraudulent beggars. You will note that I never rely on verbal cease-communication demands.

I get calls from this number every day of the week including Sunday, I wish the government would look into  shutting this practice down. Do these company's really think the public would contribute anything to them after being harassed day after day by them.  Of course the bird brains that program these calls doesn,t think of that.

My caller ID says AHA Neighbor. American Heart Association. They dont ask for money. they just want you to mail letters to your neighbors.

This daily call is getting very annoying. I wish there was a way for the phone companies to intervene and shut this line down.

This number calls each day. I wait till the 3rd ring and no one is there. This indicates this is a computer made call. I'm going to block it. Caller Id says Dallas T.

I called the number and it was the American Heart Assn.

Just had a call from them.  When I answered, no one was there, although I typically don't give them long to respond.  My feeling is that if it is not worth their time to wait for me to answer, it is not worth my time to wait for them to come on the line.  

I did redial the caller ID, and to their credit it is a legitimate number.  It turns out that it is the American Heart Association Dear Neighbor Campaign.  This is a legitimate charity, so please treat them with respect.  If you choose not to participate, that's fine, but just tell them.  

I have, in the past, supported this organization, although am not currently in a position to do so.  So, regardless of whether you choose to give them money, please be respectful and understand that they are permitted to call as an actual non-profit organization.
