I see the agony here. I worked for the company and yea it is in India, but the head office is located in CA. I was part of a tele marketing firm that they appointed. We did not market the same thing and never asked for SS#'s, but yea did work for Loan Modification. I will surely pass on the message to the callers so that they can be more concerned about your feelings. The 5 am calls must be a technical problem which can be fixed. We do not try to harass, but I guess the pressure of meeting targets coupled with bad dialer management can cause these issues. I guess people who sell your Telephone details to call centers around the world need to be well versed with the DNC list and I guess it should be made cheaper so that every one can afford it! Remember you are not only getting calls from India, but Now Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Barbados and China are all buying the same calling data from different people across the world.

I have a number of 1-866-563-9165
Dave 2008-03-18 08:02:38 Unknown
I believe this number is associated with several other numbers which show up when I have been called repeatedly by representatives of "Home Loan Center". After getting pretty tired of asking that my number be removed from there calling lists (I am on the national do-not-call list) l began feigning interest and have been given the call-back number of 866-563-9165 They have also claimed their web address to be "smartfundingcorp.com. I checked the registration information for that site and found the following:

I wonder how Mr. Ratan Baid would feel about repetitive calls at all hours of the day and night.

they called me last night, said they were calling from a company called smart funding corp, said they were working with FHA (at least thats the part i could half way understand because of the thick (well not sure what to call it) accent. said his name was mike watson ha ha yeah right when he could not get me to give him my social sec # he then tried to talk my husband into it, he said no and then the guy said let me get my supervisor, my husband heard a tv in the back ground and when the other guy came to the phone and tried again for a ss# and failed he just hung up. sounds real legit, huh? lol

AMR Home Loans is actually "Smart Funding Corp." d/b/a AMR Fundings (http://www.smartfundingcorp.com/), (http://65.248.36.75/amr/index.htm) with an address at:
1809 E. Dyer Rd, Ste 301
Santa Ana, CA.
tel. (949) 838-1819.
They are a self-described "aggressive mortgage company" (http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/rej/465365093.html) that in 2006 obtained financing from the Export-Import Bank of the United States for a call center system in India. (this explains the heavy accents of the callers -- http://www.exim.gov/article.cfm/985AA5C3-DBF6-0254-D0B3C0405CED97BE/). Their call center spoofs the numbers of call centers in the United States so that the recipient's caller ID shows up with a U.S. phone number or "Unavailable ID." (See also http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-214-270-1696). They use old mortgage data for their caller database, their Indian telemarketers use fake American names such as "Daniel Parker" and "Mack Logan," and they do not follow requests to be placed on "do not call" lists. I must have received 500 calls from them in the past year.
Is their activity illegal? What can I do about these calls?

If you answer, the caller will ask you for information about your home mortgage. The call is from an Indian call center operated by "Smart Funding Corp." d/b/a AMR Fundings (http://www.smartfundingcorp.com/), (http://65.248.36.75/amr/index.htm) with an address at:

I have received several calls from a company AMR Loans. At least I think that is the name of the company because I can barely understand the person on the other end of the phone with a very thick middleeastern accent. When I told him I was on the "do not call list" (at least 3 times)he preceeded to tell me that it is not a solicitation. Again, he called this morning and I reitterated that I did not want to speak with him nor did I want to do business with someone I can't understand. Additionaly, I am not in the market to shop my current loan. And if I was, I would not give my personal information to someone I don't know, over the phone.
I called the toll free number listed on the internet to ask, once again, to remove me from their call list. I got a recorded message then was told to leave one. This company is a joke!

So sick of hearing from these people! They at all hours of the day! My husband told them on Saturday that we were not interested, please take us off the list. That stopped them for a few days, but the calls started again this morning. I plan on trying to get a call back number to report them to the attorney general in my state, but we'll see if that works.

Caller called my business #. When I answered the person on the other end did not say anything, so I hung up.

The Indian accent caller would not give me his name or company name or why he was calling until after he got his sales pitch in. I kept insisting on a call back number and would not let him get in a word. The phone hung up while he was giving me the number. I called back the 216 number and got a message that the "PCS telephone number you dailed was temporary not in service."

They call several times a day, will not give me their phone number or let me talk to a supervisor. The other day the called me at 5am! They are really getting to me. I filed a complaint with the national do not call list. We'll see.

We are on the Do-not-call list and these people think they are above it. They have called us 3 times by 9:30 AM trying to get us to get a home loan with them.

I've had four different callers with harrassing calls. I've been blowing a whistle into the phone when they call without speaking to them and slowly they get the picture and don't bother us again.

ws 2007-07-29 15:43:42 Unknown
Brian has the right idea, just block the calls. Most phone service providers offer call filtering/blocking. I pay $2 extra a month for it which I consider a bargain. The phone simply never rings and the caller gets a message saying you aren't accepting their calls.
Excell Services-Telecom Manager 2007-07-25 14:50:38 Telemarketer
All,
AMR Home Loans is spoofing the Excell Services number for outgoing mortgage calls. We ask that you answer the call, act like you are interested about a home loan and get a call back number. Then please use this information and report to the attorney generals office of your state.
Excell Services is an INBOUND ONLY Directory Assistance call center. We do not offer sales calls, mortgage calls, or anything else like that services. We will assist you in prosecuting AMR Home Loans or any other comapnies using our name or affiliation.

I have been getting continuous calls from 214-270-1696, so I e-mailed EXCELL SERVICES (which is a Texas company that "routes" phone calls from solicitors in other countries THROUGH THEIR USA PHONE NUMBERS) at: noc@excellsvcs.com and officially notified them that I reported AMR HOME LOANS and EXCELL SERVICES to the National Do Not Call program and advised them that they are subject to $50,000 fine if they continue to allow AMR HOME LOANS to route their annoying soliciting phone calls to my business phone number. YOU SHOULD ALL DO THE SAME IMMEDIATELY.
