I received a call from this number today for an interview tomorrow at Xerox. He was very un-professional and was suppose to follow up with my pre-screening and where to arrive tomorrow at 2:30.
I tried to call the number back and it does not exist.
I am going to call Xerox HR just to let them know.

Thanks for the previous posts.
They actually left me a message. Their call back number is 214-370-6890. It was regarding a resume I had sent them and they had jobs in a call center environment. She said it was to answer questions callers had about their products.

I received a call from this number seconds after submitting an online application for Xerox. The number does not receive calls, but I did get a number with the application confirmation email. Try calling the Talent Acquisition Department at Xerox at 877-747-3625. I'm still on hold now, so not sure how much help this might be.

Just tried calling that number and was told that either the number dialed is not a working number or that I need to dial an area code with a valid 7 digit number after. I did dial all 10 numbers correctly, tried twice.
ditto 2012-06-12 19:19:21 Unknown
Called twice in a row then no message. Called back immediately and got a tone then "this is not a working number, please dial the area code and seven numbers." Something's fishy here. Probably got my number from a resume from Monster or Indeed.

I was in the middle of filling out the pre screening test, about job employment. Basically setting up a profile with ACS on the computer, in their office. Pretty weird!
Jack 2011-09-30 21:33:15 Unknown
Is not that they are piss people off because they want it, sometimes the lines are too bussy and hung up itself, that happends couple times even when I tried to reach corporative numbers or if I try to reach my mother cell using my office line. :P Just call them back and get your job :D
Its ACS 2011-09-16 00:00:47 Unknown
Oh, its definitely ACS. I have a screening appointment with them tomorrow morning with a lady named Maria. But their phone and email etiquette leaves a lot to be desired.
Getting ahold of them is like trying to pull teeth. I was first contacted by the main recruiting officer, Laura, on the 8th (some months after applying). I emailed back the next day.
I was then called 5 times in a row by this number, they only left one voice mail. I then called Laura back and left a voice mail for her only a few minutes after. I emailed her the next day (the 10th) and told her I had left a voice mail. I knew she read the email because I have Windows Live Mail set to send me a receipt when my emails are read. I heard nothing from her for two days.
I then was called twice in a row on the 12th with one voice mail left and received an email from Laura asking me to call her. I did so, twice. Left her a voice mail. Nothing.
I emailed her AGAIN on the 13th to tell her I would be off the next day and to please call me. Surprisingly, she did. I called back and finally managed to talk with her.
She spoke *very* fast (so fast I had to ask her to slow down and repeat herself), repeating herself several times.
However, I set up my screening appointment and received an email with information I didnt understand, so I emailed her a little while later. Have gotten nothing in response though I know she read the email, so I called her today. Their system was messed up today (first couple times it was static, then some message I couldnt even hear with my phone turned all the way up) and I had to call a half dozen times just to get to her extension. I left a voicemail, called again an hour or so later. Had to call multiple times to get to her extension again with no answer.
I called the woman I am to have an appointment with tomorrow. Left a voicemail asking her to call me back when she got the message. Called back an hour later and got ahold of her.
All this just go to a screening appointment a half hour away to see if I even passed the assessment test - they cant check and then call me in for an interview if I have? Then, IF I pass.. I get to interview (it better be while I'm already there!!!) and THEN take the assessment test AGAIN! ...Why??!
I'm looking for a new job, but all this crap is making me think twice about it! Even if the pay is way better than my current job...

I just got a call today too and I just started at ACS

I've been getting calls from this number for months. Usually happens between 12pm-1pm .. They don't leave a message, nor they disconnect when you answer.
I know people from Texas, it's a Texas Area Code. And, they are not the people who are are trying to reach me.
It's strange.

my cel phone show 1 missed call from this number, but i dont know who is this
Matt 2011-06-06 20:43:31 Unknown
It's a recruitment number for the company "ACS." It means you submitted an application to them.
Shawn 2011-06-06 20:43:31 Unknown
You're right, Matt. Ironically, I just submitted my resume to them yesterday then that phone number called me this morning. But oddly, it only rang twice and by the time I answered there was nobody there! Not sure how they expect to hire people if they piss them off with hang up calls. Not very professional to do to applicants for a call center!
Shawn 2011-04-15 16:43:43 Unknown
Those who said the call is from ACS are most likely correct, because I just submitted my resume on their website yesterday. But I find it odd that my phone only rang twice before the caller hung up. Not a very professional thing to do to applicants for a call center job. They do seem very high-pressure, that's for sure. Apparently their recruiters get bonuses or commissions, because I got TWO unsolicited job offers from them just one day apart from two different people on two different email accounts of mine!

I received a call from this number today at 7am and 12:49pm. I told them at 7am that they had the wrong #. At 12:49 I did not answer and no message was left.

They keep calling and they have the wrong # and I told them stop calling me and they called twice today

Definitely a legit call , its ACS , theyre owned by xerox and doing alot of hiring .

After applying for a job at a company called ACS, a gentleman called me from this number to schedule a pre-employment screening. The call is legitimate if you or a staffing agency that you signed up with applied for a position recently.
Ivon 2009-09-07 20:07:23 Unknown
The number is from ACS and that office is on Dallas Tx
Amy 2009-08-06 16:47:05 Unknown
It is acs-inc.com

I work for an HR consulting firm in Phoenix, Az. They called my work phone and I saw this number on my caller ID and happened to be eating my lunch at my desk so I didn't answer, thinking the caller would leave a voicemail but they didn't. Obviously it wasn't that important...

I received a call from this number on 8 May 09 at 11:59 am. I did not answer and no message was left. I have not called back. I, as have many others on this list, have a resume on CareerBuilder.com. I am wondering who is giving out this information? If it continues I will no longer be using this service.

Although, I did put my resume on Craigslist... But, never spoke to them at all.

I received a similar phone call for a position I applied for (Also from Craigslist). The woman said that she was calling about a job posting. When she got my name wrong, then asked my for my full name, I wouldn't give it to her, so she hung up on me. I would conclude that it's not a safe site to use when job hunting. :(

Thank you for your help!!
Have to be so careful these days...
anne 2008-10-28 23:30:09 Unknown
OK, here's the deal,
Go to SpoofCard.com and it will explain on a smaller scale how this is being done and why you can't call back the number that show's up on your caller ID.
IF you are getting these calls, especially if you are getting it every day or twice a day you must report this someone. I'm not sure who. The FCC, Police, FBI whoever. BUT make sure to tell them that the number that shows up on your caller ID is not the number they are calling from.
BUT BEFore you do that, next time they call get as much information out of them as you can about their company and what they are offering while giving away as little information about yourself as you can. Give them a false name. Ask who you are speaking to/what their name is. What the name of the company is, what their website is called. Ask if you can think about it and can you call them back on this number or a different number. seem interested.
EVen better if you can record the conversation or at least put it on speaker phone so someone else will hear the conversation.
if you get a phone call where they ask for you by name (it may start out with some job application you filled out, that's how it did for me). here's the tricky part, when they ask for phone number verification...give them the number they dialed: your number (I mean, they already have it, don't they), then when they ask for you by name, simply say you don't know that person. Make up some name to tell them. ALL the while keep asking what company this is, what's the website, phone number, email address SOMething.
THis happened to me because I believe I tried to apply for a job on craigslist.com (which i love dearly) and the email like that it had for the posting connected me to a webpage called employmentselect.com. So, I don't think craigslist is dangerous, just beware if the email like takes you to a web page.
when I told the nasty women that I had no IDEa who "my real name" was, she said there must have been a mistake and that i wouldn't be called again. I'll wait a few days and let you know if I get another call.
Put it all in your complaint.
If you all are as annoyed as you say you are and your bark really is as big as your bite, then complain complain complain BUT have something to back it up with. "Caller refused to give me a name, company name, telephone number, email address, shoe size AND I have a witness/I have it recorded"
this is absolutely ridiculous and we must stop it. Don't let these people invade our homes and our phones.
that's all I got for now.
kj 2008-10-28 23:26:58 Unknown
A lady called and mentioned a job opportunity from this number, someone at my home answered the phone and said "wait a minute, I'll get (my name)" the lady then hung up, once they got my name.
I looked up the number using reverse phone lookup online, its a land line and the address is in Mesquite, Texas If I pay to find out additional info, I can get their name and specific address. I don't plan on doing that at this time.
