Same here. They called and asked for me by last name and then hung up. I called back and a message said it was something called Statewide Appeals.

Got a call, answered, they hung up.

Got a call from this number on 1/29/10.  When I answered they hung up.

Called my house yesterday missed it.  Again today and when I said hello, they hung up.

Just got a call from this number when I answered there was no one there.  I waited and said hello again but then call was disconnected.  "Name" that appeared on the caller ID was 21577492413

This guy called asking for my daughter by her first and last name (phone is listed in my name).  When I said she wasn't home and asked to take a message he said 'later' and hung up quickly.

A friend asked me to look-up this number since they called earlier today. Asked for husband by name and was rude when he wasn't there.

FYI... I believe charities and political organizations are exempt from the Do Not Call list.  However, they must stop calling if you ask to be removed from their list.

Same here. I am on the do not call list but these people don't seem to care. I get all kinds of calls several times a day everyday of the week. My voice mail picked up on this call and wasting time the caller at the end says, "why work on full commission?" Yes it is a scam!!

This call came about 8:00 PM on March 8 2010 a Man said  Pat,  I said yes, then  nothing,,,, Checked area code it is a Philly Pa  number. I can see now it is a scam.  How do they get our names....also I am on the do not call list...

I answered, but got just dead air.  No idea who's calling.  But calling me at work, during work, is pretty annoying.

I just tried to call the # back and it was to some "state wide appeal" and that the call made to me was of no urgancey and to leave name and # if i wanted them to call back, of course i hung up!!

have recieved a call from 215-774-9241. when i answer there was no one on the other end and then it hung up on me. dont not want any more calls from this # or any other solicitor!!

02/13/10 at 10:13am. Caller was from "State Police Association". Mentioned by name a local PA State Trooper that was gunned down in the line of duty. I know troopers from that barracks and know the PSP doesn't solicit funds, and hung up on the caller.

After two rings, answered, and the caller or computer disconnected the call.

They called my house at 10:20 in the morning on Feb 13th.  It rang a few times, and when I picked up no one was there. I googled the number to see who it was and this site came up. Glad I have some info now on it.

Have gotten a few hang-up calls from 1-215-774-9241.

Got a call from this number at 17:12 EST.  I didn't answer, as I didn't recognize the number.  No voicemail left by them.  Phone number is on the DNC list.

Received three calls from this number(215-774-9241) over a three day period, never said a word when I answered and then they hung up! When they called again on the fourth day I blew a loud policeman's whistle into the phone as close as I could...haven't gotten a call from them since! Try it, it works...only don't wait until the fourth call!

Called us. The caller is only said the number. The number belongs to state wide appeal

Won't talk when I answer. Not the 1st time this happened. What can be done/

Called at 7:50pm. When I answered the phone I could tell someone was there but they said nothing. The only reason I answered the call in the first place was I use to live in the 215 area code. I thought it might be someone I knew. I'm glad I checked this out and now know. The weird thing is I just donated to the State Troopers last month. SO is this company a total scam or what?

Caller called today approximately 2:30pm.  He always asks for my husband by name.  He says he is Jim.  I asked him Jim from where?  He said Texas.  I said he doesn't know a Jim from Texas.  The guy got very rude and said that he would call back again and then hung up on me.  I am getting tired of getting these calls.

Man called from this number (215-774-9241)and asked for a donation for the State Police. My wife answered the call. Told the caller the State Police does not solicit money. The caller said they do and would send information in the mail. I know we will never see that.

This number called this morning, 1/23/10.  No one was there when we picked up.

this number called my home asking for my daughter by name, it was a male voice and when she took the call he hung up...she has no idea who it is and nor do we....

Called 1/22 at 8:58 pm let phone ring 4 times and hung up.

'State Wide Appeals' is just another name for the boiler room guys that called me from the American Association of State Troopers.  (See my posting below)
