I just received a call from this number, informing me they are "Long Distance Access", and that "Qwest" had contracted with them to supply their long distance services for cheaper.  They just needed me to validate a few things, and then "authorize" the change.  Unfortunately for the young lady, I have been in telecomm for over 30 years, and know enough to know that what is being spoke about is a PIC change (Primary Interexchange Carrier) - all long distance suppliers have their own unique PIC code.  I also informed her that Qwest is no longer the company out here, but actually CenturyLink.  When I asked her why there had not been a letter from them advising of this "change" that they were initiating, I was told I would receive a letter within a few days of this call.

This is BOGUS information.  The only letter I would have received would have been possibly a letter from CenturyLink confirming "my" request to change carriers, and a letter from Long Distance Access welcoming me to their business.

Hopefully more of you will google these slimes before they trick you into changing your services, and winding up with a higher bill.

Telephone Company called to say they are partnering with Century Link and will be lowering my bill. They just needed some information to make sure they were speaking to the right person. I've been through this before when I had Qwest. Instead of lowering my bill, they tack on their services to my monthly bill. It ended up costing me around $36.00 more. Qwest could do nothing about crediting me the monies, but did stop collecting for them. Guess it was my fault for not investigating first, but it was made to sound like a done deal and they just needed to let me know after they make sure they are talking to the subscriber of the phone service. How do I report this as a Scam?????

I too, received a phone call from "The Telephone Company"  identifying themselves as partnering with Century Link. However, this had happened to me before and I wound up paying a larger monthly bill because they attached their services to my monthly phone bill. At that time Qwest could do nothing but cancel future charges. I let the gentleman on the phone that contacted me moments ago about this and his response was that he knew nothing about that service. I just told him I wanted no changes to my services. They try to make you feel foolish because you don't want to save money on long distance (which I already have free long distance) and you need to be firm in telling them "NO".

They called me today, and talked with me.  They said they were the phone company, and said that they were going to start using a different long distance company that would lower my bill by $17. and that federal regulations required them to inform the customers that this was happening.  I asked them what phone company they were and they said, "Century Link", which is my phone company.  Then they said they had to confirm that I was informed and was going to ask me a few questions.  I told them that I had unlimited long distance and that I didn't want to change to a different long distance.  They hung up.  I called my phone company and they said it was a scam, and that they had NOT called me, and this wasn't how they do business.  I called them back and told them I was going to report them to the phone company and the BBB.  They are liars, not just soliciters, but liars, and are scamming people.

Received numerous calls from them, but they never leave a message. My daughter answered the phone the last time they called and they asked to speak to me. I was in the shower and when she told them so my daughter said the lady sighed and hung up on her.
