Rec'd a voice mail from 218-588-1139 which left a direct callback # of 218-588-9925.  Person that answered identified herself as Tiffany.  She ask for a reference #  - I provided the reference number she asked who she was speaking with.  I asked her who had called me?  She retorted "...you just said my name - Tiffany...".  I asked her what it was regarding?  Tiffany: "I need to know who I'm speaking with."  I paused and chuckled.  Tiffany: "...alright...thank you".

I got a call to my cell phone from this company.  I don't give usually out my cell phone, but I had recently looked into getting one of those payday loans, which asked for my cell phone number.  I thought, well maybe this one time I'll give it out...so I did.  THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE because it was followed by a barage of calls from people who speak broken English, offering me a loan.  They were directing me to their websites where I was often asked for the same information I had already provided in my first round of applying.  I decided I was not going to follow through with ANY of these companies, and that I didn't need the loan, especially for the fact that many of them wanted $79-$100 for you to just join the service that allowed you to borrow from them -- NUTS!
Anyway, about a month later, I got the call from 216-588-1139, and I assumed it was another one of these companies offering me a loan again, so I told them this was no longer Sue's cell phone.  When I asked why they were calling, the man speaking very broken English told me that we was coming to her place of business to arrest her!
Needless to say this got my attention, so when he called my business line, I picked up.  I know a little bit about the law, so I knew this was some kind of fraud.  I grabbed my iPhone and recorded the conversation and transcribed it.  He stated that his client was a loan company with whom I had taken out a loan (which I did not), and that when they went to collect the electronic check (which did not exist) the transaction was declined.  He later said he was sending helicopters, two FBI agents and the "cops team" to "my job."  I called my lawyer who later sent the audio file of my recording and my transcription to the US attorney and the attorney general.  He tried calling them, but they didn't pick up the phone -- probably because his caller id ends with "Esq."  He asked me to request a mailing address, so I called, and the did pick up the phone.  This conversation was riddled with threats from them that the helicopters and FBI agents were on the way, and he was coming too, so I don't need his address.  He then went on to say he had "sleepers" and he said he would "kill them all" if I had my own security people.  I only WISH I were making this up.  If you don't believe me, I'll be glad to send you the audio files.

I also got a collection from Hughes net because I opted out of the contract a few months early due to poor, slow internet conncection that cost 80.00 a month! I never was able to speak with anyone in america about the issue. It isnt being racist to say that their call center is located in the phillipines.... Dont play the race card. I agreed to a settlement of roughly 30% of the termination fee to close the account and never have to hear from anyone again. The payment went thru and now 2-3 months later, Hughes net is sending me letters wanting the other 70% of the contract termination fee. I should have paid nothing and by trying to do the right thing I am stuck tryin to straighten out this mess for a second time. Sounds like BS to me.

We bought the Satellite Package from Hughesnet,  paid over 500 dollars . The service did not work well at all, we could not get on line and stay on line, We only got to speak with people over seas who spoke poor English and could do little. We stopped the service. Bought a blue box from at&T which works better. Hughes net demanded a two hundred dollars termination fee in a letter with no adress or phone number to get back in touch with them..infuriating. They called several times from poorly speaking english and said they could do nothing, we must speak to some on else.. Then this Collection agency began calling masquerading as a law firm. the woman actually as for the name of my attorney, I gave her a made up number and hung up. PFFFFFFFFFFFT. I do not need this crap. we have a terminal illness in our immediate family and this makes me so angry, the added stress. I want to send her on a fast boat to @#$%^&. Hughes net owes me money for no service.. wonder if I can get them to collect????

These clowns phoned me this morning, saying that I owe $80 from 2 years ago.
I never heard of the company they said I owed the money to. A man called Mr. Hamilton who would not give me his first name started talking tough, and tried to represent himself as an attorney. Clearly he was lying, as he couldn't answer simple legal questions when I challenged him. These people are definitely SCAM ARTISTS!

I received a call from the aforementioned number today. I purchased a new cell and with it received a new number. The company was not identified, however a name was given of [I assume] the previous owner of the number. Normally I would call back, but seeing these comments lead me to believe that I should leave it alone. if they call me again I might answer and tell them to remove my number from their list. Hmmm....

I recieved the same number 1216-588-1139.  They tried to say I owed the 120.00 for an old bill from yellow pages and a law firm had contracted them.  I told them i did not owe any money and that I was going to call the states attorney.  I tried to call back the number and at first it had a wierd noise, then the number did not work.  There are so many scams going on and coming out of the wood work.  I got my call at 8 this morning so I was not happy.  I told them not to call back and re- registered with the no call list. I am glad I found this site because I believe a class action law suit should be started against these people.

I love it, they call my answering machine and some female says that if this isn't my husband, don't listen and she'll wait 3 (count 'em, #) whole seconds for him to hang up.  Of course, the machine doesn't hang up until they do.  Then she says that if (the machine) doesn't want to hear any personal information, she'll wait a whole 3 seconds for the stupid machine to hang up.  Is she as dumb as a fence post?  She KNOWS she's talking to a machine, why does she act like someone is there?

what a bunch of scumbags. they keep leaving messages that this is a time sensitive issue and a case number. I keep telling them I am not that person nor that phone number but this "mr. mans" tells me I am that person and wants me to give him my checking account information (fat chance). this is getting to the point of harassment how often he keeps calling. serves me right for getting a new cellular number I guess. lucky my cellular company credits me back the airtime they waste.

Just got a message from a Lady from this collection agency. This lady was very serious and wanted me to call her as soon as possible.  I deleted the message as soon as I found this forum.  Thank you all for posting your experiances with this company, now I know what to do with these ppl next time they try to reach me.

they said they were calling from Hughes net.  Don't even go there.  Hughes net is horrible satellite internet provider with all associates located in Philippines or somewhere else where they don't speak English.  Now harassment for stopping service one month early due to such poor connection speed.  Buyer beware.

I get this same message daily!!!  Male and female...scripted message...it is verbatim...JERKS..never fails 8:20 am every morning the phone rings no message.  After that it rings later and then I get there stupid message..  And I am on the do not call list...

Same number here, its been about 2.5 years since I first had a gambling problem and got submitted to them, they call about 3 times a month all i have ever read about them is that if it was a real serious CA it would have been on my credit report by now just like all the other ca's have done.  its uncollectable gambling debt and they know it.  but what the thing is so many others dont.  my banker says if its not on your credit report after 2 years of not paying, any real company would have wrote it off as a loss or sued you by now in a court.  And well Citi bank didnt wait 2 years to sue me for not paying.

They called my cell phone this morning asking for someone I have never heard of.  I had to convince them it wasn't me.  It's my business phone.  Very annoying.  1/15/08

Supposedly a bill collector.  When you call back...u will be put on hold. I have called back 3 times, always put on hold, noone ever picks up.

Comes up as "JMC" on the caller ID, and the man is trying to be all serious.

He ID'd himself as Matt from attorney Joseph Mann & Creed.
He told me how I used an E check for gambling but the check was
no good from 3 years ago & it was a collection call.
When I told him the call was being recorded & I have never used
E checks online & requested not to call again, he hung up oon me.

A severely serious man called and left a message stating it was
EXTREMELY URGENT that I call back. I work for an attorney's office and if you've written a bad check the District Attorney will mail you a REALLY serious letter! IGNORE these people--I wouldn't be surprised if you get billed $14/minute if you call them back!

Same thing - Gwen called from this number looking for someone with my same last name but different first name (same first initial though).  Told her she struck out on the scam and to remove my number.  This happens about this time each year for the past three years.
